The American Spectator: The Reparations Success Story That Isn’t
The City of Evanston in Illinois has introduced a reparations program to pay out $25,000 grants to black people who can confirm both their residential history and their blackness and have allegedly suffered housing discrimination, or whose family members lived in Evanston during the years when "redlining" was still in place. The program may not be making sufficient effort to ensure that recipients use the grant money for home repairs, down payments, or mortgage payments, according to one panelist to whom the point was made during an American Public Square discussion. Critics argue the decline in the urban black community is due to institutional white guilt rather than institutional white racism.

The American Spectator: Honduras Heralds Growth of Chinese Influence in the Western Hemisphere
Honduras has opened a new embassy in China in response to the opening of a Chinese embassy in Tegucigalpa, and this new embassy is one of the many ways that China has been extending its soft power into Latin America. After Honduras switched recognition from Taipei to Beijing back in March, the number of nations that recognize Taiwanese sovereignty fell to 13. Latin American nations's support for Taiwan is decreasing, and many of these nations view Chinese institutes such as Confucius Institutes as a valuable bridge to future opportunities.

Red State: WATCH: Empty Stadium as LA Dodgers Honor Anti-Catholic Group 'Sisters of Perpetual Indulgence' Amid Protests
Opposition to the Los Angeles Dodgers' on-field ceremony honoring the Sisters of Perpetual Indulgence, an organization of "drag nuns" that the Catholic League calls an anti-Catholic hate group. Thousands of Catholics and other Christians gathered at Dodger Stadium to pray ahead of the game. Despite weeks of opposition, the drag nuns were announced on-field to a mostly empty stadium, while receiving some boos from baseball fans in attendance.
CatholicVote, an organization that launched a million-dollar campaign calling to boycott the bigoted Dodgers' event, launched billboard trucks in the area near the stadium. Catholic organizers shared they wanted to make a stand for Christ where everyone could see them, so the group began marching toward the Stadium, shutting down one entryway. A music video was dropped on Friday, featuring Gospel singer Jimmy Levy and conservative Christian hip-hop artist Bryson Gray. The song titled, Reclaim the Rainbow is steadily climbing the iTunes charts.

The American Spectator: Glossary of the Perfect Wokeist
A satirical list of 37 terms commonly used in progressive and woke discourse, from "alienation" to "zero waste." The entries poke fun at the language and ideas associated with contemporary social and political movements, suggesting that they are often opaque, imprecise, or hypocritical. The tone is sarcastic and critical, suggesting that many concepts such as "cultural appropriation" and "social justice" are used more for rhetorical purposes than to promote meaningful change or engagement with real problems in society.
