The Epoch Times: First Busload of Illegal Immigrants Arrives in Los Angeles from Texas
First Busload of Illegal Immigrants Arrives in Los Angeles from Texas
Gov. Greg Abbott of Texas has sent around 40 illegal immigrants to Los Angeles, marking the first time such a move has been made. The individuals will be provided with care and support services at St. Anthony’s Croatian Catholic Church in the city. Abbott justified the move by pointing out that Texas border towns are overwhelmed due to thousands of people crossing the US-Mexico border under President Joe Biden’s immigration policies. Texas has transported over 21,600 illegal immigrants from border towns to Democrat-led sanctuary cities since April 2022. L.A. Mayor Karen Bass called Abbott’s actions a “despicable stunt."

The Federalist: $400B Was Stolen Or Wasted In Covid Fraudsters' 'Great Grift'
$400B Was Stolen Or Wasted In Covid Fraudsters' 'Great Grift'
The COVID-era programs initiated by the US government, which involved forcibly shutting down the entire economy, replacing economic activity with government payments, and appropriating nearly $5.2 trillion for COVID-related efforts, brought along staggering numbers of fraud and waste. According to an investigation titled “The Great Grift” by The Associated Press, around 10% of the $4.2 trillion spent so far has resulted in fraud or waste, with $280 billion in stolen money and another $123 billion wasted or misspent. Investigators face a backlog that could keep them occupied for the next hundred years.

The federal government still has roughly $1 trillion left to spend, much of which has been contractually obligated but not yet spent, which provides an explanation or excuse as to why Congress couldn't rescind the full $1 trillion in last month’s debt limit deal. Additionally, of the roughly $4.2 trillion spent so far, nearly 20% or $1 trillion has yet to be paid out. The Biden administration ended the public health emergency for the virus, but there is still a huge amount of federal “COVID cash” left to be spent. Fraud and waste account for more than $400 billion, representing 20 times more than what the federal government spends on cash welfare payments every year.

Fox News: Trump, drawing more criticism on the right, could slow-walk the trial
Trump, drawing more criticism on the right, could slow-walk the trial
Conservative outlet The Wall Street Journal has dubbed Donald Trump "The Self-Destructive Donald Trump" due to the consequences of his document fiasco if he were to win a second term. Trump has been indicted on federal charges concerning the mishandling of state secrets, drawing criticism from GOP members such as Mike Pence, Nikki Haley, and Ron DeSantis. Despite this, many Republicans remain loyal to Trump, and legal experts are predicting that the Trump team will find ways to slow the case down, possibly until the next election. The possibility that Trump could win the case at trial or get a hung jury also remains.

The Federalist: The DOJ's Sordid History Of Weaponizing The Espionage Act
The DOJ's Sordid History Of Weaponizing The Espionage Act
Just Security, an organization led by Andrew Weissman and funded by George Soros, released a 186-page "model prosecution memorandum" seeking to offer any theory of law to "get Trump", largely telegraphing the DOJ's legal strategy. The document provides multiple ways to charge Trump under the Espionage Act, despite the fact that the DOJ is adept at using 18 U.S.C. 793 (e) to punish its political enemies, as shown in the case of Thomas A. Drake. The judge in the Drake case scolded the government's unjust behavior and failure to prove that any leaked information was classified, and the Espionage Act charges were ultimately dropped. Jack Smith, who signed off on the government's retreat in the Drake case, is now the special counsel prosecuting Donald Trump. The former president remains in genuine legal peril, with the DOJ's partisan weaponization of the Espionage Act led by Smith.

Front Page Magazine: Donald Trump's Arraignment
Donald Trump's Arraignment
Former President Trump's indictment by the Justice Department has created legal and political turmoil. Early indications suggest that Republican voters and presidential candidates believe the charges against Trump are politically motivated. DeSantis, for example, has been one of the leading challengers to Trump tweeting about the "weaponization of federal law enforcement." Legal experts view the indictment as serious, with the sensitive nature of the documents listed being a cause for concern. Furthermore, the Biden administration has crossed a constitutional Rubicon in indicting a leading presidential candidate. The resolution of this case will take a long time, raising questions about the limits of attorney-client privilege, the authority of the presidency, and the seriousness of Trump's actions.

Parents Resist The Rainbow Mafia's Unmistakable Intolerance
Muslim parents and other community members protested outside the offices of the Ottawa Carleton School Board in Ottawa, Canada, with signs saying “Leave the Kids Alone,” pushing back at what they see as indoctrination of their children in schools. The protesters were joined by Christians and Jews in asking schools to allow parents to make decisions about their children's education. The protests are part of a growing backlash against the increasing presence of LGBT propaganda in classrooms, and attempts by politicians and activists to enforce fluid gender and sexuality views.

Townhall: Co-opted Drug Cartels Are Enemy Hybrid Warfare Operations
Co-opted Drug Cartels Are Enemy Hybrid Warfare Operations
U.S. states want Mexican drug cartels to be designated as FTOs due to their connection to terrorist organizations and involvement in drug-related deaths. Mexican cartels import fentanyl-making raw materials from China and are a societal threat to the U.S. by collaborating with foreign terrorist organizations. Failure to recognize the dangers of FACHWO (foreign adversary collaborating hybrid-warfare organizations) and the societal destruction being carried out by these cartels is playing into the hands of China.

Front Page Magazine: Soft Secession
Soft Secession
California and other Democrat-run states have declared war on ICE, while some Republican states have responded by ordering law enforcement to cooperate with ICE. But it may be time for Republican states to consider their own forms of soft secession by targeting federal agencies that are hostile to conservative values, such as the Department of Education, EPA, IRS, and Bureau of Land Management. Democrat states ended cooperation with ICE, and Republican states can do the same with other federal agencies that are ideologically alien. They can legislate to end all cooperation with these agencies and cut off any state business to any company providing services to these agencies. Soft secession can make the people living in states happier, safer, and better off, and can be a healthy alternative to a national conflict. By democratizing federalism, states can reclaim the authority they have given up to make local power more meaningful. Federalization has accelerated America’s crackup, and soft secession may be the one thing that can save America from coming apart.
