The American Spectator: Thinking Out of the (Voting) Box
Thinking Out of the (Voting) Box
In a recent Twitter post, a county map of California displayed red solid counties, except for a few in the greater San Francisco Bay Area, indicating that voters favored Donald Trump in the 2020 election had there not been voter fraud. While this may come as a surprise to some, Democrats in California have virtually no incentive to reach out to non-progressives, and many people living in California, Washington, and Oregon have understood that geographical areas are not uniformly Democratic. New proposals to increase voter representation include a Final Five primary system combined with Ranked Choice Voting, where primary voters would choose the top five candidates to move onto the general election. This system would force candidates to speak to other voters to win second-ranking and has the potential to widen the range of candidates from a broader ideological spectrum, making it beneficial for voters whose voices are not typically heard.

Townhall: The Dangerous Trump Indictment
The Dangerous Trump Indictment
Former US President and Republican presidential nominee Donald Trump has been indicted for mishandling classified information and obstructing justice. This unprecedented move by President Joe Biden's Department of Justice sets a concerning precedent that the loser of future elections might find themselves retaliated against. The choice to indict Trump while not similarly prosecuting Hillary Clinton for her handling of classified information in 2016 appears to highlight a double standard in US law enforcement. Trump has already pledged to prosecute the Biden family should he be reelected, fueling concerns about a cycle of tit-for-tat in US politics.

SEAN HANNITY: The 'media mob' refuses to hear any perspective that doesn't validate its left-wing fantasies
Sean Hannity accuses the liberal media of having double standards and ignoring alleged bribery schemes involving Democrats while unfairly targeting Republicans. He calls out journalists for being partisans and not true journalists.

Townhall: There Is No 'Moving On' From Corruption
There Is No 'Moving On' From Corruption
Many Republican voters on social media want to "move on" from the controversies surrounding Donald Trump's presidency despite acknowledging his policies were better for the economy and viewing Joe Biden's administration as disastrous. Some attribute this reluctance to confront corruption in American politics, exemplified by Biden's indictment and arrest of Trump, his primary rival in the 2024 election, for mishandling classified documents. Meanwhile, evidence has emerged of Hunter and Joe Biden receiving bribes from Ukrainian gas company Burisma and the FBI covering it up, yet there has been no impeachment or indictment of Biden, Eric Holder, or Hillary Clinton for their respective scandals.

Biden Claims ‘They’re All Our Kids’ in Tweet Pushing LGBTQI+ Agenda
The Biden administration has released a video clip on social media referring to LGBTQ+ children as "all our kids" in a push to affirm their identities, partnering with families to ensure their protection and wellbeing during Pride Month. The tweet follows Republican-led legislation aimed at protecting children and women from gender ideology. Previously, President Biden, as well as Vice President Kamala Harris, have referred to all American children as "our kids," eliciting backlash from conservative figures who consider it a "creepy" sentiment and an assertion of control over children.

Russia Ships Oil to North Korea, Fueling Speculation of Pyongyang Arming Ukraine War
Russia has resumed its shipment of oil to North Korea after a three-year pause, sparking concerns that Moscow may have traded oil for weapons. North Korea has long been one of Russia’s closest international allies, and tensions continue to rise as it has faced accusations of selling weapons to be used in Ukraine's invasion and colonization. Following the Wuhan coronavirus pandemic, North Korea went into total lockdown, resulting in fuel and basic goods shortages, including medicine and food. The country claimed that it did not log a single case of coronavirus infection between January 2020 and April 2022, further fueling speculation that the Kim regime was falsifying statistics.

Townhall: China Should Pay a Price for Lying, Cheating, and Stealing
China Should Pay a Price for Lying, Cheating, and Stealing
China poses a serious threat to US economic and national security as it seeks to become a global superpower. The previous diplomatic framework of normalized relations and unfettered free trade doesn't work when dealing with China. The US must get tough and let the world know they will no longer allow China to cheat and enrich communist sycophants at the expense of national interests. A foreign pollution fee would force the CCP to pay a fair price to sell their products in the US, while cleaner American manufacturers could compete on a level playing field. This policy would help to protect national security and economic interests, while also benefiting working-class Americans.

The Epoch Times: Regional Banks Scramble to Unload Commercial Real Estate Loans, Fearing New Crisis
Regional Banks Scramble to Unload Commercial Real Estate Loans, Fearing New Crisis
The work-from-home trend has hit office landlords hard, and banks' commercial loan portfolios are feeling the pain as commercial real estate (CRE) loans are becoming increasingly vulnerable. Analysts predict that regional banks are in for even more grief this year, as $1.5 trillion of commercial property debt will be repayable in about 18 months, some of which may be impaired despite falling interest rates. Tech giant Google is subleasing 1.4 million square feet of vacant office space in its Silicon Valley home base to match the needs of its hybrid workforce, while office occupancy rates across the US remain below 50 percent. About 68 percent of CRE loans are held by regional banks, and $450 billion in CRE loans will mature in 2023. JP Morgan Chase estimates that 21 percent of CRE loans will default, costing banks about $38 billion in losses.

