Biden mocked over 'plans' to build railroad 'across the Indian Ocean’: 'Bold initiative'

The Epoch Times: Former Head of Jan. 6 Bomb Investigation Reveals Key Obstacle to Identifying Suspect
Former Head of Jan. 6 Bomb Investigation Reveals Key Obstacle to Identifying Suspect
Former FBI official Steven D'Antuono has revealed that some of the data collected through geofencing, a technique used to locate all devices within a specific area, was corrupted in relation to identifying suspects linked to pipe bomb discovery at the US Capitol on January 6, 2021. The representative for Kentucky, Thomas Massie, has questioned the FBI's handling of the case following the revelation, calling it "unbelievable". The FBI has used the data obtained through geofencing in charging documents against people so far arrested over the Capitol Hill breach.

While speaking to the House Judiciary Committee on June 7, D'Antuono stated that the timers on the bomb could not have gone off and specifically said he did not think it was technically possible. Investigators have yet to discover when the bombs were supposed to detonate, and who was responsible for their placement remains unknown. The FBI has unwilling to comment on the ongoing investigation, which has seen a reward of $500,000 offered for information relating to a suspect.

Joe Biden Suffers Multiple Malfunctions While Touting a Railroad 'Across the Indian Ocean'
Joe Biden made several untrue comments and suffered multiple malfunctions during a speech at the League of Conservation Voters’ annual Capitol dinner. He blamed the United States for climate change and claimed that the United States has plans to build a railroad from the Pacific across the Indian Ocean. He also repeated a falsehood about Africa's population hitting one billion when it happened 14 years ago, among other false claims. Biden's "gaffes" are not normal and happen frequently, indicating his senility.

Breitbart: SadiqSpeak: London Mayor Tells Civil Servants Not to Say 'Illegal Migrants'
SadiqSpeak: London Mayor Tells Civil Servants Not to Say 'Illegal Migrants'
London Mayor Sadiq Khan has issued guidance to civil servants to stop using the term "illegal migrants" and instead use "undocumented migrants" or "people with insecure immigration status". The mayor also advised officials to use gender-neutral language and avoid "dated and medicalised" terms like "male" and "female." Conservative MP Miriam Cates criticized the taxpayer-funded practice. She said the idea that male and female are medical conditions is absurd and in conflict with fact, reality, and the law.

In a document seen by The Sun, Khan's administration suggested calling asylum-seekers "people seeking asylum" and non-English speakers "Londoners with English language needs." The guidance also instructed the use of "European Londoners and their families" instead of "EU nationals" and urged bureaucrats to heed the advice and distinguish between "migrants" and "Londoners". Conservative Party politicians and Twitter users criticized the guidance for trivializing sexual assault victims and prioritizing political correctness.

Fox News: CNN signals return to partisan era with coverage of Trump indictment: ‘Aura of divisiveness is back’
CNN signals return to partisan era with coverage of Trump indictment: ‘Aura of divisiveness is back’
CNN's coverage of the federal indictment of former President Trump shows the network has returned to its partisan Jeff Zucker-era approach to journalism, according to media watchdogs. Many believe that the network's staffers have signaled a return to the divisive, anti-Trump approach that Zucker championed, tarnishing CNN’s once-nonpartisan reputation. Following the departure of CEO Chris Licht, who sought to tamp down the liberal, anti-Trump approach, internal dissension culminated in Licht's dismissal and the possibility of a return to biased programming that is emboldening CNN's ideological approach to news.

The New American: The West Once Had Two Popes. Might America Have Two Presidents?
The West Once Had Two Popes. Might America Have Two Presidents?
A new Reuters/Ipsos poll shows that most Republicans believe the federal charges against former President Donald Trump are politically motivated. If Trump loses in the 2024 election, there is a risk that the public may see the outcome as the doing of a politically motivated government, which could lead to a crisis of division in which some states refuse to recognize the authority of the Democratic president. This could create a situation where different states support different claimants to the presidency, similar to the Western Schism in the Catholic Church.

The tensions resulting from controversial presidential elections during times of sharp ideological divides are capable of causing a schism in the United States. States may draw lines, with some supporting one claimant to the presidency while others support the other. This could lead to a national crisis and a risk of divisions in which some states refuse to recognize the authority of the Democratic president. The Biden administration pursuing charges against Trump may further contribute to this risk.

Ottawa Boosts Haiti Sanctions, Police Funding During Summit Aimed at Resolving Crisis
Canada is providing additional support to Haiti, including adding two former senators to its list of sanctioned Haitian elites and adding $40 million to funding for law enforcement. The move comes as Haiti faces a severe political and humanitarian crisis, with gangs filling a power vacuum after the assassination of president Jovenel Moïse. The United Nations' representative in the country notes recent earthquakes and floods have worsened instability, hunger, and a cholera outbreak. Some neighboring countries say there is hope Haiti can overcome the crisis, but there are concerns it may require international military intervention.

