The Blaze: 5 SCARY stories about freedom from Glenn’s Europe vacation
Glenn Beck warns of a zero-carbon future, where cars will be eliminated and people must use electric trains to travel. He cites a new "rights of the earth charter" called the Terra Carta by King Charles as a concerning development. Additionally, he warns of "Our Common Agenda" supported by the White House, an expansion of Agenda 21 and the Great Reset that includes giving the United Nations sweeping emergency powers.
The Epoch Times: Fox News Reveals Moderators of First GOP Presidential Debate
Fox News announces that Bret Baier and Martha MacCallum will moderate the first Republican presidential primary debate of the 2024 election on August 23rd. Candidates must meet specific criteria to qualify, including having officially announced their campaign, filed with the Federal Election Commission, identified as Republican nominees, and met certain polling and fundraising requirements. The former president and believed Republican frontrunner, Donald Trump, has not yet indicated whether he plans to attend the debate.
Breitbart: Poll: Trump and Biden Tied Following Three-Point Swing in Trump's Direction
Biden and Trump are tied in a head-to-head matchup among registered voters, according to a survey by The Economist/YouGov. Trump has gained three points since May, with a single-point lead in the total number surveyed. Most Democrats said they would support Biden and most Republicans support Trump, with independents leaning more towards Trump.
The American Mind: Scammer in Chief
With alleged evidence of Joe Biden's involvement in an international fraud scheme, and his family's illegal transactions, the lack of indictment for Hunter and James Biden raises questions about the selective enforcement of the DOJ. Biden's involvement in the suspicious activities of his son's business activities highlights his guilt in at least three areas, including knowledge, endorsement, and evidence of using his position as vice president to create value for Burisma and its owner. Even if there is no evidence of receiving bribes directly, the accusations show that the President of the United States is part of a conspiracy and a criminal organization.
National Review: The Corner: Public-Sector Union Membership Down 10 Percent Since Janus
The Janus v. AFSCME Supreme Court decision allows public-sector workers to choose whether or not to pay union dues. Maxford Nelson of the Freedom Foundation found that 733,745 workers left the four largest public-sector unions since the decision, declining by 10%. Unions are still earning hundreds of millions of dollars in revenue, but they are feeling the squeeze on budgets. Unions must now persuade people to join voluntarily, rather than using special privileges to take money from paychecks without consent, and public-sector unions must engage in political speech voluntarily as protected by the First Amendment.
Washington Free Beacon: WATCH: Through the Years, Biden Tells the American Public Hunter 'Did Nothing Wrong'
Hunter Biden to plead guilty to tax crimes, ending DOJ's investigation. President Joe Biden previously maintained his son's innocence, stating "My son did nothing wrong, I did nothing wrong" during the 2019 Democratic primary debate.
Washington Free Beacon: Republican Vows Hunter Biden Plea Deal Will Have 'No Impact' on Congressional Probe
House Republican investigating the Biden family's foreign dealings claimed that Hunter Biden's plea deal with the Department of Justice will not affect their investigation. Hunter Biden pleaded guilty to a misdemeanor tax crime, but the Republicans argue that he is still getting away with corruption, influence-peddling, and possible bribery. The investigation is ongoing, and the Oversight Committee is in talks with Devon Archer, a former business associate of Hunter Biden, to conduct an interview about the family's foreign dealings.

Judge Priest presides over a town riven with class and color prejudices, while also seeking re-election. He's bound by his judicial duty to adjudicate matters in court, but also by his conscience to settle others out of court, all while being judged by everyone around him. When a young black man is falsely accused of rape and threatened with lynching, Priest takes him into protective custody and stands up to the mob. The Epoch Times: Democrat Attorneys General Respond to Target Boycott Over 'Pride Month' Items
Fifteen Democrat attorneys sent a letter to Target Corp. following the removal of “Pride Month” merchandise during boycotts, referring to it as a setback for “march for social progress”. Target shares fell amid backlash over its “pride collection”, including LGBT-themed onesies and children's books, and a “tuck friendly” swimsuit. JPMorgan Chase also downgraded the stock earlier this month and analysts forecast a decline in sales due to inflation; KeyBanc Capital Markets reduced shares to “sector weight” from “overweight” due to the resumption of student loan payments. Some conservative commentators called for a boycott after it was discovered that Target was selling the “tuck friendly” swimsuit.

