Fox News: Biden torched for 'testy' response on Ukraine FBI informant file: 'Dangerous time to tell the truth'
Biden torched for 'testy' response on Ukraine FBI informant file: 'Dangerous time to tell the truth'
Conservative Twitter users criticized President Joe Biden after he berated a reporter for asking about his alleged corruption involving Ukraine and his son. The exchange happened during a speech on protecting American consumers from hidden junk fees when The New York Post’s Steven Nelson asked about allegations that Biden was the "Big Buy" in a supposed bribery scheme involving Ukrainian officials. Biden called the question "dumb," refused to answer and moved on as the press was ushered out of the room. According to new reports, a "highly credible" FBI source alleged that Biden had been paid $5 million by Burisma Holdings while his son was on its board.

Fox News: Leading activist slams Dems for dragging feet on reparations: Black vote 'is an exchange, not a gift'
Leading activist slams Dems for dragging feet on reparations: Black vote 'is an exchange, not a gift'
New York and California have passed bills to create commissions to study and potentially recommend reparations for slavery and racial discrimination. The commissions would be non-binding, and only New York's governor, Kathy Hochul, can sign the bill into law. However, some reparations activists blame Democrats in Congress for the lack of progress and see local efforts as more indicative of surrender than progress. They argue for direct cash payments to American descendants of slavery at the federal level. Critics argue that measures such as restitution payments won't ultimately address the problem and would be unaffordable, particularly for larger-scale programs.

Kanavel wants people to see past the uniform and understand that officers have passions and hobbies outside their work. She also launched an initiative called "Yes, she can" to empower young women in her community with skills like self-defense and situational awareness. Kanavel will represent Arizona in the Miss USA competition later this year and hopes to inspire young women to know they can do anything and be anything.

Foreign Policy: India and China Are Locked in a Cycle of Mutual Spite
India and China Are Locked in a Cycle of Mutual Spite
India and China have revoked each other's journalists' credentials, leaving no reporters on the ground from both. The relationship between the two has been tense following border clashes, India's ban on Chinese tech and China renaming places in India that India claims as its own. China has asked the last Indian journalist, from the Press Trust of India, to leave the country, though the Foreign Ministry said the remaining correspondent was “still working and living normally in China.” This move now entirely erases India’s press corps from Beijing. China has labeled India's actions against its journalists as “unfair and discriminatory"; meanwhile, India has not said much about the situation.

Jim Cramer After China Rate Cut: 'Any Stimulus Plan That Works Will Need Help From West'
China's central bank cut the rate on some medium-term lending facility loans to financial institutions by 10 basis points to 2.65%, marking the first downward adjustment in 10 months. Jim Cramer gave a bleak outlook for the U.S. market, saying any stimulus plan that works will need help from the West as unemployment among younger people remained high at 20% in China. Stocks sold off immediately after the Federal Reserve's June rate-setting meeting, indicating a weak start for Thursday's session. Categorize as .

The Epoch Times: Australian Energy Giant Sued for Allegedly Manipulating Electricity Prices
Australian Energy Giant Sued for Allegedly Manipulating Electricity Prices
Energy company AGL is being sued for allegedly manipulating power prices, causing financial damage to its customers. Law firm Piper Alderman launched the class action lawsuit against AGL, claiming that the company used bidding strategies to inflate electricity prices in South Australia between 2013 and 2020. Piper Alderman alleges that AGL breached Section 46 of the Competition and Consumer Act 2010 by creating an artificial scarcity of supply in the National Electricity Market and inflating electricity prices for consumers. The lawsuit is scheduled to come before the New South Wales Federal Court on July 13.

AGL announced an update to its 2022-2023 earning forecasts, revising its underlying earnings before interest, taxes, depreciation, and amortisation to $1.33-$1.375 billion. Its underlying profit after tax was also predicted to reach between $255 and $285 million. The company attributed the improved earnings to the sustained high wholesale energy prices as well as the commencement of operation of several projects. The CEO acknowledged that this was a tough period for everyone and advised customers to switch to monthly from quarterly bills to help them manage living cost pressures.

The Epoch Times: Australia Could End Up With Potentially Inferior US Fighter Jets
Australia Could End Up With Potentially Inferior US Fighter Jets
Australia's new F-35 fighter jets may be outdated as the Pentagon's delay of its TR-3 weapons system means the jets will be delivered with the older TR-2 system. Lockheed Martin confirmed that they would continue to work on developing TR-3 and remain fully dedicated to the project. However, the US military has delayed accepting any aircraft until testing on the TR-3 system is completed. Although Australia’s Defence Department has not commented on the impact of the delay, the delivery of the fighter jets was planned for the end of 2023, with "Australia [becoming] the second-largest operator of the fifth-generation jet, following the US."

Edwin Land, Inventor of Instant Photography
In 1947, Edwin Herbert Land demonstrated his instant photography to reporters, sparking major innovation in photography. The Polaroid Land Camera went on sale in 1948 and sold over two million cameras in just a few years. Despite its limitations, the public and art world loved the Polaroid, with John Lennon and Andy Warhol among its celebrity fans. Digital photography eventually led to the demise of Polaroid, but the company was revived by the Impossible Project in 2010, and new Polaroid cameras and film are now available. Land's legacy also inspired Apple founder Steve Jobs in his product development approach.

Forbes: As Gregg Berhalter Returns To USMNT, Mexico Owes Tata Martino Apology
As Gregg Berhalter Returns To USMNT, Mexico Owes Tata Martino Apology
Former Mexico national team coach Tata Martino may have gotten the most out of Mexico in his time as coach, as his replacement Diego Cocca hasn't performed as well. Although Cocca didn't have two of Mexico's best players, his only two wins came against regional minnows Suriname and Guatemala, while Mexico drew its only true home game 2-2 against Jamaica at the famed Estadio Azteca, earning a lower seed in the Nations League final round and was forced to face the Americans in the semis. The USMNT was dominant in a way we haven't seen in this rivalry, gaining a victory of 3-0, the largest margin of victory ever by the U.S. in a FIFA or CONCACAF competition.

There were some compelling reasons to move on from USA manager Berhalter after this cycle, but he clearly did a competent job at the 2022 World Cup before going on hiatus and now he has returned. He has a chance to build on that showing in 2026. However, no coach from the previous World Cup cycle emerged from Thursday night’s thrashing looking better than Martino, who may have been dealt a worse deck in his previous job than most of us realized. Although there’s no reason to feel too sorry for him. His next gig looks like it will be coaching Lionel Messi in Miami.

Flag And Cross: 2 Police Dogs Die From 'heat-related Injuries' After Patrol Vehicles Malfunction
2 Police Dogs Die From 'heat-related Injuries' After Patrol Vehicles Malfunction
Pet safety inside hot vehicles is gaining attention after several recent animal deaths, including that of a Houston Police Department K-9 called Aron, who died from heat exhaustion when left in a running, air-conditioned patrol vehicle that suddenly shut down. The Houston police K-9 vehicles have an alert system that notifies the handler, sounds the horn, activates cooling fans and rolls down the car windows if the vehicle shuts down, but this did not happen in Aron's case. An investigation is ongoing. Animal experts warn that it is dangerous to leave any pet in a closed vehicle, even for a short period of time. The temperature inside a car can reach over 100 degrees on a 70-degree day within 20 minutes and rolling down the windows has little effect.
