The Epoch Times: Push to Cut Big Money Influence on Federal Elections
Reforms aimed at reducing election influence of donors with deep pockets have been recommended by a joint parliamentary committee. The reforms include spending caps, real-time disclosure rules, and a lower donation threshold. The interim report sets out 15 recommendations centered on donations and spending, trust in the electoral system, and Indigenous people’s participation in elections. Political parties are required to disclose donations annually, a rule the committee wants to change to real-time disclosure requirements. The report has been rejected by the coalition committee, which claims the reforms favored “one particular political hue”. Meanwhile, independent MP Kate Chaney urged the committee to go further by banning political donations from government contractors and expanding the lobbyist register.

The left spews half-true deceptions, or wholly false accusations to achieve their aims and ambitions. The left's pursuit of equity threatens our country's extinction. We need to hold fast to truth and push back against false narratives.

Democrats are trying to implement portions of the Green New Deal at state and local levels despite its unpopularity with Americans. The focus on alternative energy by the Spendorcrats is dangerous, and they need to concentrate on current issues affecting Americans. Lower and middle-class Americans who cannot afford proposed alternatives will be the biggest losers, and progressive policies will bankrupt the agricultural sector. These policies will also compromise national security as they funnel resources to the Chinese Communist Party. To protect our country's economic sectors, we need leaders who will stand up and disrupt the status quo.

Stacey Plaskett, a nonvoting delegate in Congress representing the US Virgin Islands, accidentally said "shot" instead of "stopped" while referring to Trump and immediately corrected herself. The incident was caught on video, and although Plaskett is a highly-educated individual, the slip was likely due to a Freudian slip. The incident has garnered attention on social media due to the nature of the slip.

NPR spotlighted a transgender man who gave birth to two daughters for Father’s Day. Kayden Coleman temporarily stopped taking hormones for top surgery and later found out he was pregnant. Coleman spoke about pushback he faced while pregnant and transgender as well as misconceptions about transgender parents. Though the concept of a "pregnant man" and "birthing person" have received backlash, Coleman argued being a trans dad provides insight into the female experience.

The "New Black Futures" room displays historical artifacts and facsimiles of albums featuring futurist themes, demonstrating that Afrofuturism's influence is not limited to a single genre but across many of Black musical production.
Foreign Policy magazine’s Summer 2023 print issue features an AI cover illustration with the on-image text reading: "The Scramble for AI." The issue is not the first time visitors to the NMAAHC will experience Afrofuturism.