University to cut ties with Chinese Confucius Institute after GOP scrutiny on $17M DOD grant
Alfred University will sever ties with the Chinese Confucius Institute due to scrutiny from Rep. Mike Gallagher. The university received a $17m grant from the Pentagon to study hypersonic weapons for five years starting in 2022. Gallagher expressed concern about the partnership with the Chinese institution due to China's use of Confucius Institutes as a way to promote its soft power in the US, as well as the potential for intellectual property theft and improper technology export. The move comes as part of a broader push against Confucius Institutes, with the NDAA disqualifying schools from Defense Department grants if they host a Confucius Institute on campus starting from October 1.

The Economist: Germany’s new national security strategy is strong on goals, less so on means
Germany’s new national security strategy is strong on goals, less so on means
Germany releases its first-ever national security strategy, identifying Russia as “the most serious threat to peace and security in the Euro-Atlantic area” and pledging commitment to NATO and the EU. However, it lacks means and clarity. The strategy document reiterates previous, unfulfilled promises to boost defence spending to 2% of GDP and fails to specify when or how it will be implemented. Furthermore, the creation of a council with implementing power, like America’s National Security Council, was not included. The national security strategy’s slogan is also a reflection of the coalition politics.

Western Europe’s left lacks a vision for the future, battered by the populist right, and needs to address its asylum policies. A deadly shipwreck in Greek waters underlines this need. Ukraine’s counter-offensive is making mixed progress, its real test will come when it hits Russia’s prepared defences.

The Epoch Times: Toyota Shareholders Defeat Climate-Change Proposal, Decline ESG Funds
Toyota Shareholders Defeat Climate-Change Proposal, Decline ESG Funds
Toyota shareholders have voted against a climate-change disclosure proposal that had been submitted to them in May by three European funds. The proposal had sought an increase in the disclosure of Toyota's climate change-lobbying activities and was supported by the California Public Employees Retirement System and the New York City Comptroller’s Office. However, the Japanese automotive company's board had recommended it be rejected and on Wednesday it was voted down at Toyota's annual general meeting. Reporter data suggests that, by the end of May, similar proposals had achieved just 23% backing from shareholders, down from 36.6% in 2016 and 50% in 2015.

Toyota officials have repeatedly stated that the company is aiming for carbon neutrality in its line-up by 2050, however the company is also exploring multiple energy options for its vehicles, including hybrids and plug-ins, rather than focusing solely on battery electric vehicles. Toyota's executive, Masahiro Yamamoto has said that it is important to better convey the company's intentions to all shareholders. Akio Toyoda, the president of Toyota, has also said that the company is not in favour of companies pursuing electric-only agendas as they do not reflect the reality of the market and that too much investment was being put into lithium-ion batteries when there was still much that was unclear as to their future use.

U.S. Coast Guard Outperformed During Guam’s Mawar Recovery. Will Washington DC Notice?
The U.S. Coast Guard's pre-storm preparation and diligent post-storm recovery efforts have received little attention, despite their superior performance in supporting Guam during Typhoon Mawar. The Coast Guard relied on strategic investments in practical, low-profile capabilities, a bias for action, and an efficient approach to complete disaster response missions. Guam's port, which opened far faster than expected, was a testament to the effectiveness of the Coast Guard's approach. However, despite their success and contributions, the Coast Guard is scantly-funded and oft-overlooked, highlighting the need for greater funding and recognition.

The family of a man killed in the 6th Street mass shooting in Austin, Texas, two years ago claim that the trial has been delayed by Soros-funded Travis County District Attorney Jose Garza. They believe that Garza’s soft-on-crime policies have prevented the alleged shooter, De’Ondre White, from facing trial. Garza’s lack of communication and failure to provide evidence to the defense in a timely manner have also postponed the case. Kantor family members, friends and community members still mourn Douglas Kantor, who was killed in one of Austin's largest mass shootings. The concept of revictimization has arisen due to the subsequent delays in the trial, and the actions of Garza since he took office in January 2021.

Fly Fishing 101: A Beginner's Guide to Getting Started in Fly Fishing
Learn the basics of fly fishing with Fly Fishing 101. The lure used in fly fishing is an artificial, insect-like “fly” that is cast to get the fish’s attention. Unlike regular angling, fly fishing requires resting the lure at or near the surface of the water, which is why fly fishing anglers use bright, thick lines to carry its own weight through the air. Fly lures come in dry flies, nymphs, and streamers, and it's important to match the hatch based on the type of prey your target fish are after. Mastering the fly fishing cast is key to tricking your target fish into thinking a juicy fly just popped into striking distance.
