Donald Trump’s Town Hall on FOX News went off as scheduled – but it wasn’t exactly a real 'town hall'
Donald Trump held a town hall meeting on FOX News, where he was asked two questions from the audience. The event was hosted by Sean Hannity, who stated that the interview would not be a debate. The program was recorded earlier in the day and was heavily edited. There will be a second part with audience questions on Friday.

Fox News: Nevada Gov. Joe Lombardo vetoes measure criminalizing fake electors
Nevada Gov. Joe Lombardo vetoes measure criminalizing fake electors
Nevada's Republican Gov. Joe Lombardo vetoed a bill that would have made it a crime to sign false certificates stating that a losing candidate won a certain state. The bill aimed at cracking down on so-called fake electors would have established prison sentences of four to 10 years. Lombardo said punishments should be strict but the bill provided disproportionately harsh penalties for a terrible crime. Instead, he signed new legislation making it a felony to harass, intimidate or use force against election workers performing their duties.

American Thinker: President Trump shows his sensitive side in reacting to Biden's fall
President Trump shows his sensitive side in reacting to Biden's fall
Trump expressed concern over Biden's physical and mental health, cautioning against making jokes about it. He acknowledged the dangers of nuclear warfare and reminded everyone that America's enemies are watching the commander in chief. Biden fell during the Air Force Academy graduation ceremony, bringing back Biden's derisive remarks about Trump's ramp struggle in 2020. Trump showed commendable restraint and sensitivity in reacting to Biden's fall, in contrast to Democrats who have shown disdain for Republican voters in the past.

Biden critics accused of 'pouncing on' president's fall at Air Force Academy: 'Talking point for Republicans'
After President Biden fell during a commencement ceremony, several media outlets claimed Republicans were "pouncing" on his weakness. Even former President Donald Trump reacted, pointing out that he was previously criticized for walking down a ramp carefully. Biden mocked Trump in a campaign speech for his weakness and is now receiving similar criticism.

Steve Garvey, 10-time MLB All-Star, considering US Senate bid in California
Former MLB player Steve Garvey, who won the National League MVP Award in 1974, is considering a Senate run in 2024 as a Republican candidate in California. Although Republicans are outnumbered 2-to-1 by Democratic voters in the state, Garvey's star power in Southern California may garner unexpected support. He would run against several prominent Democratic members of Congress, including Katie Porter, Adam Schiff, and Barbara Lee. The seat is currently held by Democratic Sen. Dianne Feinstein, who is not seeking another term.

Liberty Nation: Why are Mike Pence and Chris Christie Running for President?
Why are Mike Pence and Chris Christie Running for President?
Two Republicans with no clear lane to the nomination, Mike Pence and Chris Christie, are entering the 2024 presidential race. Neither of them has gained much support in early polling, and neither is likely to win. While Christie plans a "non-traditional" campaign centered around free media, Pence's traditional conservatism is unlikely to draw support in the current era of Trump-style populism. The support they do attract will likely come at the expense of more viable candidates, ultimately benefiting the frontrunner, Donald Trump.

The Epoch Times: Australia’s Foreign Affairs Department Yet to Remove China-Made DJI Drones
Australia’s Foreign Affairs Department Yet to Remove China-Made DJI Drones
Australia's Department of Foreign Affairs and Trade (DFAT) continues to use Chinese-made drones from Da Jiang Innovations (DJI) despite other government departments such as the Australian Border Force ceasing their use in May. DFAT Chief Security Officer Joe Talbot confirmed the drones' use during a Senate estimates hearing. He added that 13 DJI drones were currently being used by DFAT and two by Austrade. Home affairs and cyber security minister James Paterson stated it was "not clear" how DFAT could continue using the drones safely. He explained that many of the software and hardware the Australian government uses is from China, much of which is controlled by the Chinese Communist Party (CCP).

The United States Military has blacklisted DJI due to links to the Chinese Military. Defence Department Secretary Greg Moriarty and Chief of the Defence Force General Angus Campbell signed a cessation order suspending the use of DJI-related products on May 5, pending a six-month security audit. DJI has been sanctioned due to its role in the CCP's repression of the Uyghur ethnic group in the Xinjiang region. In a joint statement with the Five Eyes Security Alliance, ACSC condemned the CCP’s cyberattack on critical infrastructure networks across the US, which included "living off the land" tactics. It is not clear how DFAT can continue to use the drones safely.

