Fox News: Florida AG Moody moves to block DHS from releasing migrants into interior with court dates
Florida Attorney General Ashley Moody expands court challenge against Biden administration's migrant policy, arguing that the policy of releasing migrants into the interior with a "notice to appear" in court is also illegal. Moody had successfully challenged the Biden administration's "parole with conditions" policy, implemented a day before the end of Title 42. GOP-led states take aim at Biden asylum rule with new legal challenge.
Florida argues that Border Patrol is continuing to release migrants on their own recognizance with a court date (known as a notice to appear, or NTA). However, DHS has recently streamlined the process. Florida argues for a review of the agency's policy, asserting that most releases of migrants into the US are because of the NTA/OR policy. Florida also argues that DHS has failed to consider alternatives to releasing migrants, including reopening family detention and ending the Flores consent decree.

The New American: Resist Dangerous Political Theater and Look to "That Which Is Not Seen" - The New American
French President Emmanuel Macron's ban on short-haul flights within cities that can be reached by train within 2.5 hours is just a political stunt, and its climate impact will be far below what Macron is suggesting, according to economist and statesman Frederic Bastiat, writing in "That Which Is Seen and That Which Is Not Seen". The ban will cause inconvenience by adding to travel times and costs, and will increase the number of automobiles on the road, resulting in more deaths, because the risk of being killed while driving is 2,200 times higher than while flying. Bastiat warned of the unseen costs of government intervention, and urged people to look beyond the claims made by politicians.

Former President Trump's attorneys have filed a motion requesting New York State Supreme Court Justice Juan Merchan to recuse himself from the ongoing criminal case in the Manhattan district involving hush-money payments made to adult film actress Stormy Daniels. Trump's attorneys argue that Merchan has a conflict of interest due to his daughter's employment with Authentic campaigns, which works for Democratic campaigns including President Biden's. The filing also alleges that Merchan has a bias against Trump.
Fox News: Biden warns of ‘armed hate groups’ targeting transgender marchers, endangered LGBT kids as Pride Month begins
President Biden claims transgender youth are in danger from "armed hate groups" across the US, and in some states, medically necessary health care has been banned. There have been over 600 hateful laws targeting the LGBTQI+ community, and "armed hate groups" have threatened doctors' offices and children's hospitals that offer care to the LGBTQI+ community. Meanwhile, an advocacy group has cautioned parents about recent legislation in California and Minnesota that would allow children to access sex-change drugs or surgical procedures, regardless of if the minor is traveling from another state.
Biden signed a proclamation for Pride Month, which emphasized "transgender youth" and children, and highlighted how children’s hospitals are among places where LGBT Americans are being threatened by "armed hate groups." The document used the terms "youth," "children," and "young" to describe transgender and "LGBTQI+" identifying individuals at least 9 times. The proclamation also took aim at "conversion therapy" and touted the president's signing of the so-called "Respect for Marriage Act." Biden claimed that "State and local legislatures have already introduced over 600 hateful laws targeting the LGBTQI+ community."

Daily Wire: Evan Rachel Wood’s Ex Says She Inflicted ‘Psychological Harm’ On Their 7-Year-Old Son During Custody Dispute
Actress Evan Rachel Wood and actor Jamie Bell, her ex-partner, have reportedly concluded a two-year custody battle, following allegations by Wood of sexual assault by musician Marilyn Manson. In court documents seen by The Daily Wire, Bell claimed that Wood lied to him about returning their son, Jack, to Los Angeles, and removed him to Tennessee. When Jack was eventually returned to Bell, he reportedly continually mentioned the alleged abuse, leading Bell to believe that Wood was manipulating the situation. Manson, who denies the allegations, was drawn into the dispute when Wood named him as an abuser.
The Federalist Papers: Target Insider Reveals 'Pride' Debacle Has Triggered Big Employee Problems for 'First Time in Our Company’s History': Report
Target's stock price has dropped by 14% this year, with an estimated $13bn loss in market capitalization since mid-March, leading JPMorgan to downgrade the retail giant's stock. The current wave of outrage is unlikely to disappear soon and may continue into the back-to-school shopping and holiday seasons, causing further damage. Meanwhile, some employees feel disgruntled due to decisions being made without their best interest.
Target drew criticism from conservatives after adopting LGBT merchandise for Pride Month, leading to displays being moved to less visible locations or even removed altogether. Despite claims that this was done to protect the safety of employees, some insiders feel this message hasn't reached those in the trenches and LGTBQ customers also feel unsure of their welcome. The situation has resulted in a feeling of unease engulfing employees as religious and other groups now complain during Pride Month, with some feeling sandwiched between both ends of the political spectrum.

Forbes: Netflix Equips The Witcher With $319 Million Budget
Netflix spent $318.7m on the first two seasons of The Witcher and its prequel, making it the most expensive show ever made by the streamer. The popular series, based on a series of Polish books, has amassed a dedicated following and has proved to be a massive success for Netflix with over 50 million copies sold since its 2015 video game release. The first season of the show was watched by 76 million households in its first month, and the third season is set to be released in two parts later in 2022.
The British production of The Witcher and its prequel series allowed Netflix to take advantage of the Television Tax Relief scheme in the UK, allowing the streamer to claim a cash reimbursement of up to 25% of its production budget. British companies also have to file publicly-available financial statements, revealing that The Witcher's first season cost approximately $11.5m for each of the eight hours broadcast, while the second season almost doubled to $176.3m. Liam Hemsworth is set to replace Henry Cavill as the lead for the fourth season, which is due to begin filming soon, and a fifth season has already been given the green light.

Ropinirole, a drug used to treat Parkinson’s disease and restless leg syndrome, has been found to safely delay the progression of Amyotrophic lateral sclerosis (ALS) for over six months in clinical trials. ALS, also known as Lou Gehrig’s disease, causes gradual muscle loss with no cure available. Researchers from Keio University School of Medicine in Tokyo tested the drug’s safety and effectiveness in 20 patients with sporadic ALS who had not previously received treatment with the drug, and monitored changes in physical activity and lung function during the trial and for four weeks following its conclusion. Further studies are needed to confirm the effectiveness of the drug, but plans for a phase three trial are underway.
