Fox News: California Border Patrol chief slams 'sanctuary' law after illegal immigrant allegedly takes life during DUI
The Border Patrol chief for California's El Centro sector criticized SB54, a state law that limits cooperation between state and local authorities and federal immigration agencies. Chief Gregory Bovino blamed the law for an accident where a drunk driver in the country illegally killed someone. Bovino did not provide further details about the accident. A congressman from Texas has proposed DNA testing to determine an illegal alien's family ties to a minor. Critics of SB54 say it allows illegal immigrants who commit crimes to re-offend after being released instead of being handed over to federal immigration authorities.

Flag And Cross: Republican Wins Special Election, Flipping District Democrats Won Just Months Ago
Former state representative Abden Simmons, a Maine Republican, won a seat in the state's House of Representatives in a special election held on Tuesday. Simmons was declared the winner with 52% of the vote, defeating Democrat Wendy Pieh. Simmons will replace Democrat Clinton Collamore, who resigned in February after being accused of violating the Maine Clean Elections Act and forgery. His win is seen as a boost to Republicans, who hope to flip the House in future elections.
The New American: Traitor to the Constitution: The U.S. Government Is the Real Criminal - The New American
The indictment of Donald Trump is just another distraction to divert attention from the corrupt and self-serving American Deep State. The government abuses its power and oversteps its authority, betraying the American people and disregarding the rule of law. The danger to American freedoms comes from the government itself and the powers it has granted to its standing armies. The Constitution no longer stands a chance against the federalized, globalized standing army protected by the legislative, judicial and executive branches. No matter what political views someone subscribes to, they are not on the side of freedom.
Newsbusters: Chris Rufo’s War Against Woke Institutions
Chris Rufo fights leftist indoctrination at Florida's New College, leading to his appointment as trustee. Leaks from government workers reveal Diversity, Equity & Inclusion officials push anti-white racism via critical race theory. Florida bans public universities from funding DEI and teaching the 1619 project. FIRE calls the move unconstitutional, but Rufo defends it, saying politics is for protecting students from race hatred. School choice empowers parents to choose what their children are taught.
The Epoch Times: Republican Governors Ask Congress to Overturn California's Pork Producing Law
Eleven Republican governors are asking Congress to repeal a California law that they say will disrupt the US's food supply. The governors have signed a letter asking Congress to protect agriculture and reintroduce legislation banning individual states from imposing regulations on agricultural production in other states. Over half of the country’s pork, which is a staple product in the US, production comes from rural states like Iowa and Texas. In May, the US Supreme Court voted to uphold California’s Proposition 12, which requires all pork producers who want to sell pork in California to provide their breeding pigs with at least 24 feet of floor space.

President Biden has vetoed a Republican-backed resolution to repeal the Environmental Protection Agency's stricter air pollution standards for heavy-duty trucks. These standards would improve air quality and lead to many public health benefits, according to the EPA. However, Republicans argue that it would cause a rise in transportation costs, making it harder for Americans. The resolution narrowly passed the Senate and House, but Biden's veto ultimately blocked it.

The Epoch Times: Trudeau's Former Adviser Defends Not Briefing PM on Beijing Threats to MPs
A Canadian official testified before a committee that a report on Chinese interference did not warrant being shared immediately with Prime Minister Justin Trudeau. The report contained information about Beijing seeking to target unidentified MPs for their stance on human rights in China. The information was never briefed to any minister but only came to light after a newspaper reported on it. Critics say the senior official refused to accept responsibility and had judged the information insignificant. A follow-up report suggested a "large clandestine transfer of funds earmarked for the federal election from the PRC Consulate in Toronto was transferred to an elected provincial government official".
Foreign Policy: Russian Oil Shipment Arrives in Pakistan
Russia delivers first crude oil shipment to Pakistan in deal struck in April, reflecting a surge in cooperation between the countries as well as countries in the global south aiming to balance relations between Moscow and the West in the wake of the war in Ukraine. While the energy cooperation between Moscow and Islamabad is significant, it may not be sustainable due to Pakistan's economic crisis, concerns of antagonizing the United States, and geopolitical concerns of maintaining neutrality toward Russia and Ukraine. India remains committed to its partnership with Russia. Cyclone Biparjoy approaches India and Pakistan, adding to the region's exposure to extreme weather and effects of climate change, while Sri Lanka shows signs of economic recovery by ending import restrictions on 286 items following last year's default on its debts.

