The agreement will guarantee swimmers a share of commercial revenue generated through sponsorships, licensing and broadcast rights. The model will be tiered, reflecting athletes’ performance levels. ASA president and champion swimmer, Bronte Campbell, sees this as important to retaining top swimmers in the sport who are often forced to quit in their late 20s and early 30s. "Finances play a big part in that so being able to tie the success of the sport to the swimmers sharing in that I think is really important," she said.

Indicating that AI can collect data and use deep neural networks to generate entirely new content, the research warns this means counterfeit content of voices, images and videos that appear genuine can be easily created and manipulated by malicious actors to extract money, harm brand reputation, steal Intelligence Property (IP) and shake customer confidence. The CEO of Australia's largest bank was recently impersonated as part of a deepfake scam.
