Los Angeles City Council pushes for probe into Texas bussing of migrants to city
LA City Council members call for an investigation into the transport of migrants from Texas to California and accuse Texas Governor Greg Abbott of human trafficking and kidnapping. This comes after Texas has bused thousands of migrants to "sanctuary" jurisdictions to bring attention to the southern border. The LA City Council recently passed a motion to draft a "sanctuary city" ordinance and has called on state and federal officials to investigate possible crimes committed during the transportation of migrants.

The Federalist Papers: Clinton Asked Point Blank About Her Classified Docs Scandal, Gives Blood-Boiling Answer
Clinton Asked Point Blank About Her Classified Docs Scandal, Gives Blood-Boiling Answer
Hillary Clinton deflects accusations of her own legal troubles while commenting on President Trump's indictment. She criticizes Republicans for focusing on extraneous issues and refusing to engage with the facts of the indictment. Clinton also derides loyal Republicans, comparing them to a cult. She avoids answering questions about her own server scandal and the FBI's treatment of her.

The Epoch Times: DOJ Seeks to Muzzle Trump In Classified Documents Case
DOJ Seeks to Muzzle Trump In Classified Documents Case
Former President Trump's legal team has been granted access to evidence in the federal classified documents case against him, but the Department of Justice (DOJ) has filed a motion to prevent him from publicly disclosing any of it. Special counsel Jack Smith has requested a protective order, stating that the materials contain "sensitive and confidential information," and that the disclosure of certain information could compromise ongoing investigations. The goal is to ensure that neither Trump nor his co-defendant release any sensitive material, and Trump has derided the indictment as a political attack meant to thwart his bid for the White House in 2024.

Smith charged Trump with 37 counts of charges related to his alleged mishandling of classified documents, which Trump entered a not-guilty plea for in June. Trump has returned attacks on the Justice Department, calling the case an unwarranted persecution and stating that he will appoint a real special prosecutor to go after the most corrupt president in the history of America, Joe Biden, and the Biden crime family. Despite federal charges across multiple cases and investigations, Trump remains a leading candidate for the GOP in the 2024 election.

The Epoch Times: Former National Security Officials Urge Congress to Investigate FBI's Security Clearances After Durham Report Findings
Former National Security Officials Urge Congress to Investigate FBI's Security Clearances After Durham Report Findings
Former national security officials are urging Congress to investigate the FBI's handling of security clearances, citing a report by special counsel John Durham that said the bureau behaved recklessly in its investigation of then-presidential candidate Donald Trump's campaign in 2016, according to a letter from former officials published Thursday. The letter, organized by the America First Policy Institute, calls on Republicans in the House Judiciary and Oversight committees to initiate oversight hearings and investigate the FBI's policies and criteria for issuing, assessing, and revoking security clearances. Former national security adviser Lt. Gen. Keith Kellogg, former National Security Council Chief of Staff Fred Fleitz, former Secretary of Veteran Affairs Robert Wilkie, former Acting U.S. Attorney General Matthew Whitaker, and former deputy national security adviser Steve Yates signed the letter.

The letter calls for hearings that are "necessary to ensure transparency, accountability, and public trust in our law enforcement agencies" and urges Jordan and Comer, specifically, to focus on the FBI's procedures for granting and revoking security clearances and how the bureau now mitigates political influences on its work. It also calls for an investigation into how frequently members of the FBI face disciplinary actions for improper access of Foreign Intelligence Surveillance Act databases. The Foreign Intelligence Surveillance Court issued an opinion last month finding that the FBI improperly accessed the FISA database more than 278,000 times between 2020 and early 2021.

The Epoch Times: Push to Stop 'Arms Race' in Australian Federal Election Spending
Push to Stop 'Arms Race' in Australian Federal Election Spending
Australian politics is being influenced by big spenders, with election spending increasing by almost 85% in the past 20 years and reaching a record high of almost $440m in 2022, according to analysis by the Centre for Public Integrity. The top five individual donors supplied 70% of all donations, an issue leading the think tank to call for donation and spending caps to limit political influence. The commonwealth lacks caps on political donations; the Centre said the interim report of a parliamentary committee investigating election funding and donations represented an opportunity to address such problems.

Red State: Southern Baptist Convention Made the Right and Courageous Decision to Boot Rick Warren's Saddleback Church
Southern Baptist Convention Made the Right and Courageous Decision to Boot Rick Warren's Saddleback Church
The Southern Baptist Convention voted to defenestrate Rick Warren's Saddleback megachurch for violating the Baptist Faith & Message by ordaining three women pastors. The SBC held strong against modernity and stopped a long march through their church.

The SBC is right in principle to disfellowship Saddleback Church for ordaining women pastors. The Baptist Faith & Message limits pastors to men, according to Scripture, and once this marker is laid down it cannot be ignored. The ordination of women is a leading indicator of how soon a denomination will ordain practicing homosexuals as clergy and recognize homosexual unions.

More than a thousand people reportedly parked in front of the Dodgers stadium to pray and demonstrate in unity for their "love of Christ."

Forbes: What Does CVS Stand For? Here’s What A TikToker Called The Company
What Does CVS Stand For? Here’s What A TikToker Called The Company
The origin of the CVS in CVS Pharmacy stands for Consumer Value Stores. Many people were surprised to learn this from a recent TikTok video. By 1988, CVS had expanded to 750 stores with total sales of nearly $1.6 billion and has since acquired many other healthcare-related businesses. The letters CVS were never an official spelling out of Convenience, Value, and Service, but the acronym has become embedded into the American lexicon as have other company acronyms like 3M, A&W, BMW, and REI.

West Coast, Messed Coast™ — You Must Worship Our Gods Edition
The Los Angeles Dodgers kick off a three-game homestand against the San Francisco Giants with a “pride celebration” that honors men who dress as demon nuns and do pole dances on crosses bearing a “hunky Jesus” at Easter. The Catholic Church expressed anger at the Dodgers disrespecting their religion, but the team defended the men’s good works of providing meals to people with HIV and AIDS. The Bishops asked all Catholics to pray the Litany of the Sacred Heart on the Solemnity of the Most Sacred Heart of Jesus, as an Act of Reparation for the blasphemies against their Lord in their culture today. The Padres took out an ad to remind the Dodgers of their true identity.

Good Morning America reported the high vacancy rate in San Francisco due to runaway crime, hot-and-cold-running fentanyl zombies, street crime, and tent-dwelling drug addicts; however, its reporter had to avoid filming at the Westfield Mall or Union Station because it's too dangerous. Meanwhile, Gavin Newsom’s in-laws still like freedom and gave $288,000 to Florida Governor Ron DeSantis, and when Newsom criticized DeSantis, the Florida governor responded by calling Newsom a coward for “sitting on the sidelines and chirping.” In related news, the DMV in Oregon still doesn't have reliable computer systems and there was recently a hack of 90% of Oregonians. Republican capitulation was considered a big victory in Oregon, as the state's Senate Republicans ended their six-week walkout to pass House Bill 2002, which approves parental notification for gender-affirming care for minors under age 15, with an exception for medical providers to opt out due to concerns of physical or emotional abuse to a minor.
