Fox News: Boston mayor responds after lawmakers try to slash police budget, veteran services
Boston mayor responds after lawmakers try to slash police budget, veteran services
Boston Mayor Michelle Wu rejected a proposal by the city council to cut both the funding to the Boston police department and veteran services, which was included in the city's $4.2bn operating budget. Despite a veto from Mayor Wu, the budget will be sent back to the council where it will need two-thirds of members to override her. Wu's veto was criticised by the Better Budget Alliance, which advocates for participatory budgeting, but it was praised by the head of the city’s largest police union.

Fox News: Top Pence staffer condemns Trump's last-minute pardons for 'cocaine traffickers,' family members
Top Pence staffer condemns Trump's last-minute pardons for 'cocaine traffickers,' family members
Former VP Mike Pence's Chief of Staff, Marc Short, condemned former President Donald Trump's pardons given in the final hours of his administration. During an appearance on Fox News, Short narrated that Trump granted pardons to cocaine traffickers, family members, and people guilty of violent crimes. Short urged for a conversation on the power of the pardon and called Trump's pardon record "indefensible."

Former President Donald Trump issued 73 pardons and 70 sentence commutations on his final day of office, January 20, 2021. Pardon recipients included former White House adviser Steve Bannon, former Detroit Mayor Kwame Kilpatrick, and rappers Lil Wayne and Kodak Black. Marc Short, former chief of staff to VP Mike Pence, criticized Trump's final pardons for including family members, "cocaine traffickers" and violent criminals. Pence defended Trump's right to have his day in court on NBC's "Meet the Press" but avoided questioning on Trump's conviction allegations.

DAVID MARCUS: Corrupt news media can’t save Biden from Ukrainian
bribery scandal
Major network news spent 291 minutes on Trump and not a single second on the Biden corruption saga. However, the story is too big and too fleshed out to go away and Republicans now have the power to run investigations and compel cooperation, uncovering a treasure trove of nefarious actions. The Biden bribery scandal involving payments to nine members of Biden's family and a direct bribery scheme alleged by an FBI informant is not going away and the truth will out.

Red State: Maine Lobstermen Get a Big Win Over Biden; Admin's Hypocrisy Faces Big Questions and Investigation
Maine Lobstermen Get a Big Win Over Biden; Admin's Hypocrisy Faces Big Questions and Investigation
Maine lobstermen sued the Biden administration's National Marine Fisheries Service (NMFS) over a new rule that limits their operations and sets technical standards on the amount of lobster trap rope in the water. The rule was put in place to protect the North Atlantic right whale, but lobstermen argue that it threatens to put family-owned lobster fisheries out of business. The U.S. Court of Appeals for the District of Columbia Circuit ruled in favor of the lobstermen, stating that the NMFS's legal reasoning was "egregiously wrong." Despite efforts by the lobstermen to mitigate the impact of their fishing on whales, they continue to face challenges from the Biden administration.

There are concerns that the Biden administration's offshore wind development may be more of a threat to the North Atlantic right whale than Maine lobstermen. Along the New Jersey coastline, there have been at least 39 whales stranded since December near an area where energy developers have been conducting offshore wind surveys. Rep. Chris Smith (R-NJ) has called for an investigation into the impact and viability of proposed wind farms. The Government Accountability Office has opened an investigation into the impacts of offshore wind development amid calls for a moratorium after the whale deaths. Biden's aggressive climate agenda to expand offshore wind industry opportunities may contradict his promise to protect the livelihood and safety of the fishing community.

Daily Wire: 2024 Candidates Weigh In On Whether They Would Pardon Trump
2024 Candidates Weigh In On Whether They Would Pardon Trump
2024 presidential contenders have been asked about their stance on pardoning former President Trump, who has pleaded not guilty to 37 charges, including espionage act violations. Florida Governor Ron DeSantis plans to be “aggressive” with pardons, while former Vice President Mike Pence thinks the question is “premature.” Other candidates, including Sen. Tim Scott and former New Jersey Governor Chris Christie, are hesitant to make a decision without a fair trial. Meanwhile, former Arkansas Governor Asa Hutchinson rejects discussing pardons as a part of a campaign and former UN Ambassador Nikki Haley is inclined to be in favor of a pardon but sees it as premature. On the Democratic Party side, the campaign for Robert Kennedy Jr. gave no comment on the Republican candidate's initiatives.

Fox News: Westchester County DA closes multiyear-long Trump golf course criminal investigation
Westchester County DA closes multiyear-long Trump golf course criminal investigation
The Westchester County District Attorney announced the closure of a multiyear-long investigation into the Trump Organization's valuations of a golf club in New York, with no charges being filed against former President Donald Trump or his company. The investigation sought to uncover whether misleading valuations were provided to shrink the tax bill on his Trump National Golf Club in Briarcliff Manor. Trump posted on Truth Social, questioning when he will get his reputation back and asking when other "fake" cases against him will be dropped.