The commercial mortgage market is under pressure both due to the COVID-19 pandemic and interest rate hikes, with commercial mortgages coming due between April and December of this year unlikely to refinance given current interest rates and rental income. Approximately one-third of commercial mortgages coming due this year are projected to be unable to refinance. Commercial property values are also taking a hit, leading to the delinquency rate in commercial mortgage-backed securities (CMBS) inching upwards, with offices, which account for more than four percent of delinquencies, hit the hardest. To prevent losses, banks are attempting to sell off the loans in their commercial real estate (CRE) portfolios, often taking a loss in the process.

The Epoch Times: Pennsylvania Using Tons of Recycled Glass Nuggets to Rebuild Collapsed Interstate 95
Pennsylvania Using Tons of Recycled Glass Nuggets to Rebuild Collapsed Interstate 95
Thousands of tons of lightweight glass nuggets will be used to quickly rebuild a collapsed section of Interstate 95 in Philadelphia. Crews will work 24 hours a day until they can reopen the commercial artery. Instead of rebuilding the overpass, crews will use recycled glass to fill the collapsed area to avoid supply chain delays. Workers will fill the gap with recycled foam glass aggregate, bringing it up to surface level and paving it over so that three lanes of traffic can reopen each way.

Trucks hauling glass aggregate will have a state police escort, with the company supplying the glass, AeroAggregates of North America, diverting material from other projects. The cost of consumer goods in the area is likely to rise since truckers are now travelling longer routes resulting in higher fuel prices. Investigators are trying to determine why a truck hauling gasoline went out of control on an off-ramp and flipped on its side, causing the collapse of the northbound lanes of Interstate 95 and severely damaging the southbound lanes. The Biden administration is pledging its aid as the collapse delays traffic during the summer travel season and upends morning commutes, disrupting several businesses.

Disney has pushed back the release of "Avatar 3" from December 2024 to December 2025, with "Avatar 4" now planned for December 2029, and "Avatar 5" arriving in December 2031. Director James Cameron said he may not direct films 4 and 5. The "Avatar" films have made over $5.2bn at the box office. In other changes, Disney announced two "Star Wars" films for 2026, and cancelled the premiere of "Avengers: Kang Dynasty" over allegations of domestic violence against its star, Jonathan Majors. Other Marvel releases have also been delayed by a few months.

Cormac McCarthy, Lauded Author of 'The Road' and 'No Country for Old Men,' Dies at 89
Cormac McCarthy, Pulitzer Prize-winning novelist, died on Tuesday at his home in Santa Fe, New Mexico, due to natural causes. Known for his bleak and violent imaginative prose that often portrayed characters unable to escape their fates, McCarthy was honoured with such accolades as the National Book Award and the Pulitzer, and his work was made into movies, adapting his “terse, absurdist dialogue” straight from the novels. His novels were explorations of human power, the written word, and unlimited possibilities, from the Americas to Australia to space, and included titles such as “The Road,” “Blood Meridian,” and “All the Pretty Horses.” Although McCarthy remained reclusive and rarely talked to the press, his influence on the literary community will continue for generations to come.

WH COVID Coordinator: 'A Lot of Healthcare Facilities' Will Mandate Annual COVID Vaccines
Dr. Ashish Jha, outgoing White House COVID-19 Response Coordinator, predicts that many healthcare facilities will mandate the coronavirus vaccine on an annual basis. Jha believes that states, districts, and schools will make individual decisions about whether or not to require the vaccine, but he thinks that strong encouragement will be provided. The decision to require the vaccine will likely be made by healthcare facilities, rather than local districts.

Redfield: Fauci's Stance on COVID Origins Motivated by 'His Advocacy for Gain-of-Function Research'
Former CDC Director Dr. Robert Redfield finds the report on the origins of COVID-19 largely credible and believes Dr. Anthony Fauci's advocacy for gain-of-function research largely grounds his stance. Redfield suspects that there is "strong evidence" of people contracting COVID-19 in the lab in September and November of 2019. He also thinks there is a possibility of the virus originating from another lab in Wuhan aside from the Wuhan Institute of Virology.

Gates-Funded World Mosquito Program Engages in Gain-of-Function Research
Billionaire Bill Gates funds a large mosquito factory in Colombia that releases thousands of altered mosquitoes per week to prevent mosquito-borne diseases. The program uses the bacteria called Wolbachia to prevent the spread of viruses by blocking their capacity to grow in the mosquito. Similar programs in other countries, including the US, have raised concerns about the release of genetically modified mosquitoes having profound ecological, health, or socio-economic impacts.
