On The Water: Doormat Fluke from the Beach
Doormat Fluke from the Beach
Summer flounder or "fluke" can be caught by shore-bound anglers using simple rigs and light surfcasting setups. These fish are ideally suited for hunting in the surf zone due to their aggressive nature and unique characteristics. The prime time to catch doormat-size fluke from the surf is during late spring, when they take up residence in inshore waters near regions like jetties, pilings, docks, inlets, and holes and channel edges of the back bay.

Fox News: Appeals court allows NJ handgun carry bans to mostly take effect
Appeals court allows NJ handgun carry bans to mostly take effect
A federal appeals court has permitted New Jersey's restrictive handgun carry law to go back into effect, allowing state officials to enforce a ban on carrying guns in certain places, such as within 100 feet of certain public gatherings, zoos, and bars. The court's ruling deals a blow to Second Amendment activists and delivers a win for Democratic Governor Phil Murphy and his administration. Other parts of the law, such as the general ban on carrying firearms on private property where the owner has not posted signage permitting concealed weapons, remain blocked.

The 2022 law stemmed directly from the US Supreme Court's June decision that struck down a New York state law that required people to show proper cause to get a carry license. The ruling affected states with similar laws, including New Jersey, where carry applicants had to show justifiable need to get a permit. Democratic state lawmakers and Murphy acted swiftly to ban firearms from being carried in designated "sensitive places," such as parks and casinos, after the Supreme Court's decision. The ban is intended to make New Jersey a safer state with lower rates of gun violence.

American Thinker: Leftist rage against courthouse artist, claiming he drew Trump too handsome
Leftist rage against courthouse artist, claiming he drew Trump too handsome
Leftists were outraged at courtroom artist William Hennessey's portrayal of Donald Trump at his arraignment in Miami, claiming Hennessey made Trump look too young and handsome. Some Twitter users went so far as to link Hennessey's Facebook page and encourage others to harass him. This little ragefest shows that leftists have too much time on their hands and are all in on looks-ism. The leftists raged about Trump's pictures being too handsome for their expectations, but hand-drawn sketches are not easily manipulated like photographs. The left wanted to see a sweaty, distressed Trump, but Hennessey just draws what he sees. That prompted vile attacks on the blameless artist, including doxxing and threats.
