Breitbart: 170K Migrants Apprehended in May at Southern Border Doubles Biden's Inaugural Month
170K Migrants Apprehended in May at Southern Border Doubles Biden's Inaugural Month
Border Patrol agents apprehended over 169,000 migrants who crossed the southwest border with Mexico in May, more than double the numbers from January. Additionally, an estimated 51,000 migrants were classified as "known got-aways," bringing the total to over 220,000. While the Biden administration has credited new policies for the decrease in apprehensions from April, it is a 125% increase from January. CBP officials continue to assert that the immigration system is "safe, orderly, and humane," but Border Patrol sector chiefs refute this claim and blame the CDC's Title 42 program for high numbers in May. Migrants from Mexico and Central American countries accounted for most of the migrants, but an unprecedented 12,480 Chinese nationals were also apprehended.

Fox News: Senators urge Biden admin to slap sanctions, visa bans on Mexican officials to force action against cartels
Senators urge Biden admin to slap sanctions, visa bans on Mexican officials to force action against cartels
Republican senators are urging the Biden administration to impose sanctions and visa bans against Mexican officials who do not act against the cartels, who are infiltrating the US with fentanyl and other drugs, posing a risk to the safety and security of the American people. Among the senators are James Risch, Marco Rubio, and Ted Cruz, and they are requesting that the US becomes more assertive in its actions with the Mexican government. They suggest imposing sanctions and visa bans on Mexican officials who support or enable the cartels. The Biden administration has worked to fortify the US relationship with Mexico and has been critical of Mexico's lack of cooperation on the matter, however, the senators believe that stronger measures such as sanctions should be used.

Biden mocks Second Amendment supporters, says you 'need an F-16’ to take on government
President Biden reiterated his views on gun violence and the Second Amendment at a fundraising event in California, saying Americans do not need AR-15s, and that certain weapons just can't be owned. He stated that Second Amendment supporters would need an F-16 to challenge the U.S. government and pointed out the popularity of AR-15s among gun makers, citing their cheap production and high-profit margins. Biden has repeatedly urged Congress to pass gun control measures since taking office, including signing into law the most significant gun control bill in nearly 30 years.

Justice Alito Launches Preemptive Strike On Leftist Hit Piece
Justice Samuel Alito responded to media outlet ProPublica's accusations that he violated federal law by accepting the gift of a "luxury fishing vacation" from Republican billionaire Paul Singer and then presiding over cases involving Singer's financial interests. Alito insists he was unaware that Singer had any connection to the cases and, even if he had known, recusal would not have been required or appropriate. The attack on Alito is part of a larger campaign by Democrats and their allies to undermine and delegitimize the Supreme Court, which currently has a majority of Republican-appointed justices.

John Durham Fires Back At Dem Questioning His Reputation
John Durham, special counsel, was scolded by House Democrat Steve Cohen about his association with Donald Trump and William Barr, only to receive a round of applause with his reply that his concern about his reputation is with the people he respects, his family and his Lord, and he is comfortable with his reputation with them. Durham was before the House Judiciary Committee to discuss his report criticizing the FBI for how it conducted its investigation into the 2016 US Presidential Election. Cohen pressed Durham on his opinion of Trump and Barr, but Durham refused to opine on Trump’s character.

Mad Respect: John Durham's Response to Rep. Steve Cohen's Dig at His Reputation Was Chef's Kiss
Representative Steve Cohen (D-TN) criticized Special Counsel John Durham for not investigating the Trump campaign's alleged collusion with Russia during the 2016 election. Duraham explained that his assignment was to look at the conduct of the intelligence community agencies, not to conduct a separate investigation that was done by the House or the Senate or Director Mueller. In response, Cohen got personal, insinuating that Durham's reputation would be damaged, to which Durham responded that he's comfortable with his reputation with his family, respected people, and Lord.

This marks the second attempt by Republicans to formally censure Schiff and will be revoted on Friday.

The Epoch Times: Durham: FBI Should Not Have Launched Full Investigation Into Trump Campaign
Durham: FBI Should Not Have Launched Full Investigation Into Trump Campaign
The FBI's full investigation into then-candidate Donald Trump's campaign based on unverified intelligence was not a legitimate basis, according to special counsel John Durham. The FBI opted to open a full investigation following information received from Australian officials that Trump campaign adviser George Papadopoulos had suggested that Trump's team had received help from Russia to release information damaging to Democrats. Durham stated that the FBI did not check its own databases before launching the full investigation. The bureau also did not interview Australian diplomats, and FBI officials opened the investigation quickly without considering an assessment or preliminary investigation.

