Washington Free Beacon: WATCH: Hawley Slams HHS Over Migrant Child Labor Scandals
Senator Josh Hawley criticizes Biden administration for allowing migrant children to be sold into slavery after crossing the border. Hawley called out HHS secretary Xavier Becerra for allegedly ignoring warnings from employees about migrant children's safety. The New York Times reported that thousands of unaccompanied migrant children ended up working grueling jobs in dangerous conditions. Hawley accuses the administration of cowardice for refusing to answer questions about the crisis. The administration's policies for dispersing migrant children have come under fire for allowing children to be sent to the homes of unscreened adults, some of whom could be registered sex offenders or have a history of child neglect.

The Epoch Times: Poilievre and Singh to Begin Talks on Terms for Foreign Interference Inquiry
Conservative and NDP leaders plan talks to establish a nonpartisan, public inquiry into foreign interference. Former governor general David Johnston resigned after recommending against a public inquiry, citing difficulties with revealing national security information to the public. Opposition parties seek to avoid giving the Liberal government an excuse not to implement an inquiry.
Breitbart: Chaffetz and Schweizer: 'Government Runs on Auto-Pilot by Puppeteers'
Former Congressman Jason Chaffetz claims that the Democrats have been gradually taking over the government for the past 15 years, with much of the administration now on autopilot and immune to congressional oversight. Three-quarters of government spending is automated and programmatic, including all the entitlement programs, while the remaining budget deals only concern about 10% of annual spending. Chaffetz's new book, Puppeteers: The People Who Control the People Who Control America, explores the deep state, administrative government, and the puppet masters who direct elected politicians. It reveals how unelected bureaucrats, climate activists, and teachers' unions are holding the strings and making the real decisions.
Chaffetz believes that term limits should be implemented not just for congressmen, but also for the administrative state, including senior staff, cabinet secretaries, and top economic advisers. His book reveals the people controlling the government, such as George Soros and Brian Deese, who was Joe Biden's top economic adviser until February. Deese, who was the head of sustainable investing at BlackRock, is a climate activist. Chaffetz's experience as chairman of the House Oversight Committee until 2017, followed by writing the book, has given him a deeper insight into the workings of the government. The podcast, The Drill Down, delves further into the topic.
The New American: Articles of Impeachment Introduced Against Biden and Harris - The New American
Lauren Boebert, a Congresswoman from Colorado and member of the House Freedom Caucus, introduced articles of impeachment against President Joe Biden for his "unconstitutional dereliction of duty" at the southern border. Boebert cited Biden's failure to stop illegal immigration and fentanyl as the reason for the impeachment. She also threatened to use a "privileged motion" if the House leadership did not take action. Boebert and fellow freedom caucus member, Congressman Andy Ogles, also cosponsored articles of impeachment against Vice President Kamala Harris for her failure to address the border crisis. Only a small minority of House Republicans reportedly supported the impeachment proceedings.
Forbes: Virginia’s New Permitting Portal Is A Model For Other States
Virginia has established an innovative online permit tracking portal called the Permitting Enhancement and Evaluation Platform (PEEP) for applicants, government officials, and the public. The PEEP is a management tool that allows the government to track the permits it is approving as well as a customer service device that enables applicants to track their application's stage in the process. The portal creates transparency and accountability while documenting key steps, the time each step should take, and who is in charge of each task. It is visually pleasing and easy to use, and eventually, all state permitting processes will be tracked in the PEEP system.
Townhall: The Trump Indictment
Trump indicted for serious felonies related to hiding sensitive national security documents at Mar-a-Lago. Despite years of making insane accusations against Trump, liberals finally have him dead to rights. Trump's excuses are false and irrelevant to the obstruction of justice charges against him. Trump's case could end with a deal or a report reciting his crimes but declining to prosecute, as happened to Hillary. Prosecuting Trump helps Biden by revving up the Trump crazies.
The Epoch Times: 'It's Like They Wanted This to Happen,' Texas Lawmaker Tells Jan. 6 Hearing
Texas Rep. Troy Nehls said Capitol police leadership may have wanted the Jan. 6 riot to happen because the intelligence that was available was covered up. Nehls also laid most of the blame for the failure on former assistant Capitol Police Chief Yogananda Pittman, and suggested she hid the intelligence. Nehls added that he believed Air Force veteran Ashli Babbitt was murdered just outside the entrance to the Speaker’s Lobby at about 2:45 p.m. on Jan. 6 when USCP Lt. Michael Byrd fired one shot at her.
Fox News: CNN's coverage of Trump indictment after Chris Licht firing shows echoes of more partisan Jeff Zucker era
CNN appears to be returning to the anti-Trump programming of the Jeff Zucker-era following the departure of CEO Chris Licht. Licht wanted to dial back the partisan approach of his predecessor, but his offer of a town hall to former President Donald Trump led to him losing the faith of both the newsroom and CEO David Zaslav. CNN anchor Jake Tapper has told viewers it would be "dangerous" to air a Trump speech live because he "says a lot of things that are not true and sometimes potentially dangerous."

