Emails from Hunter Biden's laptop show that Vadym Pozharskyi, a Burisma Holdings executive, informed Hunter that he was opening a Maltese bank account for him in 2016. This occurred as part of an alleged pay-for-play scheme between Mykola Zlochevsky, Burisma Holdings, and the Bidens. Pozharskyi was an associate of Zlochevsky, who allegedly paid Hunter and Joe Biden each $5 million in exchange for political influence. The FBI informant document indicates that Zlochevsky allegedly kept 17 audio recordings of his conversations with them as an "insurance policy". The emails suggest that Burisma tried to move money to the Bidens through a Maltese bank account set up by Pozharskyi for Hunter Biden.

The Sunday Times reported that two women had made formal complaints to Parliament’s Independent Complaints and Grievance Scheme (ICGS) about Warburton’s behaviour and a third woman had also made allegations about his conduct.

Two people are dead and three more were injured in a shooting at a campground outside a music festival venue in George, Washington. The shooter continued to shoot randomly into the crowd and was eventually taken into custody. Reports of an active shooter were received at approximately 8:25 p.m. and the festival's second day was canceled in light of the tragic event.

An 18-year-old American citizen from Texas named Jose Rodolfo Najera Olvera has gone missing while visiting relatives in the Mexican state of Tamaulipas, which has become one of the most violent states due to cartel fighting. Olvera was traveling to a rural community with a friend when he disappeared. The Tamaulipas Attorney General’s Office is now investigating the case, however, there have been no updates on his whereabouts amid the ongoing cartel violence in the area.

Backpacker: This College Lets Students Get Credit for Hiking the Appalachian Trail
Emory and Henry College in Virginia offers credit to students who hike the Appalachian Trail. The Semester-A-Trail program allows 10 select sophomores through seniors to either hike the southernmost 470 miles of the trail or complete a full thru-hike. Students take 12 to 15 credit hours while on the trail and receive courses on writing, backpacking, and justice. Tuition covers backpacking equipment, first-aid and skills training, and on-trail support. Applications close on August 1.
