National Review: The Press Is Making a Huge Mistake
The Press Is Making a Huge Mistake
The media's push for Trump to run in 2024 is a case of "be careful what you wish for". While it may boost ratings and subscriptions, the press is tired of covering his every move and the public doesn't want another four years of it. Even the New York Times' attempts to gather original commentary on Trump fell flat, with only one columnist, Ross Douthat, having the courage to inject some humor. The hard truth is that another Trump presidency would be mind-numbingly tedious for everyone involved.

American Thinker: It’s Not Just the FBI: The IRS goes into ‘Beast Mode’
It’s Not Just the FBI: The IRS goes into ‘Beast Mode’
The FBI and other federal agencies have become a threat to the freedom of American citizens. The IRS has been accused of using intimidation tactics by showing up unannounced at the homes of citizens and using false identities to gain entry. The IRS is also hiring more agents, despite budget cuts.

Matt Taibbi, who testified before Congress on government censorship, was visited by the IRS for questioning about his taxes. The IRS left Taibbi a note instructing him to call a few days later, and when he did, he was told his tax returns had been rejected due to identity theft. The IRS never contacted Taibbi about the issue after his 2018 tax return was filed, and he provided the committee with documentation showing that it had been electronically accepted. The IRS is hiring more armed agents despite budget cuts and has been accused of using intimidation tactics, which is a threat to the freedom of American citizens.

National Review: The Strange Idea That a Cabinet Officer Should Report to the President
The Strange Idea That a Cabinet Officer Should Report to the President
Former U.S. Secretary of the Interior David L. Bernhardt recounts his experience as acting and permanent secretary under President Donald Trump, who offered him direct access to the president, bucking the trend of previous presidencies. Bernhardt emphasizes the importance of top political appointees reporting to and representing the beliefs of the elected president as the Constitution expects and elections decide. He also discusses his concerns about the noncompliance of executive-branch employees and offers suggestions for reform.

Newsbusters: Don't Say Socialism! Chris Sununu Spurs Another Touchy Reaction from Isaacson on PBS
Don't Say Socialism! Chris Sununu Spurs Another Touchy Reaction from Isaacson on PBS
Governor Chris Sununu (R-NH) appeared on Amanpour & Co. to discuss the future of the Republican Party. Walter Isaacson, the show's host, grilled Sununu on the Party's shift to the right and its embrace of "resentments." Sununu opposed Trump largely because he thinks he won’t win in 2024. Isaacson refused to acknowledge left-wing extremism and challenged conservatives more than Democrats, letting their inane statements pass as fact. Sununu didn’t take the bait, making Isaacson snappy. The interview was sponsored in part by Mutual of America retirement services.

American Thinker: A DeSantis Presidency Could Remind Us How Far Italians Have Come In America
A DeSantis Presidency Could Remind Us How Far Italians Have Come In America
The discrimination against Italian immigrants in America has a long and painful history, including illegal servitude, racial atrocities like the mass lynching of 11 Italian men in New Orleans, exclusionary immigration policies, and mistreatment during WWII. National media outlets portrayed the lynching as virtuous and Congress enacted immigration laws specifically targeting Italians. The only apology Italian Americans have ever received from the US government was the establishment of Columbus Day. An Italian American president would be a momentous historical event that could definitively end this chapter of discrimination.

Fox News: Virginia wildlife officials trespassed on man’s land, stole his trail camera, lawsuit alleges
Virginia wildlife officials trespassed on man’s land, stole his trail camera, lawsuit alleges
A Virginia homeowner is suing the state's Department of Wildlife Resources for allegedly trespassing onto his property without a warrant and stealing his trail camera. Highlander suspects that the DWR may be searching his cameras for evidence of hunting violations, as his brother was previously cited for "hunting over bait" on April 8, a day on which the camera suddenly went missing. The lawsuit challenges a nearly 100-year-old Supreme Court ruling that Fourth Amendment protections against warrantless searches and seizures do not apply to open fields, even if they are surrounded by fences or no trespassing signs, arguing that no trespassing signs should apply to government agents too.

The Epoch Times: Canadian AIIB Executive’s Resignation Reveals CCP’s Manipulation of Investment Bank, Spread of Toxic Marxist Culture
Canadian AIIB Executive’s Resignation Reveals CCP’s Manipulation of Investment Bank, Spread of Toxic Marxist Culture
The resignation of a Canadian executive of the Beijing-based Asian Infrastructure Investment Bank (AIIB) has revealed the ruling Chinese Communist Party's (CCP) infiltration into international financial organisations. Bob Pickard, who resigned on 14 June as director of global communications accused the CCP of dominating AIIB and instilling a toxic culture. Experts say the incident highlights the CCP's aim to extend its influence through infrastructure investments under its Belt and Road Initiative and raise questions on whether lending countries would also be influenced by the politicised AIIB. Canada said it would investigate the allegation and freeze ties with the AIIB.

American Thinker: Islam is not anti-Semitic, but its anti-Jewish sentiment is just as bad
Islam is not anti-Semitic, but its anti-Jewish sentiment is just as bad
Two recent graduation speeches at City University of New York and El Camino Community College were given by Muslim females who wore non-American clothing and criticized Jews for doing terrible things. While Israel supporters denounced the speeches as anti-Semitic, it is really Islam's age-old hatred of Jews on display, as evident in the Koran. Muslims are forbidden to be friends with, and are commanded to oppress and humiliate Jews for refusing to accept Muhammad as the greatest prophet. Therefore, it is inaccurate to call them anti-Semites; they are merely Muslims whose religion is a form of Jew hatred.

National Review: The U.S. Could Learn a Lot from This School in the U.K.
The U.S. Could Learn a Lot from This School in the U.K.
Michaela School in London is known for its exacting school culture and unwavering commitment to academic excellence. It practices a muscular brand of academics, character formation, and student discipline not seen in the U.S.. American school-choice movement, in particular, needs Katharine Birbalsingh or someone very like her. The rapid adoption of universal education savings accounts (ESAs) in several U.S. states has created an unprecedented opportunity for affordable private schools to sprout and take root in this country. This could jumpstart and grow effective and affordable private-school models that even the charter sector would be hard-pressed to match.

There are considerable hurdles to building networks of modest-cost private schools in the U.S., not the least of which is real estate. There may be a role for education philanthropists to assist, particularly those who’ve grown disenchanted with their inability to drive lasting change in the public sector. Universal ESAs are truly something different under the sun. If they are to be more than an immune response to discontent with traditional public schools, or a boutique option for the most engaged and well-off families, strong institutional alternatives to the public system are needed. That means well-run and effective schools that appeal to parents.

How Could Mauricio Pochettino Use Romelu Lukaku In New Chelsea Team?