Trump is currently the front-runner in the 2024 Republican presidential primary, ahead of Florida Gov. Ron DeSantis. Just days earlier, he pleaded not guilty to 37 federal charges stemming from Special Counsel Jack Smith’s investigation into his alleged improper retention of classified records at Mar-a-Lago, including willful retention of national defense information, conspiracy to obstruct justice, and false statements. He also previously pleaded not guilty to state charges in New York in relation to an investigation of alleged falsified business records related to hush-money payments made during the 2016 campaign.

Teen Girl Injured by Trans Athlete Blasts Biden, KJP and 'That Whole Administration' with Brutal Allegation
A North Carolina teenager injured during a high school volleyball match by a boy playing on a girls' team candidly criticized White House press secretary Karine Jean-Pierre's "trans kids" spin attempt. The teenager called it "very hypocritical" for the Biden administration to twist the truth about boys and men competing against girls and women. While Jean-Pierre bobbed and weaved, the teenager made it clear that men and women are different. The Biden administration is miles out of the mainstream of American thought that it can't be honest about where it's going with transgender issues.

Daily Wire: Asa Hutchinson Says GOP Should ‘Back Off’ Claim That DOJ Has Been Weaponized Against Trump
Asa Hutchinson Says GOP Should ‘Back Off’ Claim That DOJ Has Been Weaponized Against Trump
Asa Hutchinson, GOP candidate, calls for an end to allegations of the DOJ being weaponized against former President Donald Trump. Trump’s promise to appoint a special prosecutor to investigate the Biden family was the real “weaponization” of the DOJ. Hutchinson urges Trump to drop out of the race and for the Republican party to return to the “rule of law.”

Republicans have accused the DOJ of being weaponized against them, with House Republicans creating a subcommittee to investigate “disparate treatment” from the DOJ. Hutchinson argues that Trump should put the “office of presidency and our country” above himself and calls for a return to being the party of the rule of law. Trump is leading the Republican field of candidates in multiple polls.

Leftist Media Claims Trump Stuck Miami Supporters with the Bill, Here's What Really Happened
Former President Trump allegedly promised to buy lunch for supporters at a Cuban restaurant in Miami but did not pay the bill, according to a Vanity Fair report. However, Newsweek found no evidence to support the claim, and a Miami New Times report simply stated that Trump left the restaurant within ten minutes and no food was ordered. Social media users criticized Trump for being fraudulent and for making fake claims. Business Insider later revealed that Trump's representative said that he offered to buy food, but the supporters did not place any orders when they followed him outside.

'Begin to Heal': Manitoba Community Prays for Loved Ones Who Died in Bus Crash
Residents of Dauphin, Man., sought solace at church services Sunday as they mourned 15 community members who died in a bus crash. Prayers were offered for those who died, their families, and emergency workers. Churchgoers lit candles and sang hymns; the Ukrainian church was among many places of worship in Dauphin that were set to address the tragedy.

RCMP continued to investigate Thursday’s fiery crash between a transport truck and a minibus that was carrying seniors from the Dauphin area to a casino near Carberry, Man., some 190 kilometres away. Mounties have said the truck was travelling east on the Trans−Canada Highway when the southbound minibus crossed at an intersection. As of Friday, investigators had not yet spoken with the driver of the bus, who remained in hospital along with the nine other survivors. Shared Health said in a statement Sunday that their conditions remained the same.

Soros-Funded ACLU Ripped for ‘Evil’ Tweet Sympathizing with Killer, Rapist: ‘This Tweet Cannot Be Real’
Transgender surgery was denied to a convicted rapist and murderer, causing "enormous suffering," according to the ACLU. Duane Owen was executed in Florida after spending 30 years on death row for the brutal killings of a mother of two and a 14-year-old girl. The ACLU's tweets caused outrage for not mentioning Owen's crimes, which Twitter's Community Notes feature added, including details of faked schizophrenia and a sexual sadism diagnosis. The ACLU's support for transgender rights for child rapists and murderers was condemned by liberals and conservatives alike, with some calling for an end to the death penalty.

Stellantis No Longer Stocking Gasoline Models With Dealers in 14 States
Carmaker Stellantis has stopped stocking gasoline Jeep Wrangler models in many states following strict emission standards passed in those regions. The company is no longer allocating gasoline-only Wranglers to dealerships in the 14 states that follow emission guidelines set by the California Air Resources Board (CARB). Stellantis must meet emission standards with just the vehicles sold in the 14 CARB states, unlike the five automakers who are part of the 2020 agreement with CARB.
