The American Spectator: Free and Fair Elections: The Foundation of Democracy
The Constitution aimed to create effective government while preserving the people's liberty. Antifederalists argued that a strong central government would lead to a governing class with different interests and urged for power to be diffused. The Bill of Rights was added to limit national government power. During World War II, democracies curtailed individual freedoms, but held fair and free elections to preserve democracy. Today, politicians and media promise to control outcomes, but we must remember to vote from our soul and uphold the Constitution.

The Epoch Times: Unique Kelp Puts Tasmania's King Island on World Map
Kelp harvesting on King Island is a unique industry that contributes to Australia's economy. Alginates extracted from the kelp are used in pet food, drinks, sauces, and paper coating. Five percent of the world's production of alginates comes from bull kelp found on King Island, with the industry contributing about $2.5 million annually to the island's economy. Despite worker shortages, business is booming, and orders are 12 months in advance. Seaweed aquaculture is seen as an emerging industry in Tasmania, and in May, a scientific permit was issued to investigate the viability of commercial-scale offshore kelp production.

The American Spectator: Remembering Glenda Jackson — and Margaret Thatcher
Glenda Jackson, British Labour Party politician and actress, died at 87. Identified as a socialist, feminist, and non-monarchist, she served as an MP from 1992 to 2015, with some ministerial experience, often criticizing Tony Blair from the left. On Thatcher’s funeral day, she delivered a speech accusing the Iron Lady of responsibility for social disasters, tuning in boos from the Commons. As an actress, Jackson was a Shakespearean player and starred in many notable films, including winners of the Best Actress Oscar. But her portrayal of Elizabeth I in the 1971 BBC series Elizabeth R is one of the richest characters in any English-language drama of the last half-century.

The Quebec and Canadian governments have committed over $100m to keep the race in Montreal through 2031. Despite the significant cost to taxpayers, organisers and business owners said it identifies the city on an international stage, recognising its touristic attraction and place on the map.