Cuban figurehead president Miguel Diaz-Canel has begun a tour of Europe starting with a meeting with Pope Francis, to represent the Cuban Communist Party abroad, taking place as pressure mounts for EU leaders to shun the Communist Party due to increased violent repression against pro-democracy dissidents. Cuba's economic dependence on Europe with ties to European states being critical for the communist Castro regime, as Cuba is a top tourism destination for Europeans and Europe being a top market for Cuban exports, particularly tobacco. Diaz-Canel's whirlwind Europe tour comes following nationwide anti-communist protests, leading to repressive Castro regime agents violently assaulting civilians in public.
The Epoch Times: Biden Admin Misses Deadline to Reveal Intelligence Findings on COVID-19 Origins
The Biden administration missed the June 18 deadline to declassify and release documents related to the origins of COVID-19 as required by the COVID-19 Origin Act passed unanimously in Congress with bipartisan support. The law aims to investigate the intelligence underlying the theory that COVID-19 resulted from a laboratory leak from the Wuhan Institute of Virology, specifically whether the laboratory was conducting research on behalf of the Chinese regime’s People’s Liberation Army or experimenting with coronaviruses. Senators Josh Hawley and Mike Braun sent Biden a reminder of the deadline, urging him to comply with the law as written and provide as much transparency to the American people as possible. The Biden administration did not respond to requests for comments from NTD News.

The Epoch Times: Google Hit With Lawsuit Over Monopoly Allegations
USA Today’s publisher, Gannett, has filed a lawsuit in a New York court against Google’s parent company Alphabet for its unfair monopolistic practices in internet advertising technology. Gannett claims that Google’s controls on publishers selling their ad slots has not only damaged the company’s business, but also deprived consumers of news from a range of unbiased viewpoints. Google’s ad server, DoubleClick for Publishers, owns over 90% of the publisher-ad-server market and controls more than 60% of the ad exchange market. Since its acquisition, Gannett alleges Google has carried out a sophisticated, anticompetitive, and deceptive scheme for over a decade, resulting in Google making around $30bn in 2022 alone.
Despite the decline of around 70% in digital ad revenue since 2009, the digital advertising market is worth $200bn p.a.; as a result, newspaper employment has decreased by 50% since 2009. Gannett claims that over 20% of America’s newspapers have closed due to Google's monopolistic control over ad-serving, which places such businesses at an unfair commercial disadvantage. Meanwhile, Google contests these claims, asserting that publishers have numerous, competitive ad services available to them, including the 95% ad revenue retention mandated by their platform. The lawsuit is one of many such launched against Google in recent years, with Google steadfast in denying any breach of anti-trust laws.

The Epoch Times: School District in Utah Faces Backlash After Banning the Bible: Part I
The Bible has been removed from elementary and middle school libraries in Utah due to its "vulgarity and violence," but many are protesting the decision and calling for local obscenity laws to be enforced instead. Over 100 people held a rally at the Utah State Capitol to protest the committee's decision, with some calling for a special legislative session to amend the "sensitive material" law that led to the ban. Rally organizer Gayle Ruzicka stated that the protesters consisted of parents, religious leaders, and elected representatives, among others, and argued that removing the Bible from educational institutions risks severing the foundation of society and morality.
The Epoch Times: School District in Utah Faces Backlash After Banning the Bible: Part II
An anonymous parent in Davis County requested a review of the Bible's sexual references, resulting in its banning from elementary and middle school libraries, but allowed in high schools. The parent's request was likely a protest against a "sensitive material" bill passed in 2021. The review committee process includes at least one administrator, licensed teacher, librarian, and four random parents with students enrolled in district schools. The Book of Mormon is currently pending review for a similar request to ban it from the district.
The Federalist Papers: Satanic Temple's Evil Response to Feucht's 'Let Us Worship' Tour: 'Let Us Burn' Tour Targets State Capitols
The Satanic Temple plans to replicate Sean Feucht's "Let Us Worship" tour with their own "Let Us Burn" Capitol Tour, citing religious neutrality as the principle upheld by law. The organization has submitted a request to perform at the Indiana State Capitol in August and has launched a fundraising campaign. Sean Feucht responded on Twitter, remarking that Satan has never had creative ability and only attempts to pervert what has already been created. He questioned The Satanic Temple's motives, pointing out that their replication is not directed at contemporary Christian music or industry worship tours.

