Fox News: Texas DPS arrests Gulf Cartel operative for alleged human smuggling into US
Texas DPS arrested a Mexican Gulf Cartel operative, Jose Juan Eufracio Medina, for allegedly smuggling five illegal immigrants from Mexico, El Salvador, and Guatemala into the U.S. Medina allegedly guided the group across the Rio Grande River and helped them scale the border wall with a ladder. Although he denied helping the group cross the border, he admitted to holding the ladder to prevent them from falling. Medina told the trooper he paid $1,000 to cross into the U.S. and works for the Gulf Cartel.

Prosecutors in Manhattan have called for a prison sentence of at least 25 years for former New York gynecologist Robert Hadden, convicted of sexually assaulting dozens of patients during his quarter century career. Prosecutors called Hadden a "serial sexual predator disguised as a doctor" who was able to commit dozens of acts of abuse against his patients, "all while hiding behind his power as a doctor and enjoying professional and financial success". Hadden's defense lawyers have called for a sentence of three years, but prosecutors have asked that the judge hear statements from Hadden's victims before setting a sentence.
