Fox News: Adam Schiff not out of the woodshed yet: GOP will move again to condemn his ‘false accusations’
Adam Schiff not out of the woodshed yet: GOP will move again to condemn his ‘false accusations’
Republicans plan to try again to censure Rep. Adam Schiff, after the House voted down a censure resolution against the Democrat alleging he made "false accusations" about former President Trump and Russia. Rep. Anna Paulina Luna, who proposed the resolution, said she has agreed on new language with a group of Republicans and the new censure is expected to be voted on soon. It's believed the adjusted language calls for Schiff to be censured and referred to an ethics investigation after the Californian's "false statements" and allegations about Trump and Russia.

Oregon Republicans End Six-Week Walkout After Reaching Deal on Abortion, Gender-Transition Care
Oregon's Republican lawmakers returned to the Senate after a six-week walkout over a series of Democrat-proposed bills they called too extreme. The new language of the measures concerns gun rights, abortion and gender-transition treatment. One compromise would allow for notifying parents of patients under the age of 15 only if the person providing the abortion believes it would be in the patient’s best interest and another medical provider agrees, and would allow abortionists to forgo notifying parents in cases where telling a parent could lead to a patient’s abuse or neglect. The revised bills will head back to the House before being sent to governor Tina Kotek's desk.

The Federalist Papers: RFK Jr. Looks Likely to Win First 2 Dem Primary Season Contests as States Prepare to Defy Biden
RFK Jr. Looks Likely to Win First 2 Dem Primary Season Contests as States Prepare to Defy Biden
President Joe Biden's campaign could be giving away two early contests for the Democratic nomination to Robert F. Kennedy Jr., as he gains higher approval ratings than other names in the presidential field. The problem for the president is that South Carolina is the first state on the Democratic primary calendar, stripping New Hampshire and Iowa of their historic positions as the first primary and caucus states. Biden could be defeated in 2024 due to his captivity to Democratic racial politics.

Dr. Cornel West says he 'hates' Biden's hypocrisy, neoliberalism and vows to take campaign to pro-Trump areas
Dr. Cornel West announced his presidential bid under the Green Party banner, claiming that both parties are too tied to corporate America to represent minority and working-class Americans. West criticized the Democratic Party for its long history of being committed to war and stated that NATO has broken its promise not to move one inch towards Russian territory. He also spoke out against the increasing wealth inequality and criticized former President Trump's "lies and gangster activity" while crediting him with maintaining low unemployment rates. West's campaign aims to unite workers of all colors against bosses, and he supports various strikes to ensure working people gain concessions.

Rep. James Comer highlighted an FBI document alleging that President Joe Biden was involved in a bribery scheme and went by the nickname “the big guy” years before it surfaced in the media. The Epoch Times: DeSantis Says Trump’s 'Going Soft' on Abortion After 'Harsh' Comments on Heartbeat Bill
DeSantis Says Trump’s 'Going Soft' on Abortion After 'Harsh' Comments on Heartbeat Bill
Florida Governor Ron DeSantis has accused Donald Trump of going "soft" on the issue of abortion after the former president said some believed the six-week ban on abortion in Florida was "too harsh." DeSantis signed this bill, also known as the Heartbeat Protection Act, into law in April after it was approved by lawmakers. Trump stated in a May interview that he believed many pro-life activists found the six-week ban on abortion "too harsh"; however, he did not state whether he believed it himself. Trump remains the leading Republican candidate in 2023 polls, with a 53.4 percent approval rating, while DeSantis is at 21.4 percent.

The Heartbeat Protection Act signed by Governor Ron DeSantis bans abortion after six weeks, unless it is "necessary to save the pregnant woman’s life or avert a serious risk of substantial physical impairment." The bill also includes exemptions for cases of fatal foetal abnormalities, pregnancies caused by rape and incest, or human trafficking so long as the women are less than 15 weeks into their pregnancy. Furthermore, the act requires proof, such as a restraining order, police report, or medical record, that she is obtaining the termination of pregnancy because she's a victim of rape, incest, or human trafficking. A written determination must be made by two physicians in cases where it is deemed necessary to terminate the pregnancy. The bill prohibits state funds from helping women get abortions in other states and makes it a third-degree felony for those who "willfully perform" abortions in violation of the legislation.

Carlson Slams Fox News for Apologizing for ‘Wannabe Dictator’ Headline
Fox News apologized and ousted a producer for running a headline seemingly calling President Joe Biden a "wannabe dictator" the same day former President Donald Trump was arraigned in court. Tucker Carlson criticized the move and compared Biden's actions to that of a "wannabe dictator" but also joked that just because he is trying to put his political rival in jail does not mean he has a totalitarian impulse. Carlson described the characteristics of a wannabe dictator, including enriching themselves at the expense of their citizens, censoring unauthorized opinions, and banning public protests. He also criticized Biden's comments claiming "ownership" of American children.

