American Thinker: Washington Post helps those who are intimidating lawyers into not working for Trump
A group called The 65 Project is intimidating lawyers who might represent Donald Trump in his criminal case, threatening to file bar charges against them. Some top Florida lawyers have declined to represent him, lest they face career reprisals. Alan Dershowitz, a liberal, has offered to defend pro bono any lawyers targeted by the group. The Washington Post is aiding efforts denying Trump counsel, as it reports he is seeking another lawyer after several high-profile resignations from his defense. The newspaper has listed many of the attorneys who've represented Trump in some of his biggest court fights in recent years, a move Ed Lasky deems as maliciously targeting lawyers.

American Thinker: There are more important things than LGBTQ stuff that deserve pride
The author questions the emphasis on Pride in modern society and wonders if focusing on sexuality, race, and ethnicity detracts from our best qualities as humans. She believes society is destabilized by pretending to be something we're not and doing away with consequences for crime. Recent violent attacks in Oakland, CA prove this point. The author advocates for rebuilding a good society to celebrate rather than focusing on divisive issues.
The author argues that common sense, self-control, and respect for inherent qualities as men and women are necessary for society to survive. She believes society encourages violent behavior and that consequences for crime have been eliminated. She mentions the collapse of decorum and propriety in modern society, and the danger of pretending to be someone we're not. The author cites the Soros-backed DA and recent robberies in Oakland to support her claim. She suggests that a focus on creating a good society would be a better way to celebrate than emphasizing divisive issues.
The Epoch Times: Japan Raises Age of Consent to 16 in Overhaul of Century-Old Sex Crime Laws
Japan's parliament passed new sex crime laws that redefines nonconsensual sex as rape and raises the age of sexual consent from 13 to 16, outlines eight acts that constitute a victim's lack of sexual consent, makes filming and distributing exploitative images without consent illegal, and increases the statute of limitations for rape reporting from 10 to 15 years. Japan first amended its penal code in 2017 to include harsher penalties for sex crimes, but the laws narrowly define rape as "forcible sexual intercourse." Human Rights Watch cited a 2021 government survey that revealed only six percent of men and women had reported an assault to the police due to humiliation and intimidation.
Japan passed a new law to promote understanding of LGBTQ communities in the country and to protect against discrimination. However, critics argue that the wording doesn't provide any human rights guarantees and may tacitly encourage some forms of discrimination. Despite approval, Fumio Kishida's party still faced boycotts and walkouts from members. Japan is the only G7 nation that doesn't have legal protection for same-sex unions. Approximately 70% of the nation allows same-sex partnerships and—according to opinion polls—more than 70% of people are in favor of same-sex marriage, putting Japan under pressure from other G7 nations to allow same-sex marriage.

American Thinker: California high speed rail is a slow motion fail
High speed rail in California's Central Valley, which is already over budget and behind schedule, will cost $22.8 billion and has yet to break even. Even under the most generous business conditions, California High Speed Rail (CHSR) will need 23 years to break even on the predicted costs for one route, assuming four always-full trains operating 24/7 every 15 minutes with no operating costs. CHSR will also have significant operating costs, and high speed rolling stock has a 10-year service life. The demand for fentanyl addicts to travel between empty west coast downtowns at high speed is unlikely to be enough to sustain the project.
