The Epoch Times: How Father's Day Was Created
Father's Day has been celebrated for over 100 years, originating from Spokane, Washington where a devoted daughter named Sonora Smart Dodd wanted to pay tribute to her Civil War-era widowed father who had raised six children on his own. After tirelessly drumming up support for the idea of a Father's Day observance, Dodd's petition was signed by the Spokane Ministerial Alliance and the mayor, and June 19, 1910 was set as the day. Over the next few years, Dodd tried to take the observance nationwide, and although support ebbed and flowed, in 1966 President Lyndon B. Johnson issued the first presidential proclamation giving official national recognition to the well-established tradition, and Father's Day became a permanent, national holiday in 1972.
Spectator USA: Why I hate the new Pride flag
The LGBTQ+ Pride flag has evolved beyond the original rainbow design to become more militant with the inclusion of brown and black stripes, and the Triangle of Trans. The latest iteration allows for any sexual identity group to join in by adding their logo, making the once-balanced flag look like a bumper-sticker-covered car. The use of rainbows, once a symbol of innocence and purity, has become a warning sign that the LGBTQ+ community is a community of Peter Pans. Christians have also been robbed of the rainbow as a symbol of God's covenant.

The Epoch Times: Ernie Pyle: The WWII Journalist in the Trenches
Ernie Pyle's writing style during World War II captured the minutiae of everyday soldiering, conveying the humanity amidst the devastation of war. Starting as a journalist-editor-columnist, Pyle's popularity grew after war coverage in London. He then became a full-time correspondent for Scripps-Howard newspapers, entrenched with US military in several campaigns. His writing expressed secondhand what they experienced firsthand. Despite his valor and service, Pyle died on April 18, 1945, from a Japanese machine gun bullet.

Spectator USA: Western media helped Soviets cover up the Katyn Massacre
In 1940, Stalin signed a decree to murder 14,700 Polish officers in Katyn. In 1943, the Soviets retook the woods and presented false evidence blaming Nazi Germany. British journalists were taken to the site where they found a forensic lab and fake witnesses. This book exposes how the media shapes the world and the flawed people who produce the stories.