A two-year tax investigation into a Trump-owned golf course in Westchester County, New York has been dropped by a Democrat prosecutor. No charges will be filed against the former president or his company related to allegations of dishonest property evaluations to save on taxes. Trump called it "the honorable thing to do" while questioning when other "fake cases" against him would be dropped.

Fox News: Climate change protestors drop pants at Massachusetts Statehouse during tax relief package debate
Climate change protestors drop pants at Massachusetts Statehouse during tax relief package debate
Climate change protesters dropped their pants during a debate on a proposed tax relief package at the Massachusetts Statehouse. Protesters turned their backs to the Senate chamber and lowered their pants at around 1 p.m. to reveal letters that spelled out "STOP PASSING GAS!" on their bare backsides, wearing pink thongs. They were charged with trespassing on state property, disorderly conduct, and indecent exposure.

The group Extinction Rebellion has staged other protests at the Statehouse and plans to continue their efforts until lawmakers approve legislation banning new fossil fuel infrastructure. A major climate bill signed by former Gov. Charlie Baker last year encourages the development of offshore wind and solar energy and limits the use of fossil fuels in building projects.

The New American: Cops Telling Parents How to Raise Their Kids - The New American
Cops Telling Parents How to Raise Their Kids - The New American
Police were called after a 6-year-old girl walked by herself to get a Gatorade from a store in a Detroit suburb, despite not needing to cross any major roads, with her parents tracking her progress and equipping her with money and a phone. The cops interrogated the father, who refrained from arguing with them. His daughter continued to request similar walks in the weeks following the incident but stopped asking when she realized she would get in trouble with the authorities. Such incidents are indicative of a culture that forces parents to smother their children until they stop asking to go out, resulting in rising levels of childhood anxiety and depression.

Moore to the Point - Buyer, Be Woke
Corporate marketing is shifting from meeting customer demand to signaling virtue and shaping societal attitudes, with an emphasis on woke capital over monetary profit. This approach seems counterintuitive to traditional marketing principles, but it's being driven by investor agenda rather than consumer demand. The new paradigm is "Buyer, Be Woke."

Feds Introduce 'Just Transition' Sustainable Jobs Act Aimed at Canada's Energy Sector
Canada's federal government has introduced Bill C-50, or the “Sustainable Jobs Act,” to transition oil sector workers into green energy jobs as the government looks to push the country toward a net-zero economy by 2050. The bill aims to create the "Sustainable Jobs Partnership Council," require that Parliament receive a "Sustainable Jobs Action Plan" every five years, and establish a "Sustainable Jobs Secretariat" to help implement the legislation. The proposed legislation led to tension between the federal government and some provinces, particularly Alberta, which opposes transitioning out of its oil and gas industry.

The Epoch Times: American Citizens’ 401(k) Accounts Lost a Fifth of Their Value in 2022
American Citizens’ 401(k) Accounts Lost a Fifth of Their Value in 2022
The average and median balances of 401(k) accounts have decreased by 20% since year-end 2021, with many participants making "hardship withdrawals" due to financial stress, according to Vanguard's recent report. The decline in balances is primarily due to a fall in equity and bond markets over the year.

As the size of retirement accounts decreases, bank savings of American citizens have also dropped in recent years due to inflation and an uncertain economy. According to the Federal Reserve Bank of St. Louis, the personal saving rate was 4.1% in April 2023, with many individuals having less savings than a year ago. The percentage of American adults who reported being financially worse off in 2022 was the highest since 2014, according to the Federal Reserve Board.

BOJ, ECB Rate Decisions Send Yen to Fresh 15-year Low Against Euro
The Bank of Japan kept low interest rates and forecasted a slowdown in inflation. The yen fell to a 15-year low against the euro. Similarly, the dollar fell broadly following soft U.S. economic data, which saw traders scaling back bets on how high U.S. interest rates would need to rise. The ECB raised borrowing costs to a 22-year high and hinted at further rate hikes, while also indicating that another rate hike this year was highly likely, indicating that the central bank still has “ground to cover” to stave off high inflation. The Fed also signalled that borrowing costs may still need to rise by as much as half of a percentage point by the end of this year.

Catholic MLB Pitcher Destroys Dodgers For Honoring Drag ‘Nuns,’ ‘Can’t Stand Idly By While Our Lord Gets Mocked’
Washington Nationals pitcher Trevor Williams has condemned the LA Dodgers for inviting and honoring the "Sisters of Perpetual Indulgence," an LGBT drag group that openly mocks Christianity. Williams, a devout Catholic, is calling for Catholics to boycott the Dodgers and has partnered with the Catholic app Hallow to launch a 12-day prayer challenge. Williams believes that creating an environment that celebrates one group while disparaging another is counterproductive and morally wrong. He questions the notion that such acts were driven by love and tolerance and hopes to inspire unity and adherence to Christian values in the face of cultural division.

