National Review: The Corner: Shock: Conservative-Voting State Has Originalist Judiciary
Florida's Supreme Court has shifted to the right under Governor Ron DeSantis, who has appointed five of the seven sitting justices. Critics accuse DeSantis of stacking the court with conservative judges, but Republicans have controlled Florida's Senate, House and governorship for decades. DeSantis has pushed for judges who apply the law "according to its original intent" and without modern political or cultural lenses. This approach has been criticized by some who argue that it could lead to the retraction of legal protections for minority communities. However, proponents of this approach see it as crucial for maintaining checks and balances and preventing unmoored political activism.

Fox News: China in high-level talks for military training facility in Cuba to station troops off US shores: report
China and Cuba are in high-level discussions to open a joint military training facility on Cuba's northern coast, less than 100 miles off US shores. US intelligence suggests that the proposal is part of Project 141, an initiative by China's People's Liberation Army to set up a global network of military outposts. The Biden administration has contacted Cuban officials to stall the agreement and dissuade any course of action. The prospect of a facility could result in China permanently hosting troops in Cuba and broadening intelligence gathering against the US.
Secretary of State Antony Blinken spent the past two days in Beijing meeting with Chinese President Xi Jinping. Blinken told reporters afterward that the US does not support Taiwan independence, yet remains committed to meeting its responsibilities under the Taiwan Relations Act, including making sure that Taiwan has the ability to defend itself. Blinken condemned the PRC's provocative actions in the Taiwan Strait, as well as in the South and East China Seas. During Blinken's visit, both countries discussed a range of global and regional security issues, including US concerns with PRC intelligence activities in Cuba.

National Review: The Corner: Electric Vehicles: Hertz Will Put You in the Driver’s Seat
Car rental companies are increasingly offering electric vehicles (EVs) as an option for renters, but many customers are unprepared for the range anxiety associated with driving an EV in unfamiliar territory. Only 4% of Americans own an EV, but Hertz plans to have a quarter of its fleet electric by the end of next year, suggesting rental firms are buying into the idea of EVs more quickly than drivers, leading to fears of surprise “upgrades” for renters. While some leasing experts argue that EVs are easier than petrol cars to maintain because they have fewer moveable parts, many consumers report issues finding public chargers in remote locations, long charging times and a lack of expertise around different charging standards.
Flag And Cross: Tesla Model Y May Dethrone Ford F-150 As America's Best-Loved Vehicle In The Near Future
Ford F-150 is the top-selling vehicle in the US, followed closely by Tesla's Model Y, which doubled its sales to 127,541 in the first four months of 2023. Tesla's overall registrations for the period reached 211,842, with the Model Y accounting for over half of that figure. Tesla dominates the overall battery-electric vehicle market with a 60.8% share, followed by Chevrolet with a 7.1% share and Ford with 4.9%. This matters as the Model Y has made a strong impression, being ranked as the sixth best-selling vehicle in the US in 2022 and surpassing Toyota's RAV4 and Corolla models to secure the top spot in global sales rankings.

The Federalist: RFK Jr. Critics Think They’re Too Good For Vaccine Debate
Joe Rogan offered $100,000 to vaccine expert Peter Hotez to debate Robert F. Kennedy Jr. on the efficacy of vaccines. RFK Jr. drew attention to flawed vaccine studies and criticized Big Pharma's narrative on vaccines. Hotez and others in the medical field refuse to debate, claiming they are above it, while the elite media demonizes Rogan and RFK Jr. for questioning the establishment. The RFK Jr. vaccine debate is an invitation for Americans to do their own research and a reminder to be wary of those who wish to silence discourse.

Fox News: Schools are scaring our kids to death with this indoctrination program
Schools are failing to teach basic reading and math skills but succeeding at climate change indoctrination. Students are more concerned about climate change than other pressing issues like China's aggression, drug abuse, and national debt. This is leading to a rise in teen depression, suicide, lower productivity, and drug addiction, as well as a severe birth dearth in American history. The fear-mongering is causing children to become anxious about the future and is leading to a new syndrome called "eco-anxiety," which may be contributing to these dysfunctions.

Forbes: Chiefs Super Bowl Winner, Restauranteur Carlos Dunlap Plans To Play In 2023
Carlos Dunlap, the 34-year-old defensive end of the Kansas City Chiefs, is a free agent who has not yet decided if he'll continue playing in the NFL. He had a successful 2022 season and is waiting for a potential offer. Dunlap had accepted a lesser role during the last campaign, which helped mentor younger players including rookie George Karlfaftis and he expects a similar role next season. The Chiefs have not closed the door on a potential return and Dunlap would welcome that opportunity to help the team win again.
Dunlap opened his new brunch restaurant, Honey Uninhibited, located in Covington, Kentucky, which is part of Greater Cincinnati, where he played the first 11 years of his career. Honey Uninhibited's second location has a similar vibe to the original one in Miami, with a unique ambience featuring a green wall and a hip-hop vibe. The most popular items on the menu include chicken and waffles, shrimp and grits and lobster truffle mac and cheese. His hospitality group has purchased another restaurant location in Miami's Coconut Grove and has plans for three franchises in Charleston. Dunlap would like to eventually have restaurants in Seattle and Kansas City, but he doesn't foresee playing for the Bengals next season, considering the Bengals' depth on the defensive line.
Forbes: Milwaukee Bucks 2023-24 Offseason Handbook
The Milwaukee Bucks have a crucial offseason ahead, requiring a delicate balance between short-term success and long-term team-building. The team is limited in its ability to improve, primarily through retaining the current squad, given the team's poor postseason result. The team also faces restrictions on improving outside of the second apron, which could hinder their ability to acquire suitable assets; however, they are reportedly interested in acquiring a late first-round pick or early second in this year’s draft with their eyes set on an older wing who could make an immediate impact.
The team has several players with player options that will require immediate decisions to be made regarding their future with the team, including Khris Middleton, who has a $40.4 million player option. Additionally, several players will become unrestricted free agents, including Brook Lopez, who is a crucial player for the team and essential to the team's defense. The team will likely need to hard-cap themselves under the second apron to potentially use their taxpayer mid-level exception of $5 million for next year, enabling them to pay a free agent.
