Researchers have found a new dinosaur species, Khankhuuluu mongoliensis, in a Mongolian museum. This species is the closest known ancestor to all tyrannosaurs, dating back 86 million years.

The discovery sheds light on the evolution of tyrannosaurs, illustrating how they transformed from small hunters into powerful predators. Key anatomical changes, particularly in skull structure, enabled stronger bites and contributed to their dominance.
