Breitbart: Half of Albanian Migrants Given Asylum Despite Coming From Safe Country
The British government granted asylum to over half of illegal Albanian migrants despite the fact that Albania is a safe country. The parliamentary Home Affairs committee called on the Home Office to explain why such a large percentage of illegal migrants who hail from Albania were granted asylum, as well as to explain why Albania is one of the few European countries to receive so many asylum claims from its citizens .
Breitbart: Farage Mocks Sunak for Taking Credit From Weather for Stopping Boats
Over 1,200 illegal migrants crossed the English Channel just a week after PM Rishi Sunak claimed success in stopping the boats. Nigel Farage mocked Sunak for claiming that “result of actions” implemented by his administration were the reason crossings were down, as it was really just due to windy conditions. Farage’s predictions held true, with 87 migrants crossing on Saturday, 616 on Sunday, and 545 on Monday. Sunak has instead said that the government will seek to house migrants in floating barges off the English coast but this will only make a small dent in the number of migrants being housed in hotels across the country, with upwards of 50,000 being put up at the expense of the taxpayer.
The Epoch Times: Texas to Deploy Chain of Buoys Across Rio Grande to Deter Illegal Immigrant Crossings
Governor Greg Abbott announced that a 1,000-foot floating barrier made up of rotating buoys will be installed in the middle of the Rio Grande to prevent illegal immigrants from crossing the southern border. The floating barrier will be installed at a crossing hot spot near Eagle Pass in Maverick County, Texas. The barrier is designed to prevent people from entering the water and can be moved to another location if needed. The installation is expected to cost "under $1 million" and is part of a $9.6 billion budget allocated for border security.

The Epoch Times: 'One of the Greatest Judicial Minds': Process to Replace Brown on Supreme Court Will Take Time
Supreme Court Justice Russell Brown has resigned, leaving a significant gap in the country’s top court, says lawyer Joanna Baron. Brown’s resignation means a new Supreme Court judge will have to be appointed, likely from a western province or territory. Brown, one of the more right-leaning judges, made significant decisions, including his dissenting opinions against the federal carbon tax and the “Greenhouse Gas Pollution Pricing Act.” Brown was also the last of the Harper government appointees and resigned amid allegations of misconduct. The Advocates for the Rule of Law have requested that Prime Minister Justin Trudeau appoint a successor who exhibits similar brilliance and commitment to foundational principles.

Forbes: Could Trump Be Pardoned? Some 2024 Rivals Open To It—But Still Unclear If He Can Pardon Himself
Former President Donald Trump faces 37 federal charges and possible prison time which may prompt his rivals in the 2024 Republican primary race to consider granting him a pardon if he is convicted. Some Republican candidates like Ron DeSantis have been open about their position on granting pardons to victims of “disfavored treatment” by the Justice Department while others like Nikki Haley believe pardoning Trump would be “good for the country.” Mike Pence, on the other hand, has labeled the allegations against Trump as “serious” but is yet to comment on pardoning Trump if convicted. Other candidates like Larry Elder believe they would pardon Trump if they win the presidency while Asa Hutchinson has called on Trump to drop out of the 2024 race "for the good of the country."

The government will allocate approximately $25 billion over the next three years towards a comprehensive childcare package, student loans for higher education and support for those taking childcare leave, among other measures.

Fox News: Belarus president says Russia now sending over nuclear weapons amid Ukrainian counteroffensive
Belarus President Lukashenko announced that Russia has begun delivering tactical nuclear weapons, allegedly three times more powerful than those used in Hiroshima and Nagasaki. Strategically, this move serves as a deterrent, Lukashenko argued. Western countries have long coveted Belarus, according to him. Belarus has largely sided with Russia in the Ukraine conflict, allowing Russian forces to pass through Belarus to further ensnare Ukraine. Belarus shares a border with Lithuania, Latvia and Poland, all NATO countries. Lukashenko has promised to use the weapons if NATO declares aggression on his country.

American Thinker: Failed state? Tijuana's mayor flees cartel threats to army base in fear of her life
Tijuana's mayor has fled to a military base due to numerous cartel threats, and with the city's 2,000 murders this past year, including the targeted shooting at her bodyguard, the situation is catastrophic. The open borders, generated by Joe Biden's policies, have created a profitable market for cartels, who are now aiming to gain political power in northern Mexico. The failed state of Tijuana ultimately poses a threat to the US as the cartels grow in power, challenging Mexico as an expanded criminal empire. The solutions are to cut off the money to the cartels and stop the flow of drugs and migrants across the border.

Forbes: Madison Avenue Takes On Capitalism
Capitalism is becoming increasingly unpopular among younger Americans, with just 57% having a positive view of it and even fewer among adults under 30. To tackle this issue, Forbes put out an 18-page request-for-proposal to top advertising agencies, asking for ideas to catalyzing a cultural conversation about capitalism, with the objective of destigmatizing the word among young adults and prompting conversations. In response, four respected agencies developed pro-bono campaigns, aiming to shift the audience’s rejection of the system as hopeless, to hopeful and create a productive conversation about capitalism's future.

The Epoch Times: Parliament Should Consider Introducing an Excess Profit Tax for Grocers, Committee Suggests
A Canadian parliamentary committee has recommended that a windfall tax should be applied to grocers if the country's Competition Bureau discovers evidence of excess profits from food items. The report states that firms in some certain sectors have reported record earnings which begs a question as to whether they are contributing to inflation by driving up prices. One CEO of Canadian grocer, Loblaw, stated that the company's profit margins have not increased over the past year despite higher grocery prices. The government has yet to decide if they will follow the committee's recommendation.

Breitbart: Paul McCartney Says the Beatles' Last Song was Created with Help from Artificial Intelligence
AI extracted John Lennon’s voice from an old demo tape recorded before his death, allowing a new Beatles record to be created. The groundbreaking technology was used during the making of Peter Jackson’s “The Beatles: Get Back” documentary, and enabled Lennon’s voice, guitar and piano to be separated from each other. The record, based on an unreleased 1978 demo, has been mixed like any other, and the technology has also enabled a “duet” between Paul McCartney and Lennon. McCartney has described the technology as “kind of scary but exciting”.

Fox News: Biden admin asks court to reinstate gas ban in liberal California city
The Biden administration wants to reinstate the ban on natural gas hookups in new buildings proposed by Berkeley, California. The DOJ filed a brief in the Ninth Circuit, arguing that local elected officials are allowed to address "health and safety concerns". The Berkeley law technically banned gas pipes, but the court ruled in April that it violated the Energy Policy and Conservation Act. The DOJ claimed that the court failed to explain why this ordinance's indirect effects warranted preemption.