Despite the threat of the national security law, Hongkongers ascended to the top of Lion Rock on the fourth anniversary of the anti-extradition movement. They raised “GLORY HK” light signs to express their hope for freedom and light amidst darkness. The song “Glory to HK” was widely sung during the movement and even ranked higher than the Chinese national anthem on Google. The government has applied for a court injunction to ban the song, but it has taken root in the hearts of Hong Kong people and represents the spirit of Hong Kong. The movement broke out due to the government's extradition bill amendment, leading to the passing of the National Security Law that restricts the freedoms of Hong Kong people. Despite the risk of being arrested, Hongkongers continue to climb Lion Rock to express their aspirations for democracy and freedom.

Forbes: Southern Baptists Approve Stricter Ban On Female Pastors
The Southern Baptist Convention (SBC) has voted preliminarily to amend its constitution to more explicitly bar women from serving as pastors within its churches. The amendment requires another vote in favor at the SBC’s next annual meeting to be final. Recently, the SBC expelled five churches from its membership because those churches had female pastors and were therefore “not in friendly cooperation with the Southern Baptist Convention.”
National Review: The Corner: The Dodgers, Religious Freedom, Real Los Angeles Sisters & More
Dodgers face backlash for honoring the “Sisters of Perpetual Indulgence,” a group that mocks Catholic nuns and espouses sexualization. Many religious people are outraged by the move and argue that true religious figures, such as the Little Sisters of the Poor, have been neglected in favor of those who engage in offensive behavior. However, Hollywood, academia, and the media control the commanding heights of culture and the definition of hate, leaving religious figures to fight for their freedom.
Washington Nationals player Trevor Williams calls out the Dodgers for honoring the “Sisters of Perpetual Indulgence” and making a mockery of his religion. He expresses his belief that religious groups should be free to exercise their beliefs without being ridiculed. The Dodgers, along with Hollywood, academia, and the media, have failed to distinguish between groups that contribute positively to society, such as the Little Sisters of the Poor, and groups that promote offensive behaviors.

The Epoch Times: The Rewards of Mindful Parenting
Living in the modern world can make it difficult to be present in the lives of our children, but it's important to be mindful of our time with them. Mindful parenting means giving children our undivided attention, listening intently, and practicing empathy. It can be difficult to change family culture overnight, but starting small and building towards a more present and patient attitude can have a positive effect on children.
National Review: The Corner: Finally a Little Accountability on Child-Masking
Republicans Chip Roy and Kevin Kiley criticized Democrats for promoting mandatory masks for children during the pandemic. Kiley questioned whether the policy actually saved lives, while Roy accused Democrats of wanting to force children to wear masks. The policy has been widely criticized and is seen as contributing to learning loss and political polarization. Many believe that the experts and elites who supported the policy were out of touch with common sense.
The American Mind: Genital Mutilation for the Masses
urgery complications are rare. However, many transgender patients face community scorn if they discuss the harm being done to them, their bodies, their wallets, their career or educational advancement, and their sexual-urologic function. Patients who regret these highly-experimental procedures are unable to express levels of regret one would reasonably expect from an evidence-based surgical intervention. Gender-identity surgery has a significant complication rate, and the surgeries are the same for those with medically necessary disorders of sexual development as for those undergoing gender affirming surgery. Patients are discouraged from speaking up about their regrets due to fear of backlash from the transgender community.

However, adult users saw a decrease to more normal risk after using “the pill” for more than two years or getting off the pill. Researchers still insist that birth control is safe to use despite evidence of risk.
Washington Free Beacon: EPA Admits Proposal to Ban Essential Dry Cleaning Chemical Won’t Help The Environment
The EPA wants to ban a chemical used by many dry cleaners due to health concerns, but critics say the proposed rule would devastate small businesses. While the EPA claims the chemical has little impact on the environment, industry experts argue that the health risks are overstated and that the rule would cause significant harm to the 6,000 dry cleaners that still use it. The proposed ban is the latest example of the Biden administration's politically motivated regulations under the guise of protecting health.