‘Make, Break, Remix: The Rise Of K-Style’ Profiles Korean Style Makers
Make, Break, Remix: The Rise of K-Style, a new book by Fiona Bae, introduces readers to some of the Korean stars behind the scenes, the style makers whose creativity and daring make k-style so vibrant. Bae interviewed creatives that include a k-pop choreographer, an interior designer, fashion designers, a chef, a tattoo artist and a k-pop stylist. They define what Bae describes as k-style, an approach to creativity that’s currently attracting attention as part of the Hallyu or Korean Wave, but actually predates the global fascination with k-media.

K-style is an attitude, primarily one that defies social constraints and prompts people to look at the familiar in a new way. It is more about how you live your life and how you create your work. The Internet helps promote Korean culture and also provides inspiration for Korean creatives to branch out on their own without the support of major corporations. Despite the challenges, an attitude of bravery and creativity is something recognized by creatives all over the world.

The Epoch Times: Longevity Isn't Really About Our Genes, Study Reveals
Longevity Isn't Really About Our Genes, Study Reveals
New research published in the Human Kinetics Journal has revealed that physical activity, not genetics, has the biggest impact on life expectancy among postmenopausal women aged 63 or older. The study found that, regardless of genetic risk factors, participating older women who exhibited higher physical activity levels had a lower mortality risk, while more sedentary participants increased their mortality risk during an average follow-up period of over six years. While family studies show around 25% of longevity variation is due to genetics, another study of 406 million people by genetics journal Genetics suggests that only 7% of lifespan can be attributed to genetics or heritability. This latest study focuses on how genetics impacts women specifically.

Heavily Prescribed Influenza Medicine Doesn't Work Well, Study Finds
Tamiflu, one of the most widely used influenza medications, is not effective in preventing severe complications that lead to hospitalization, according to a new study. The researchers analyzed data from 15 randomized clinical trials and found that Tamiflu did not significantly reduce hospital admissions and caused several adverse side effects, including vomiting, nausea, and gastrointestinal disorders. While the drugmaker Roche funded most of the trials that led to the drug's approval, the study urges future trials in high-risk populations to assess Tamiflu's risk-benefit profile.

Government Admits it is Powerless to Stop Milly Dowler Killer Getting Married
Detective Colin Sutton, who caught Levi Bellfield, a UK serial killer serving a life sentence, has called for changes to the law after the authorities admitted they cannot prevent Bellfield getting married. Sutton, who listened to Bellfield’s attempts to control his teenage girlfriend when he was on remand, called Bellfield’s ability to exert this control through marriage “a travesty of common sense and of justice”. Bellfield, who killed three young women, including 13-year-old Milly Dowler, and attempted to murder a fourth, was given up to £30,000 ($39,000) in legal aid in a successful bid under human rights law to be allowed to marry.

Forbes: Diamondbacks’ Corbin Carroll Has The Offensive Profile Of A Young Trea Turner
Diamondbacks’ Corbin Carroll Has The Offensive Profile Of A Young Trea Turner
Two MLB players, Diamondbacks’ Corbin Carroll and Phillies’ Trea Turner, are among the fastest in the league. Carroll recently signed an 8-year, $113 million contract with the D’backs, despite having a limited track record and significant injury history. However, he has proved to be a solid investment for the team, with a great batted ball authority profile and impressive performances on the field. Carroll's excessive pull tendency on the ground is the only remaining potential risk but he is set to be one of the best young players in the game for the foreseeable future.

Turner is one of the highest-paid players in the MLB and has a strong K/BB profile that has contributed to his above average performances on the field. However, he has struggled with an excessive launch angle, leading to a decrease in performance. Carroll, on the other hand, has a manageable launch angle but has a tendency to pull grounders excessively, which could pose a potential problem in the future. Nevertheless, Carroll's batted ball authority profile and speed make him a promising investment for the Diamondbacks in the long run.

U.S. Spy Chief Report Warns Tech Devices Giving Intel Community ‘Unfettered Access’ To Americans Personal Info
A newly declassified report from a US spy agency warns of the dangers of commercially available information (CAI), such as smartphone data, which is available to the general public and may contain substantial harms if misused. The report raises concerns that even though much of the data is 'anonymised', sensitive information can still be attributed to specific individuals, causing risks such as blackmail, stalking, and public shaming. The report also noted that the explosion in the number of CAI has been driven by digital technology advances and online-based monetisation models. While such data is "publicly available" and generally "less strictly regulated" than other information the intelligence community acquires, the report warns that changes in CAI "have considerably undermined the historical policy rationale for treating [publicly available information] categorically as non-sensitive information," that the intelligence community can use without significantly affecting privacy and civil liberties of US persons.
