PJ Media: POLL: Almost Everyone Wants to Live in Florida — or Someplace Like It
POLL: Almost Everyone Wants to Live in Florida — or Someplace Like It
Net migration to Florida is up; the combined policies of Governor Ron DeSantis are far more popular than the media or Democrats want us to know. Almost two-thirds of Americans surveyed in a Harvard CAPS/Harris poll want to live in a state where legislation cuts taxes, encourages public charter schools, bans gender transition surgery for kids under 18, and restricts most abortions after six weeks. However, 66% don't want to live in a state like New York or California, where taxes increase, illegal immigration is encouraged, minors can have gender surgery without parents' permission, guns have more restrictions, and felons can vote. The GOP could win by embracing the cultural issues Americans care about ( ).

A majority of respondents, 57%, also believe that Trump will be acquitted on the charges. Additionally, the poll asked voters about President Joe Biden and Hillary Clinton's handling of classified documents. 80% of Democrats support the Justice Department's appointment of a special counsel to investigate President Joe Biden's mishandling of classified documents.

The Federalist Papers: Obama Pitches New Plan to 'Digital Fingerprint' Americans on the Internet
Obama Pitches New Plan to 'Digital Fingerprint' Americans on the Internet
Former president Barack Obama proposed the use of "digital fingerprints" to combat misinformation during a recent interview with former senior adviser David Axelrod. The idea, according to Obama, involves using technology to develop watermarks or digital fingerprints that can discern between what is true and what is not true. The irony of Obama's proposal, however, is that the "truth" he seeks to protect is often contingent upon the relative needs of the progressive agenda, making it a moving target.

Department of Defense Signs Deal to Boost Cobalt Supply Chains
The US Department of Defense has signed a $15m funding agreement with Jervois Mining USA to explore the expansion of cobalt extraction in Idaho and assess the feasibility of a domestic cobalt refinery. The project is part of the country’s strategy to decrease reliance on foreign sources of strategic and critical minerals. Cobalt is currently considered the highest material supply chain risk in EV production due to its scarcity and expense. The global market size of cobalt is expected to reach more than $19.4bn by 2030, and the Biden administration sees widespread EV adoption as a cornerstone of its net-zero strategy.

The Epoch Times: TV Series Review: ‘Ridley’: A Detective Who Can Sing
TV Series Review: ‘Ridley’: A Detective Who Can Sing
Detective Alex Ridley, a jazz-loving former detective-inspector haunted by the murder of his wife and daughter, returns as a consultant to help solve new cases and face old unfinished ones in the eight-episode police procedural drama "Ridley." Each episode ends with Ridley crooning British singer-songwriter Richard Hawley's tunes at his jazz club, but the singing detective still has the blues. Ridley's pain and anger are viscerally portrayed by Adrian Dunbar, who also owns his singing voice. The quality of the constituent mysteries varies, but Dunbar's performance as the lead character is highly compelling, making "Ridley" a recommended watch for fans of British TV detectives and "crime jazz" ambiance.

US Open in LA Turns Into a Quiet Major With Limited Crowds and Tough Walk
The U.S. Open golf championship at the Los Angeles Country Club was always going to have its share of issues, given the club's exclusivity and the consequent limitation of the number of tickets issued. Defending champion Matt Fitzpatrick noted the issue immediately following his hole-in-one, declaring it disappointing that the noise level wasn't higher, though he put it down to less interest in the tournament than he had expected. The USGA decided to keep attendance down to ensure the quality of the course remained high, with only 22,000 tickets being issued, the majority of them to corporate guests and club members.

Texas Power Grid Warning: Demand Will Rise Considerably Amid Soaring Temperatures
ERCOT, Texas' power grid operator, issued a weather watch due to anticipated high electrical demand as dangerous heat hits the state this weekend. The National Weather Service of Houston/Galveston warned of temperatures over 100 degrees, and the Houston Health Department advised citizens to stay hydrated and plan outdoor work for early morning or evening. Texas has faced power supply issues, with winter storm Uri leaving over 4.5 million residents without power in 2021 and wind turbines producing less than 10% of their capacity during a predicted reserve capacity shortage in 2022. The state is largely powered by natural gas, with GOP Senators unveiling bills to limit renewable energy projects.