Democrats have accused him of banning books, which he denies. Republicans have criticized a "book ban" coordinator appointed by the White House. The coordinator was intended to address the threat posed by book bans in school libraries, which the White House says "erodes our democracy."

Durham dismissed the attack, claiming he cares only about what people he respects, his family, and "my Lord" think about his reputation. During the House Judiciary Committee hearing, Durham detailed inappropriate behavior among Democratic officials, US intelligence agencies, and the media in launching the investigation into alleged collusion between Trump and Russia leading to a distraction through his term.

Western media has largely presented a narrative of Ukrainian dominance in the conflict, but alternate viewpoints have been largely absent from mainstream media. Advocates for diplomacy argue that a failed attempt last year could have been a more sensible path than warfare, and it's crucial to facilitate a dialogue to pave the way for peace. The human toll of the conflict is dire, and a diplomatic solution respecting the sovereignty of all involved nations is the need of the hour.

Foreign Policy: Chinese Firms Are Evading Chip Controls
Chinese Firms Are Evading Chip Controls
China may be accessing restricted computer chips despite export controls targeting their acquisition. Blacklisted entities are reportedly obtaining chips through smuggling and cloud rentals, while small Chinese businesses are using smuggling routes through neighbouring countries. To reduce access to national security-sensitive supercomputing, the US Bureau of Industry and Security needs to patch current controls on physical exports and address the process of shell company creation. It is also proposed that a random chip sampling programme be established, seller registration be required, notifications be sent for secondhand sales or lost/damaged chips, and that end-use checks confirming current registered ownership be conducted. Furthermore, cloud providers should implement “Know Your Customer” checks for customers using large quantities of export-controlled chips.

‘Sustainable Jobs’ Transition Sparks Fear of Oil and Gas Industry Phase-Out
The Canadian government's proposed Sustainable Jobs Act is causing concerns that the oil and gas industry will be phased out in favor of green energy. The legislation aims to create a transition towards sustainable jobs with a definition of "sustainable" that remains open to evolution. Critics fear that the "just transition" for workers and their communities will damage Canada's energy revenue, transportation and manufacturing industries with the expansion of public spending. On the other hand, supporters and the government will maintain workers and communities at the forefront of the decision-making process. The sustainability of the traditional energy industry is disputed as unconventional energy becomes more popular in the fight towards net-zero emission and a climate-resilient future.

LSU eliminates Tennessee from College World Series behind Nate Ackenhausen's six shutout innings
Nate Ackenhausen’s first start for LSU resulted in a 5-0 victory against Tennessee at the College World Series, setting up a game against No. 1 seed Wake Forest. Ackenhausen, LSU’s third starter of the season, pitched six innings, combining with Riley Cooper for the team’s 11th shutout of the year, and was taken out after allowing four hits, hitting three batters and striking out seven. LSU eliminated Tennessee, which failed to score for the first time in 133 games, and will face Wake Forest again Wednesday in the hope of reaching the CWS finals.

Jay Johnson texted Nate Ackenhausen hours before the game to let him know he would make his first start for LSU at the College World Series. At the last minute, Johnson decided to go with Ackenhausen, who had logged 22 1/3 innings over 15 relief appearances this season, because the team had won 13 out of the 15 games he appeared in. Ackenhausen outdueled Drew Beam, a projected high pick in the 2024 baseball draft, to secure LSU’s victory over Tennessee, throwing 93 pitches and ensuring the bullpen remained fresh for the following games against Wake Forest.

Forbes: Madonna Might Want To Copy One Aspect Of Taylor Swift’s The Eras Tour
Madonna Might Want To Copy One Aspect Of Taylor Swift’s The Eras Tour
Madonna's upcoming tour is said to celebrate her historic back catalog. However, with an extensive discography, it is impossible to include every hit in one tour, leaving some fans to be disappointed if they don't hear their favorite songs. To address this challenge, Madonna could adopt a similar strategy to Taylor Swift's approach to her ongoing The Eras Tour, performing one or two extra tunes per night not usually included in the setlist to give many of her lesser-known hits a chance to shine and appease fans who have been eagerly waiting to hear their favorites. This would keep the concert experience fresh and exhilarating for her super fans while also providing promotional opportunities.

By letting fans know that the setlist will change slightly, Madonna would encourage them to return to the show, increasing ticket sales and elevating the excitement surrounding the tour. Incorporating this strategy would make the tour more enjoyable for the musicians and Madonna herself, ensuring her die-hard supporters remain happy. With social media's influence, the impact of performing a song just once can be significant, generating media attention that spills over into headlines in the music press. This publicity would not only boost ticket sales but also increase streams and sales of Madonna's songs.