National Review: The Corner: Electric Vehicles: Charging and Road Trips
The Corner: Electric Vehicles: Charging and Road Trips
The rise in electric vehicles (EVs) has led to increased demand for charging infrastructure in the US and other countries. However, the charging experience, particularly for long journeys, has been frustrating for some EV owners due to blackouts and slow charging. Norway's success in boosting EV sales through tax breaks highlights the need for charging infrastructure to keep up with demand. The US government plans to have 500,000 public charging stations by 2030, but this falls short of China's 1.8 million already in place. Tesla's proprietary charging network is starting to open to other EV models, and Ford's deal with the company is a positive sign for the future. Shrinking batteries could bring down the cost of EVs and reduce the impact of lithium mining on the environment. However, concerns about EV charging and range may drive some consumers back to internal combustion engines, and entrepreneurs may be slower to invest in charging infrastructure until there is a crisis.

The Epoch Times: Oil Prices Rise After US Debt Deal, All Eyes on OPEC Meeting
Oil Prices Rise After US Debt Deal, All Eyes on OPEC Meeting
Oil prices rise after U.S. debt ceiling deal averts default, with Brent crude up 1% at $75.05 a barrel and WTI up 1% at $70.79. The Federal Reserve's potential rate hike pause also supports oil prices by weighing on the U.S. dollar, making oil cheaper for holders of other currencies. OPEC+ ministers and allies, including Russia, will meet on June 4 to discuss the recent cut in production. The US Institute for Supply Management reported its manufacturing PMI fell to 46.9, and China's PMI data painted a mixed picture.

The Epoch Times: Stocks Gain, Dollar Stumbles as US Averts Default, Fed Skip Bets Rise
Stocks Gain, Dollar Stumbles as US Averts Default, Fed Skip Bets Rise
Global stocks and commodities rose on Friday as sentiment was buoyed by signs the Federal Reserve will skip a rate hike at its next meeting, and the approval of US debt ceiling legislation. Markets are now focused on US jobs data due at 0830 EST (1230 GMT) for more cues on the Federal Reserve’s rate hike path. Vice chair nominee Philip Jefferson said on Wednesday that skipping a rate hike at a coming meeting would allow the rate-setting Federal Open Market Committee to see more data before making decisions about the extent of additional policy firming, remarks echoed by several other Fed speakers. That helped shares to rally, and Europe’s broad STOXX 600 index is up 1%, and headed for a second day of gains, with mining stocks up 4.4% among the bigger movers. The euro is up 0.27% against the dollar this week.

Forbes: Another OPEC+ Cut Seems Likely—But Not Very Consequential
Another OPEC+ Cut Seems Likely—But Not Very Consequential
OPEC+ discusses better quota adherence at weekend meeting, with a new quota cut of around 1 mb/d likely to be announced, but UAE and Russia are expected to resist; a weak market in H2 2022 could retard any move towards $100 that some anticipate. Longer term, supply creeps up from Iran, Iraq, and Venezuela could mean that $80 Brent is not sustainable. The current trajectory of the price is not what OPEC+ wants, given the IEA’s projection that the market will be undersupplied by 2 mb/d in H2 2022.

Israel To Inaugurate Elevator At Tomb Of The Patriarchs
Hebron's Tomb of the Patriarchs is set to open a $1.6m accessibility elevator on June 8 after 30 years of legal battles. The tomb is one of Israel's most visited tourist sites, with a yearly visitor number of 1.5 million before the pandemic. The elevator will feature a sloped path, an elevator, and an enclosed footbridge composed of over 100 steps, providing a more convenient way to visit the holy site. The project was delayed for several years due to legal petitions filed by Palestinians who had to weigh up the site’s archaeological and architectural significance.

Her departure comes after Musk named Linda Yaccarino as the CEO of Twitter, a move welcomed by many but raising concerns about future direction.

One former employee of Ring spied on female customers for several months in 2017, surreptitiously placing cameras in their bedrooms and bathrooms. Amazon also faced an additional $25 million settlement over allegations of violating children’s privacy rights through its voice assistant, Alexa, by failing to delete recordings at parents’ request and retaining them longer than necessary.

Fox News: New Mexico's AG sues manufacturers of ‘forever chemicals’
New Mexico's AG sues manufacturers of ‘forever chemicals’
New Mexico's attorney general and Environment Department sued 21 manufacturers of "forever chemicals," or PFAS, seeking monetary damages for environmental monitoring and cleanups. The state accuses the companies of contributing to environmental contamination in New Mexico despite knowing for decades that the compound poses significant health risks. PFAS has been linked to cancer and other illnesses in humans, and New Mexico regulators are concerned about contamination seeping into aquifers, which 80% of New Mexico residents rely on for household water. Other states have filed similar lawsuits against major chemical manufacturers in recent months.