DC Comics is facing uncertainty in the box office due to "superhero fatigue" and declining revenues of their movies. While Marvel Studios dominates the highest-grossing superhero film list, Jim Lee, the new president of DC Comics, suggests that the audience for superhero movies has become polarized and splintered into different groups. DC executives James Gunn and Peter Safran were appointed co-chairs and co-CEOs of DC Studios as of October 2022 to reboot and revitalize the DC Extended Universe, with their first project "Gods and Monsters" already announced. The new DC strategy is to blur the line between good and evil and to become more nuanced in storytelling.

The American Spectator: ‘No Egg? No Sperm? No Problem,’ Promises IVG
A new process, in vitro gametogenesis (IVG), using stem cells to create babies without the need for eggs or sperm could soon be a reality. IVG could signal the end of infertility and offer alternative routes to parenthood. The prospects of the technology have led to concern that a search for the "perfect" baby, or even generation, could become a reality. However, concerns also include the viability of stem cells in relation to a baby's development and the fact that private venture capitalists are already funding IVG start-ups.

Fox News: Missing sub's rescue unlikely in frightening human drama, say experts: 'The math is not great'
The OceanGate, a submersible carrying five people to see the Titanic's wreckage, is missing at a depth of 12,500 feet. Rescuers believe it has little chance of being found. The lack of communication and time limit also make the situation seem dire. The Navy has sent help in hopes of finding the sub, but experts believe unmanned drones are the only practical method of finding the OceanGate since no manned subs capable of diving to this depth exist.
Industry insiders say the sub's lack of communication and the dwindling opportunity window make the rescue of the OceanGate for its five passengers highly unlikely. The OceanGate is far too deep for any traditional submarine to travel, so drones offer the only realistic chance to save them. It’s not clear whether these passengers are in good enough health to signal for help, and the sounds they make from inside would be hard to hear since they don’t travel straight in water. The Pentagon has confirmed assistance in search operations, stating that only air assets, including three C-130s to fly overhead, are currently being deployed.
The Epoch Times: Rescuers Race Against Time to Find the Missing Sub in the Atlantic Bound for the Titanic Site
Rescuers search for a missing submersible, the Titan, carrying five people on a mission to document the wreckage of the Titanic, which has been reported overdue. The Titan has a 96-hour oxygen supply and a remotely operated vehicle is being prepared to help with the search. While the Canadian research icebreaker Polar Prince, the U.S. Coast Guard, and other vessels and aircrafts have been deployed in search of the submersible, experts suggest that if the submersible is beyond the continental shelf, options are very limited for rescue. It is the third annual Titanic expedition by OceanGate Expeditions that aims to chronicle the deterioration of the famed shipwreck.
Flag And Cross: CBS Journalist Had Harrowing Experience Inside Missing Titanic Submersible Just Last Year
The US Navy is sending a "Flyaway Deep Ocean Salvage System" to help search for the missing submersible that went to explore the Titanic wreck, which hasn’t been heard from since Sunday. CBS journalist David Pogue had recorded complications along the 2022 voyage for a Sunday Morning episode that included a first dive being canceled due to strong winds. The final dive was successful, but communications broke down, leaving the sub lost for two-and-a-half hours. Coast Guard officials say the crew of the missing sub has about 40 hours of oxygen left.

National Review: The Corner: The Flash’s Frustrating Reminder of Human Imperfection
I liked The Flash more than my colleague Jonathan Nicastro. Although he criticized the CGI effects and the character of Barry Allen, played by Ezra Miller, I appreciated the cartoonish nature of the CGI and found Allen's talkative nature to be a realistic portrayal of an anxious and courageous young man with flaws. Nicastro's main issue was with the plot, which involves Allen travelling back in time to save his mother and ultimately learning the value of not changing the past. However, he then makes a minor manipulation to save his father, causing a new timeline. I disagree with Nicastro, as I think Allen was aware of the consequences of his actions and made a flawed compromise in order to make his story just a little less tragic without destroying the universe.