Spectator USA: Biden gives Trump the silent treatment
Former president Donald Trump pleaded not guilty to thirty federal charges and celebrated his birthday in Miami, showcasing his signature flair for drama and absurdity. Meanwhile, current president Joe Biden and the Democratic Party have taken a vow of silence on the indictment, with some Democrats expressing concern that Biden may miss an opportunity to underscore the gravity of the situation and deliver a political blow to his rival. However, the quiet approach may be the better strategy, especially given Biden's own legal challenges and the growing pressure on him to speak up as legal questions continue to dominate the conversation.

The Epoch Times: Battle Over Biden’s Senate Records Continues in Delaware’s Supreme Court
The University of Delaware's denial of FOIA requests related to President Joe Biden's Senate records is being reconsidered by the state Supreme Court. Judicial Watch and Daily Caller News Foundation are seeking to overturn a ruling that found the university had met its obligations under the law by denying the requests. The university has argued that it did not need to conduct a search, as public funds were not used in the custody and curation of Biden’s records, but the Supreme Court found its factual assertions lacking. It remains unclear whether the university housed any classified materials for Biden during his time in the Senate.

Spectator USA: What Paul Ryan got wrong about the culture wars
Former House Speaker Paul Ryan denounces the GOP's culture war efforts, saying that he is not a "culture war guy" and that instead he is focused on issues like China and the debt crisis. Many Republican critics perceive his comments as being out of touch with uncomfortable issues. The vast majority of Republican voters want to nominate either Donald Trump or Ron DeSantis, who are both populists that have leaned into the culture war, while some conservatives still remain uncomfortable with the "culture warrior" prospect. However, many working-class and middle-class families are forced to be "culture war guys," unable to afford segregating their children from cultural aggressors in public schools.
The Epoch Times: House Passes REINS Act to Curb Administrative State
The House passed a bill called the Regulations from the Executive In Need of Scrutiny (REINS) Act, which would require major regulations from agencies to be approved by Congress. The bill received 221 yeas and 210 nays, and includes multiple amendments from lawmakers. Democrats expressed concern over the measure potentially weakening the ability to have common-sense regulation for safety, while Republicans argue that existing tools to oversee executive-branch agencies, including the joint resolution of disapproval, are inadequate for exercising authority over the administrative state. #(insert appropriate hashtag here)

The Epoch Times: New Jersey Schools Report More Than 4,200 Percent Increase in Nonbinary Students in Four Years
The number of nonbinary students in New Jersey public schools has risen by 4218% in just four years, according to figures from the state's Department of Education. Parental rights activist Nik Stouffer believes this is due to a combination of COVID-19 restrictions and a new education program that normalizes sex changes. Stouffer argues that the pandemic had a severe impact on child development, and increased exposure to information promoting non-straight sexualities has led to more students identifying as nonbinary. Child development psychologist Leonard Sax expressed similar concerns, stating that children are socially and sexually malleable and need to be taught what is normal. The NJDOE did not reply to requests for comment.
The 4218% rise in nonbinary identification among New Jersey's public school students is mostly attributed to COVID-19 restrictions and an education program for normalizing sex changes. From just sixteen nonbinary students in 2019-20, the number rose sharply to 675 by 2022-23 and eight of the students were pre-kindergarten aged. According to parent activist Nik Stouffer, child development was negatively impacted by pandemic measures, and students could be influenced to identify as nonbinary if exposed to concepts that undermine traditional gender roles or standards. Development psychologist Leonard Sax commented on the dangers of problematic gender identity, stating that society must teach children what is normal, otherwise it threatens to increase the risk of anxiety and depression. The NJDOE declined to comment.
