The Right Scoop: WATCH: Trump releases his own campaign ad lying about DeSantis
Trump accuses Governor DeSantis of locking down Florida during the pandemic calling him "Lockdown Ron"; a new ad released by Trump himself shows him criticizing DeSantis. However, this contradicts past praise Trump has given DeSantis for keeping Florida "open and free".
Front Page Magazine: The Corrupt Hunter Biden Plea Deal is a Cover-Up
The Hunter Biden investigation for tax evasion has resulted in probation, rather than prison time, due to his last name. Despite the exposure of shell companies and millions of dollars in wire transfers, the supposed "sophisticated" setups have not been addressed. The narrowing down of the case to Hunter's taxes and gun charge ensures that any pathways leading to the rest of the Biden family are cut off and protects Joe Biden.
Fox News: Kodak Black's lawyer slams Hunter Biden plea deal after rapper sentenced to 3+ years for same crime
Lawyer for Kodak Black slams the lack of jail time for Hunter Biden in his federal crimes case. Black, who was sentenced to over three years in prison for the same federal weapons crime charge was pardoned in 2021 by then-President Trump. The Justice Department announced a prison-free plea deal reached by the president’s son for two misdemeanor charges of willful failure to pay federal income tax and a pretrial diversion agreement for a firearm possession charge. Lawyer Bradford Cohen criticized the deal and the diversion program's inclusion, which he said was extremely rare in federal cases.
Front Page Magazine: Hunter's Sweet Plea Deal
Hunter Biden has agreed to plead guilty to two minor tax crimes and admit to the facts of a gun charge, which will likely keep him out of jail. This is seen as a token punishment for Hunter's blatant influence-peddling, and to counter accusations of a two-tier justice system. Hunter was paid millions of dollars from a corrupt Ukrainian oligarch for his position on the board of Burisma Holdings. Hunter's position on the board was prima facie evidence of influence-peddling and the Obama administration knew it was problematic but did nothing about it. Hunter's new career as an artist has also attracted suspicion, with his paintings selling at eye-watering prices, raising questions about access to the president. The establishment seems unconcerned about Hunter's corruption compared to their relentless persecution of Donald Trump.
Fox News: New Hampshire Gov. Sununu signs $15.2B 'miracle' budget into law
New Hampshire's $15.2 billion state budget was signed into law by Republican Gov. Chris Sununu, following a rare display of bipartisan support. This is the first time in two decades that lawmakers sent the governor a budget without the compromise between two chambers, with notable cooperation shown by the 400-member House.
Breitbart: Tucker: Hunter Biden, Father's Administration Represent 'Inversion of Virtue'
Tucker Carlson criticizes the plea deal that Hunter Biden received for charges of tax evasion and violating federal gun laws. Carlson argues that the deal highlights a two-tier justice system where those in power receive no penalties for their actions, while the average American would face imprisonment. He also claims that the Biden administration is promoting values that are derisive towards achievement, intelligence, honesty, self-control, and humility. Carlson suggests that the whole system is unfair and that Hunter Biden should have been charged under the Foreign Agent Registration Act (FARA) but escaped because of his privileged background.
National Review: Trump Weighing Whether to Participate in GOP Debates: ‘Why Would I Let These People Take Shots at Me’
Trump may not participate in GOP debates, citing his lead in the polls and questioning why he'd allow other candidates to "take shots" at him. He is yet to make a definitive decision on participation, and criticized Fox News, which is hosting the first debate, as a "hostile" network. Trump took shots at other Republican contenders, including Asa Hutchinson, Chris Christie, Nikki Haley and Ron DeSantis, whom he called "DeSanctimonious." He also defended his own leadership during Covid-19 and suggested the disease spread from China due to incompetence in the Chinese government.
Fox News: Evers signs bipartisan sales tax bill aimed at sparing Milwaukee from bankruptcy
Milwaukee has been granted the ability to raise local sales taxes to avoid bankruptcy after Governor Tony Evers signed a bipartisan proposal into law. The new law also sends greater funding to K-12 public schools and private schools that accept voucher students. The funds are coming from the state's 5-cent sales tax, and aid would increase along with sales tax revenue.
Milwaukee will receive 36% more money overall, and every other smaller city, town, village and county in Wisconsin will receive more funds as well. The bill signing ceremony was attended by a bipartisan group of state lawmakers, Milwaukee leaders and local officials in Wausau. The new law also forbids local communities from putting advisory referenda questions on the ballot, except those related to certain projects that would be funded with property tax money.

