Fox News: Arizona Rep. Biggs raises alarm about unattended ports of entry 'left open' at U.S.-Canada border
Rep. Andy Biggs, co-chair of the House Border Security Caucus, has expressed concern about unattended ports of entry along the northern US border with Canada. Reports indicate that ports of entry are being left open for extended periods of time, with citizens concerned about the lack of supervision and surveillance from CBP personnel. There have been over 98,000 migrant encounters at the northern border so far this fiscal year, which marks a significant increase from previous years. Biggs has called on DHS Secretary Alejandro Mayorkas and acting CBP Commissioner Troy Miller to provide information about staffing levels and the hours of operation for ports of entry.
Earlier this year, Border Patrol called for agents to volunteer to deal with a 856% surge in encounters at the northern border, with some border sectors experiencing significant increases in migrant encounters. House Republicans have launched a Northern Border Security Caucus to tackle ongoing challenges at the border. Recently, the US secured a deal with Canada to return illegal migrants crossing the northern border. Rep. Biggs has criticized the Biden administration for dismantling northern border security and allowing inadequately supervised or unmanned ports of entry, particularly given recent intelligence reports revealing an unprecedented surge in illegal border crossings, including by foreign nationals from terror-prone countries.
Fox News: FBI terror watchlist arrests, encounters at southern border for FY 23 hits all-time record
Border Patrol arrests of individuals on FBI's terror watchlist at southern border hit record high in FY 2023, with 125 arrests as of end of May, up from 98 in FY 2022. The Terrorist Screening Dataset (TSDS) contains sensitive information on terrorist identities. Although Republican lawmakers and border officials are concerned over the numbers, the percentage remains small when compared to the millions of migrants entering US in recent years.
Breitbart: Democrats Beg Biden: Bring 'Unjustly Deported' Illegal Aliens Back to U.S.
Democrats are demanding a streamlined process for illegal aliens who have been unjustly deported to return to the US. In a letter to the Department of Homeland Security, they argue that establishing a centralized unit to review appeals would bring "fairness and credibility" to the immigration system and support family and community unity. The request follows a significant reduction in deportations under President Biden. Taxpayers are already spending millions of dollars on legal assistance to help illegal aliens evade deportation.

The Federalist Papers: We Know Now Who Will Be Moderating Fox News' First GOP Primary Debate
Fox News has announced that Bret Baier and Martha MacCallum will be moderating the first Republican presidential primary debate to occur on August 23 at Fiserv Forum. The Republican National Committee is maintaining a requirement for participants to pledge support for the party’s eventual nominee. The debate will feature 13 Republicans who have announced their candidacy for president, although former President Donald Trump, the front-runner, has not committed to participating in the event.
The Epoch Times: Comer Downplays Importance of Hunter Biden Plea Deal, Says Focus Remains on President's Business Deals
House Oversight and Accountability Committee Chairman James Comer (R-Ky.) downplayed the significance of Hunter Biden's pending plea deal with the Department of Justice, saying his focus remains on uncovering President Joe Biden's business dealings. Hunter Biden plans to plead guilty to violating a law that forbids people from "willfully fail[ing]” to file tax returns or pay taxes. Biden will also submit a guilty plea for illegal possession of a firearm, which was prohibited to him due to his addiction to controlled substance drugs.
Despite the charges against Hunter Biden, Comer says he remains focused on his mission to uncover the truth of Biden's business dealings with foreign nationals. Evidence unearthed by a trusted FBI informant alleges that the president accepted at least $5 million as a bribe from a foreign national, but more recent allegations put that figure at at least $10 million, in part through the use of shell companies.
Red State: Statistics: Figures Can Lie, and Liars Can Figure
Statistics can be useful, but also manipulated for political agendas. Democrats claim gun violence is worse in Republican states, but different data sets can tell different stories. Murder rates at the county level show a different picture than at the state level, indicating crime should be examined at the county level. Suicide is often included in "gun deaths," which is a mental health issue, not a law enforcement issue. The left's focus on blaming the weapon over the criminal may be obstructing successful policy solutions.
The Epoch Times: GOP Presidential Candidates Weigh In on Hunter Biden’s Plea Deal
Hunter Biden will plead guilty to two misdemeanor charges of willfully failing to pay income taxes and enter a pretrial diversion agreement to potentially avoid conviction on a third felony firearm offense. Several Republican contenders, including former President Donald Trump and Florida Gov. Ron DeSantis, expressed their anger and frustration with the nation's "broken" justice system on social media. Others, like former Arkansas Gov. Asa Hutchinson, called for transparency in the investigation and asked for a special prosecutor to investigate the whistleblower allegations.
