The Epoch Times: DeSantis Mounts Charm Offensive With Wife Casey in South Carolina
Florida Governor Ron DeSantis spoke to voters in South Carolina, home to two of his competitors in the Republican nomination: former governor Nikki Haley and current senator Tim Scott. At his first event in Beaufort, DeSantis drew a larger crowd than Haley's event at the same venue, but many attendees were in "candidate shopping mode." DeSantis and his wife also spoke about their family life, highlighting his youth and family-focused initiatives. DeSantis promised to bring energy and a "war on woke" to the White House, pledging to end woke ideology in schools, corporations, and Congress.
Breitbart: Urban League's Morial: DeSantis Is 'Literally' a '21st-Century George Wallace'
National Urban League President Marc Morial accuses Ron DeSantis of being a history suppresser, voter suppresser, and book banner, as well as comparing him to the 21st-century George Wallace. This comes after DeSantis made comments about school choice and black students' education performance. Morial emphasizes that censoring history is anti-American and reminiscent of totalitarian regimes.
Townhall: Pride Month and Why Schools Are Sexualizing Children
Schools are promoting hypersexualization of children through trans and gender ideology agendas without parental involvement. Groups like HRC and LGBTQ organizations are profiting from this curriculum. Hungarian Marxist Gyorgy Lukács called for the sexualization of children in schools to destabilize families and achieve his goal of building a Marxist society. Parents and educators must stand strong for the next generation to protect children from psychological harm and separation from families.
Breitbart: Left-wing Hollywood Elite Sell Cheap to Avoid L.A.'s 'Mansion Tax'
Wealthy Hollywood elites, including prominent Democratic Party fundraisers, have found ways to avoid the new "mansion tax" passed by Los Angeles voters last year. Measure ULA was designed to raise funds for low-income housing but has largely been a flop, bringing sales of luxury homes to a halt while raising little money. The tax applies a 4% transfer tax on all property sales above $5 million and 5.5% on sales above $10 million in the city. Some homeowners sold their properties at steep discounts before the tax went into effect, allowing them to avoid paying the additional taxes that apply to homes over a certain price.
Townhall: Brace for Impact: DOE Is About to Unleash Sexual Assault on Girls and Women
The Biden administration's Department of Education is proposing a rule that would allow boys and men who identify as female to participate in girls' and women's sports, as well as use their bathrooms and locker rooms. This change in interpretation of Title IX of the Civil Rights Act will likely lead to an increase in sexual assault and rape against women and girls. Critics argue that the new rule validates a fiction and poses a serious threat to the safety of females in public places. The proposed rule is open for public comment and is expected to become enforceable soon.
Townhall: The Mainstream Media Threatens American Democracy
The Leftist press reports on bogus illegal immigration claims and ignores proof of the Biden crime family's banking irregularities and FBI conspiracy. An unbiased press is crucial for our nation, but the highly compromised press is the biggest obstacle to moving forward. Dissension follows when the press only presents a singular point of view, and division and bitterness continue to perpetuate.

Breitbart: North Hollywood Parents Protest Elementary School’s ‘Pride Month’ Event
Parents protest Pride Month event at Saticoy Elementary School in North Hollywood. Some opposed teachers reading students a book that celebrates diverse families while others supported the LGBTQ+ community. Police were present as protesters and counter-protesters clashed. Classes continued as normal inside the school. Some parents believe it is inappropriate for teachers to teach students about sexual preferences, while others argue it is important to celebrate diversity.
The American Spectator: Norwegian Illusions: A Warning for Pete Buttigieg’s Infatuation
Norway's social democratic policies are often idealized, but its homogeneity and wealth may disqualify it for comparison. The country's Oil Fund, intended to guarantee everyone equal opportunities, is now being overused, leading to the middle class thinning and the rich fleeing. The government is becoming more intrusive, undermining the spirit of independence and individual responsibility that defines Norwegian culture. This is leading to societal stagnation, with individuals and families struggling to make ends meet and becoming increasingly unfit to work. The country's universal health care system is overburdened and educational outcomes are poor, with government misdirection blamed for the latter.

The Epoch Times: Stock Market Today: Wall Street Leaps After Strong Jobs Report, Dow Rallies 701
Wall Street's S&P 500 rose 1.5% and is close to entering a "bull market" following a strong report on the US job market. The Dow Jones Industrial Average rallied 2.1% (701 points) and the Nasdaq composite went up 1.1%, helped by reports of unexpectedly better employment figures and rising oil prices. High rates, which cause slower growth and hurt investment prices, could hamper the banking and manufacturing industries, while less upward pressure on inflation points to a potentially easier programme of hikes to Federal Reserve interest rates. PacWest Bancorp rallied 14.1%, as several banks were rated under heavy scrutiny, following the Republican-led Senate's late-Thursday final approval for a deal that should avoid a future US debt default.
Newsbusters: Ticking Time Bomb: Social Security & Medicare Are Broke
Social Security and Medicare are going broke because too many old people live too long and there are not enough working people to support them. Raising the retirement age or cutting benefits are possible solutions, but politicians are too afraid to take action or even discuss the issue. The only other alternative may be printing more money, which could lead to hyperinflation and a currency collapse like in Zimbabwe.
The Epoch Times: Fewer Private Schools to Lose Victorian Payroll Tax Exemption
Victorian private schools will see fewer losing their payroll tax exemption since Premier Daniel Andrews confirmed that the fee threshold will rise from the current mark of AUD 7,500 per year. The 2023/24 state budget had initially forecast about 110 schools losing exemptions from mid-2024, generating AUD 422.2m for the state across four years, but Andrews expects fewer schools will lose tax-free status, with consultation ongoing to decide the new threshold. The Catholic Education Commission of Victoria and Independent Schools Victoria supported the premier's offer of dialogue but insisted on consultation as a priority.
Victorian businesses with a national payroll above AUD 10m will begin paying an additional payroll tax of 0.5% from July, and those with a payroll above AUD 100m will be charged an additional 0.5% levy. However, payroll tax exemptions for hospitals, charities, local councils, and parental and volunteer leave wages will still apply. Treasurer Tim Pallas said job creation was a core part of Victoria's broader economic recovery plans, with employment increasing by nearly 440,000 since the pandemic's economic low point in Sep-20. Secretary David Martine assured that unemployment would not rise as a result of the AUD 31.5bn COVID-19 debt-repayment plan.

Breitbart: Weingarten: Parents Are 'Getting Really Angry' at DeSantis' Education Policies
Randi Weingarten claims people are angry about Florida Gov. Ron DeSantis' education policies, particularly book bans and eliminating social emotional learning. Parents are upset and questioning why this is being taken away from their children. Weingarten notes that there are processes in place to figure out curriculum and that parents should have a say through the school board.
