The IRS seized dozens of boxes of ATF form 4473s, which contain information on gun purchasers, from Great Falls' Highwood Creek Outfitters, potentially exceeding the scope of the search warrant that was only meant for financial records. Store owner Tom Van Hoose believes his store is targeted because he sells guns the White House opposes. Montana Attorney General Austin Knudsen sees a pattern of harassment against American gun owners, shops, and manufacturers by the Biden administration and warns of a registry or registry database of gun purchaser information.

Meta plans to lower the minimum age for its Meta Quest headset to 10 years old, despite recent warnings from US Surgeon General Vivek Murthy about the potential mental and emotional effects of social media on children. Meta's parent-managed accounts for preteens are controlled by parents, who will be able to approve apps that their children can download. The new policy comes as concerns rise over the health of children exposed to social media and radiation from wireless devices. The company is working with developers to provide age-appropriate experiences and games for the platform for children aged 10-12.

The Epoch Times: Study Reveals 23 Percent Lower COVID Risk in Those 'Not Up-to-Date' With Vaccinations
A recent Cleveland Clinic Health System study shows that individuals who are not "up-to-date" on their COVID-19 vaccinations may have a lower risk of contracting the virus compared to those who are, due to low efficacy of bivalent vaccines against the XBB lineages of the virus. The CDC's definition of vaccine adequacy may also not fully account for the immunity gained from previous COVID-19 infections.
The study included 48,344 participants, and over the study period, 1,475 employees tested positive for SARS-CoV-2. The study concluded that the risk of contracting COVID-19 was 23 percent lower in the "not up-to-date" group as compared to their "up-to-date" counterparts. The FDA has since recommended that COVID manufacturers make a single-strain vaccine for the upcoming fall that targets the XBB.1.5 omicron subvariant.

The Federalist Papers: Federal Judge Blocks Indiana Law Protecting Children from Transgender Procedures
A court in Indiana has partially blocked a law prohibiting puberty blockers and cross-sex hormones being given to minors who identify as transgender. The decision followed a lawsuit filed by the American Civil Liberties Union (ACLU) on behalf of parents who argued that the law was unconstitutional. The injunction doesn't affect the law’s ban on surgeries such as double mastectomies for girls identifying as boys or genital surgeries. Republican Governor Eric Holcomb signed the law earlier this year. Indiana has joined 20 other states that have passed similar laws in recent years .