The Epoch Times: Barebones Hunter Biden Indictment Contrasts with Treatment of Manafort
Hunter Biden has pled guilty to two misdemeanor counts of tax evasion. Commentators argue that the Department of Justice's treatment of Biden is unfair compared to Paul Manafort's case, which included charges of failing to register as a foreign agent, lying, conspiracy to commit said crimes, as well as a conspiracy to launder money. Republican lawmakers claim that there is evidence of criminal activity in Hunter Biden's foreign business dealings but that the indictment reveals nothing. The charges may be light enough for Biden to avoid prison altogether.
Daily Wire: Russian Collusion And The Death Of Journalism
Investigative journalist Ashley Rindsberg claims that the mainstream media's reporting on the Russian Collusion story was poorly sourced, distorted, and fabricated. In a review conducted by the Columbia Review in 2023, every major claim made about Trump's alleged collusion was found to be false. The media was found to have fed a grotesque lie to the public, destroying their credibility and proving that the only confirmed collusion was between the mainstream media, the Hillary Clinton campaign, the Democratic Party, and elements in government agencies.
Red State: Comer Drops More Info About Two New Forms He Reviewed in Biden Probe, Reveals What's Next
House Oversight Committee Chair James Comer (R-KY) and Ranking Member Rep. Jamie Raskin (D-MD) have viewed two more FBI documents/forms associated with the Biden family bribery allegations. Comer revealed the documents were heavily redacted and wants unredacted copies. He also has more key witnesses coming forward for depositions and believes that impeachment may be necessary given the uncovering of these schemes. The FBI delay in releasing documents and lack of investigation into credible informant reports warrant reform and accountability for these agencies.
PJ Media: RFK Jr. Is Really Scaring Them Now: LA Times Says He’s a Threat to ‘Our Democracy’
Robert F. Kennedy Jr. is causing a stir among political and media elites, challenging conventional categorization of political candidates in a contested Democrat party primary. The Left Coast Times refers to him as "a threat to your health - and our democracy", which confirms that when they talk about "our democracy", they don't actually mean anything democratic at all. The key point is that the Leftists are not referring to any kind of democracy but their own hegemony. The only "democracy" that involves one candidate receiving the forced adulation of the masses and reelection by acclimation from all those who don't want to end up in the gulag is the type of North Korea.
Newsbusters: ABC and CBS Use Hunter Plea Deal to Exonerate ‘Protective’ Joe Biden
ABC and CBS focused on President Joe Biden's close relationship with his son Hunter after he pleaded guilty to tax fraud charges, suggesting that the President believes his son did nothing wrong and bemoaning the investigation's negative effect on him because of this connection. ABC's Mary Bruce mentioned Hunter's struggle with addiction, likening it to that of many American families. CBS' Ed O'Keefe portrayed the President as resilient and strong for coping with his son's alleged crimes, emphasizing his trust in his son. Instead of dwelling on Hunter's illegal actions, both news shows depicted the President as a supportive father, helping his son through a difficult time.
The Right Scoop: EPISODE 5: “It’s safer to be the president’s son than his opponent” – Tucker Carlson on Twitter [VIDEO]
Hunter Biden, son of President Joe Biden, only pled guilty to two misdemeanor tax evasion charges and a federal gun charge with a sentence of diversion. This treatment shows that for children of those in power, there are no penalties, only benefits. It is like being a "princeling." The rules apply to regular people, not to the children of powerful people.
Breitbart: Bret Baier and Martha MacCallum to Moderate First GOP Debate
Bret Baier and Martha MacCallum will moderate the first Republican presidential debate in August 2024 in Milwaukee, Wisconsin. Fox News will partner with Rumble and the Young Americas Foundation for the live stream. Qualifying candidates must sign RNC pledges and agree to support the nominee, and meet polling and donor criteria. It's unclear if former President Donald Trump will participate.
Fox News: Chris Christie punches back at Trump: Being insulted by him 'is a compliment to me'
Former New Jersey Governor and Republican presidential candidate, Chris Christie, hit back at Donald Trump over his claim that he could resolve the Russia-Ukraine war overnight if he is elected president in 2024. Christie called the sentiment "ridiculous" and claimed Trump was a "puppet of Putin." He also criticized the former president's claim about not being able to sort through boxes at Mar-a-Lago that held classified documents and some of his personal items.
Trump responded by attacking Christie's record, stating that he would not be able to resolve the Russia-Ukraine war as he "got out of New Jersey with a 9% approval rating." He also claimed he had a good relationship with Putin. Christie subsequently called out Trump, citing that he had "no idea what he was talking about." The two have traded barbs before, with Christie recently labelling Trump a "juvenile" and a "baby."

