Flag And Cross: 28-Year-Old Illegal Arrested for Allegedly Posing as High School Student for a Year
An illegal immigrant, aged 28, reportedly posed as a ninth-grade student at a Louisiana high school. Martha Jessenia Gutierrez-Serrano attended courses at Hahnville High School as a 17-year-old during the course of a year in 2022, with her mother charged for using a false passport to enroll her. Allegedly evading suspicions, the situation was reportedly brought to authorities' attention via a tip off from an anonymous individual. Both mother and daughter were arrested and will face charges concerning the public record.

However, the PLCAA does not protect manufacturers if a faulty firearm causes injury but rather protects them from frivolous lawsuits.

Oregon Senate's Republican members ended their six-week walkout and reached a compromise with the Democrats on stalled bills relating to abortion, transgender healthcare, and gun safety. The Republicans opposed measures on abortion and gender-affirming care, which Democrats said would still ensure abortion access and protect caregivers from anti-abortion or gender-affirming care measures passed by other states. As both parties agreed, minors seeking abortions but wanting to avoid telling their parents, such as in cases of incest, a provider would have to obtain approval from a second provider. The boycott also blocked the approval of the two-year state budget and a gun-safety measure.
On June 1, Senate Democrats voted to fine senators $325 every time their absence denied a quorum. Oregon Democratic House and Senate members also sponsored a joint resolution proposing an amendment to the state Constitution to require a majority of each chamber in the Legislature to be present to conduct business. If passed by the Legislature, it would go before Oregon voters in a ballot measure in the 2024 election. The governor is pleased that lawmakers from the House and Senate came together before the regular session ends. Oregon is currently one of four states that require a two-thirds majority rather than a simple one, and state representatives have introduced a resolution to amend the state's constitution and for a simple majority.

Former President Donald Trump has a 32-point lead in New Hampshire for the Republican nomination, with 44 percent support among likely primary voters, following his indictment and the entry into the race of Ron DeSantis. A National Research survey found that DeSantis fell six points to 12 percent, while former New Jersey Governor Chris Christie rose by seven points to seven percent, with tie between former South Carolina Governor Nikki Haley and Senator Tim Scott at five percent and Doug Burgum at three percent. Despite the indictment and increasing competition, Trump has gained five points and an 11-point swing in his direction over the past month.

After the backlash from religious groups, the Dodgers withdrew their invitation to the radical anti-Christian group, however, later re-invited them to the team's Pride Night and apologized to the group, stating that the apology was sincere. The United States Conference of Catholic Bishops condemned the Dodgers' decision to honor the group and called it blasphemy. Amid the controversy, the Dodgers announced they would hold a Christian Faith and Family Day on July 30.

A baby in North Branch, Minnesota survived after being revived by doctors 16 minutes after his birth. Owen Hubert had a difficult start as his blood supply was cut off prior to his delivery, and he was born without a heartbeat or breathing. Doctors were finally able to save him with an emergency delivery and managed to revive him, after which he experienced a small seizure and was placed on a ventilator. However, Owen is now thriving and shows no signs of brain damage. The medical team who helped Owen are being credited, along with a transport isolette that transferred him to Children’s Minnesota.

An American man has been arrested in Germany for the death of a US tourist and an assault on another after he allegedly pushed the two women down a steep slope near the Neuschwanstein Castle. The 30-year-old man met the two female tourists on a hiking path and lured them onto a trail that leads to a viewpoint. The younger woman was attacked by the suspect, and the older one was then choked followed by push down a slope. The assailant then tried to sexually assault the 21-year-old woman before pushing her down the slope as well. The suspect fled the scene but was quickly apprehended nearby and is under investigation on suspicion of murder, attempted murder, and sexual offense.

The investigation will focus on potential economic and marine-life problems affecting commercial fishing in the North Atlantic Planning Area. Senators from New Jersey, Connecticut, Oregon, and Rhode Island have asked for greater transparency, and a pause on offshore wind projects, until the study is completed. The effects of offshore wind turbines on whale mortality has also become a prominent issue. Concerns from fisheries scientists about the ability of fish to feed or spawn due to the turbines have also been expressed.