Flag And Cross: Ritholtz CEO Sees Signs Of Life In Crypto Market As Institutional Investors Eye Bitcoin ETFs
The cryptocurrency market is entering a "new phase" and appears to be tilting towards the right path, with momentum drivers for Bitcoin and Ethereum. EDX Markets, backed by Charles Schwab, Fidelity, and Citadel Securities, launched trading in select assets on Tuesday, targeting institutional traders by matching buyers with sellers and facilitating exchanges without taking custody. There is talk that Fidelity is "readying something seismic," and BlackRock filed an application for what would be the first spot Bitcoin ETF in the U.S., with over 500 approvals over the years. The Epoch Times: Senators Spent a Collective Total of $500,000 for Office Art Rentals Since 2016: Taxpayers' Group
Canadian senators have spent over $500,000 since 2016 on art rentals and expenses for their offices, according to the Canadian Taxpayer’s Federation (CTF). The CTF reviewed expenses from 52 senators and found Canadian taxpayers were being charged $6,600 a month for art to be displayed in senators' offices. Under Senate expense rules, public servants can rent art from suppliers at approved rates, with rental, delivery, installation, removal, and insurance covered by office budgets. The CTF also noted that the Canadian Council for the Arts, which supplied most of the art, received $510 million in federal funding.
Independent senator Mary Coyle billed the Senate for $28,535 in art expenses between 2018 and 2022, and said that she used a combination of art that she owned and rented. Coyle added that visitors to her office appreciated the art, and she is proud to share it. David Adams Richards, another independent senator, told The Epoch Times that he used art that was “warehoused and unseen by artists who were no longer in the public eye,” but had decided to remove it and replace it with pieces from artist friends. Denise Batters had the highest expense on the list with annual bills of approximately $5,000, while the expenses of the Canadian Senate have jumped by 70 percent since Prime Minister Justin Trudeau has been in power.
The Epoch Times: Chinese Automakers Start EV Price War in Australia
Chinese automakers MG Motor and BYD are starting an electric vehicle (EV) price war in Australia, offering models for under $40,000. MG Motor's entry-level model is the first EV to come to the Australian market costing less than $40,000 and BYD Dolphin, an electric hatchback with an estimated range over 420 kilometres, is expected to cost between $30,000 and $40,000. The sub-$40,000 price is expected to bring price competition to the industry and help make EV adoption more affordable for Australians.
Experts predict that the Australian government will face a considerable battery waste problem as the country seeks to achieve net zero emissions. The volume of EV waste could reach 30,000 tonnes by 2030 before soaring to 1.6 million tonnes by 2050. Despite these predictions, the country does not have the industrial capacity, standards, and regulations to recycle battery waste properly, meaning many experts are calling on the government to establish a stewardship program where consumers must pay extra costs for the safe disposal of EV batteries.

Fox News: Titanic exhibition producer spoke with CEO of OceanGate before tourist sub went missing
Five people, including French mariner and Titanic expert Paul-Henry Nargeolet, are missing after the tourist submersible they were travelling in, the Titan, disappeared on its way to the Titanic wreckage. Tom Zaller, producer of Titanic: The Exhibition, had spoken with OceanGate CEO Stockton Rush before he and the others on board went missing. Zaller had hoped to expand the exhibition with footage from previous dives. Zaller said he exchanged emails with Rush before the dive and the pair talked about how they would describe the journey. Titanic: The Exhibition opens in Los Angeles this month.
The submersible Titan was reported missing on Sunday night and is now overdue, according to Canada’s Joint Rescue Coordination Center. Nargeolet is director of underwater research for E/M group and RMS Titanic, Inc. He has completed 37 dives to the wreck and supervised the recovery of artifacts. Zaller said Nargeolet is "probably one of the foremost experts on the Titanic." The other three people on board the Titan are British businessman and aviator Hamish Harding and father-and-son Shahzada and Suleman Dawood, members of one of Pakistan’s most prominent families. Rescuers are racing against the clock because the oxygen supply could run out by Thursday morning.

Five people are stranded in a submersible used for Titanic exploration and are likely undergoing psychological distress as they wait for rescue. A former Navy psychologist explained that panic, uncertainty and the need to conserve oxygen are part of the situation they are likely dealing with. The sub was reported overdue on Sunday night, and the ongoing search, which covers an area larger than Connecticut, has not yet found any signs of the vessel. The sub, operated by OceanGate Expeditions, has enough life support for the five individuals to survive for 96 hours, but the Coast Guard says there is only 41 hours of breathable air left onboard.