Flag And Cross: 'Chemical Attack' Leaves Farmer Devastated: 'This Is Not Just My Livelihood We're Talking About'
A farmer in Jones, Oklahoma, woke up to find his two-acre farm, which feeds over 100 families, dead and dying. Michael Ruzycki is devastated after having worked 16-20 hour days only to see his crops, valued at $80,000-$100,000, wither away. Suspected to have been a chemical attack, the community rallied behind the farm, supporting it by purchasing cut flowers and donating to two separate GoFundMe campaigns, which had raised over $7,000 in total by the 14th. Ruzycki expressed his overwhelming gratitude on Facebook, thanking everyone who helped rebuild his farm, which he vows to restore despite the ordeal.
Flag And Cross: Gayle King Gets Roasted for Insulting 'White Guy' Who Dared Take Off Work on Juneteenth
CBS co-host Gayle King received backlash after making a joke on Juneteenth National Independence Day about how she and her black co-hosts were working while their white co-worker, Tony Dokoupil, was off. She questioned why Dokoupil was off since it was their day. Many viewers found the joke tasteless, and James Golden, also known as “Bo Snerdley” on Rush Limbaugh's show, even shared the clip on Twitter, which generated an unhappy response from Rush fans. People pointed out that Juneteenth is a national holiday for all Americans, celebrating the end of slavery. Some even aspire to make the celebration more inclusive by acknowledging the countless white Americans who fought and died to end slavery.
Spectator USA: Meghan Markle is in a tailspin
The South Park episode mocking Harry and Meghan has proved brutally effective social satire. Since the episode aired, Meghan has withdrawn from public life and their media empire is in trouble. Big deals with Spotify and Netflix have been axed, and it seems they are increasingly becoming a laughing stock among A-list celebrities. It's hard not to feel some sympathy for Meghan, but she seems to be at the end of the road reputationally. There may be a way to rebrand, but it's hard to imagine how that would be successful. Perhaps a period of silence and dedication to causes would be the best option.

Breitbart: Blinken: 'We Support' China Cutting Deals in Middle East Like Iran-Saudi Deal, But We're 'Preferred Partner for Virtually All' of Region
Secretary of State Antony Blinken stated during an NPR interview that while the US remains the preferred partner for Middle Eastern countries, China's initiatives to advance peace will be supported. Blinken recognized China's role in brokering a deal between Iran and Saudi Arabia, which has the possibility of reducing tensions between the nations. He also expressed support for China's engagement in finding a just and durable peace in Ukraine and applauded their peace principles that align with the US's own.
Breitbart: Report: U.S. Taxpayers Funded Wuhan Gain-of-Function Scientist Who Fell Ill at Start of COVID-19 Outbreak
Three researchers at the Wuhan Institute of Virology fell ill with an unknown illness in November 2019 prior to the outbreak of the coronavirus pandemic and were hospitalized with coronavirus symptoms, including a researcher who received $41 million in U.S. government grants for his work on modifying coronaviruses so they could bind to human cells. Funding came from USAID and the National Institute of Allergy and Infectious Diseases (NIAID), previously headed by Dr. Anthony Fauci, in the form of three grants. Two of the grants ran from 2014 to 2019; former Donald Trump cut off funding for the third in 2020. The lab leak theory has been a point of contention for officials and scientists.
Forbes: Three Convicted Of Stalking N.J. Family For Chinese Government
Three men, including a retired NYPD officer and two Chinese citizens, were found guilty of stalking a former Chinese official and his wife on behalf of the Chinese government as part of "Operation Fox Hunt," an effort to repatriate fugitives and regime critics. The harassment began in 2016 with the intention of getting the couple to return to China, where the former official was charged with corruption and embezzlement. One defendant was also convicted of acting as an illegal foreign agent.
The defendants denied knowing they were working for China, and one of the defendant's lawyers argued that the men were "used by a very sophisticated government." This is the first case of several related to “Operation Fox Hunt,” which the U.S. alleges is part of "transnational repression" designed to harass critics who no longer live in China. The Chinese government maintains that it is pursuing fugitives and denies using intimidation tactics.
The Epoch Times: US Has 'Deep Concerns' About CCP Base in Cuba: Blinken
The Biden administration expressed concerns over China's proposed military facilities in Cuba after downplaying their existence. The Chinese Communist Party (CCP) plans to develop a spying facility and military training base in Cuba. Secretary of State Antony Blinken raised the issue with China's leadership during his trip to Beijing, expressing the United States' deep concerns about Chinese intelligence or military activities in Cuba. The lack of transparency about CCP military activities close to the US homeland has raised alarm bells in Congress.
