This move is expected to benefit UK businesses by reducing tariffs and trade barriers, with significant gains projected for various regions.
In discussions between Canadian Prime Minister Mark Carney and UK leader Sir Keir Starmer, they also addressed global tensions, particularly in the Middle East and Ukraine, and agreed to establish a joint taskforce to enhance cooperation in technology and trade. The UK's formal accession to the CPTPP is set for December 15, 2024.