Fox News: Albanian police raid Iranian opposition camp, seize 150 computers
Albanian authorities raided an Iranian opposition group's camp and seized 150 computer devices allegedly linked to prohibited political activities, causing injuries to police and camp residents. Mujahedeen-e-Khalq members built the Ashraf-3 camp in 2019 when more than 2,500 exiles came to Albania. Albanian authorities disputed the death of a member during the raid at the Ashraf-3 camp near Manze caused by police actions. The agreement Albania signed with the group prohibits them from engaging in any political activity or breaking Albanian laws. The police officers were carrying out a court order to seize evidence in response to suspected political activities by Mujahedeen members.
The Mujahedeen-e-Khalq began as a Marxist group opposed to the rule of Iran's last shah, Mohammad Reza Pahlavi. The group supports the 1979 Iranian Islamic revolution but had a falling out with Grand Ayatollah Ruhollah Khomeini and turned against his clerical government, carrying out a series of bombings and assassinations within the Islamic Republic. After fleeing into Iraq, MEK members backed Saddam Hussein during his eight-year war with Iran in the 1980s, leading many Iranians to oppose the group. Tensions have existed between Iran and Albania since Albania offered MEK members a safe haven a decade ago. Last year, Albania suffered a cyberattack that it attributed to the Iranian Foreign Ministry, leading the government to suspend diplomatic relations with Iran. The United States, NATO, and the European Union vowed to support Albania in the dispute.
The Epoch Times: 'Careful Who You Connect With on LinkedIn': CSIS Details How CCP Targets Canadians
CSIS warns Canadians of Chinese intelligence services (PRCIS) targeting citizens inside and outside of China. The spy agency explains how the PRCIS approach and cultivate targets, beginning with online targeting, where they identify Canadians who are actively looking for jobs in strategic sectors or who have high-value credentials. The agency warns Canadians to be careful who they connect with on LinkedIn and all other online platforms to avoid becoming a target of PRCIS recruitment.
CSIS warns of foreign interference trying to influence Canadian policy, public opinion, and democratic institutions. The 2022 Public Report revealed that foreign states and their proxies have been targeting Canadian officials, communities, and the press to advance their interests and are exploiting social media to influence their intended targets. CSIS has seen instances where representatives from various investigatory bodies in China have come to Canada and used threats and intimidation to force "fugitive" Chinese Canadians and permanent residents to return to China. The agency has called for these threat actors to be held accountable for their clandestine activities.

Actor Samuel L. Jackson claims he had to motivate Brie Larson during the 2016 US Presidential Election after Trump's win brought her down. Jackson recalled bonding with Larson over the election during the filming of their movie "Kong: Skull Island". Larson's later comments on the importance of diversity and representation in movies earned her criticism and backlash from some fans, which Jackson dismissed as "dudes who hate strong women".
Jackson also provided a few choice words for former President Trump and the current GOP, claiming they represent the same racist "rednecks" that used to call him the N-word earlier in life and that the Republican Party "doesn’t care who you are" if you're not them, you're the enemy.

US Attorney for Delaware David Weiss will recommend probation for the two tax crimes, and Biden would be drug-free for two years and agree never to own a gun again. According to Hunter's criminal defense lawyer, "Hunter believes it is important to take responsibility for these mistakes he made during a period of turmoil and addiction in his life."
Breitbart: Rapper Kodak Black's Lawyer Slams Hunter Biden Plea Deal: '2 Tiers of Justice'
Kodak Black’s attorney questions the two tiers of justice after Hunter Biden avoids jail time for illegal firearm purchase. Biden pled guilty to willful failure to pay federal income tax and providing false information in purchasing a firearm. Several black public figures, including first offenders, have served time for doing what Hunter did, such as musician Lauryn Hill and actor Wesley Snipes. This raises questions about the Biden administration’s emphasis on redressing racial disparities in the criminal justice system.

Daily Wire: Bye Tech: Two-Thirds Of Americans Want To Go Back To Time Before Internet, Cell Phones, Poll Finds
A new poll found that 77% of middle-aged Americans and 63% of people aged 18 to 34 years old want to go back to simpler times before the internet and cell phones. Two-thirds of respondents said they prefer things as they used to be versus as they are now. While most are open-minded about advancing technology, more than half say they feel overwhelmed by it, with the advancement of high tech often more divisive than unifying. These sentiments are likely due to the work-from-home phenomenon and the fact that home internet and mobile phones make it difficult for employees to disconnect from work. Many Americans have become hooked on endlessly scrolling through their phones, leading some to opt out of social media.
