The Epoch Times: Home Secretary: Women Trafficked For Sex Work Could be Deported Under New Bill
Home Secretary: Women Trafficked For Sex Work Could be Deported Under New Bill
During a Home Affairs Committee, Home Secretary Suella Braverman was questioned about prostitution in her constituency and the fate of trafficked women under the small boats bill. She confirmed that trafficked women could be deported under measures to tackle illegal migration. Braverman was also challenged about the promise to tackle the backlog of asylum cases, insisting the “legacy” backlog predating June last year has fallen by around 17,000 claims. The home secretary also faced questions on what the Home Office was doing to find over 100 unaccompanied child asylum seekers who have disappeared from government-funded hotels since last year.

Biden Admin To Renew Deportation Exemption for More Than 300K Illegal Immigrants
The US will extend deportation relief and work permits through 2025 for over 300,000 immigrants from El Salvador, Honduras, Nicaragua, and Nepal, but will not expand the program. It maintains the Temporary Protected Status program, which allows foreign nationals to stay and work legally, to protect those who cannot return home due to extraordinary circumstances.

OBSESSED: CNN And MSNBC Spend 95% Of Tuesday On Trump
Former President Trump was arraigned on charges involving classified documents with CNN and MSNBC devoting 95.21% of non-commercial air time to this one issue. The two networks combined for 28 hours, 44 minutes, and 2 seconds, with MSNBC dedicating 93.62% of their air time, highlighting the networks' obsession with Trump.

American Thinker: Can Trump get a fair trial with his prosecutor a longtime Democrat donor?
Can Trump get a fair trial with his prosecutor a longtime Democrat donor?
Lead prosecutor Karen Gilbert, who is part of Special Counsel Jack E. Smith's attempt to convict former President Donald Trump of mishandling White House documents, is a past campaign donor to Barack Obama, Joe Biden, and the Democratic National Committee. This has raised questions about the prosecution's political motivations and whether it is about politics or the rule of law. Republican Representative Matt Gaetz has demanded a full roster of staff working for the special counsel to determine how these individuals were selected and whether there were comparable GOP donors on the roster.

The fact that political donors often appear in these special counsel operations against Trump suggests a higher level of political involvement than the average-joe Democrat. The employment of conflicted prosecutors raises concerns about the credibility of the prosecution and why this person was selected for the job at all. Even if they achieve a conviction, this practice undermines the credibility of the prosecution and shows a lack of concern regarding ethics.

US energy regulators spend $26M to find communities willing to temporarily store highly radioactive waste
Federal energy regulators are spending $26 million to find communities willing to accept a temporary federal site to store nuclear waste while a permanent repository is completed. Thirteen groups will receive $2 million each to explore the most equitable approach to choosing an interim site, including a dialogue with residents and local governments.

The aim of the study is to create a federal storage site independent of the two private sites proposed for southern New Mexico and Texas, which are the focus of political and legal battles. Opponents say a permanent repository must first exist or be in the works before an interim one can be built.

Fox News: Alan Dershowitz says Trump court proceedings must be televised: Americans 'have a right' to see it
Alan Dershowitz says Trump court proceedings must be televised: Americans 'have a right' to see it
Famed attorney Alan Dershowitz argued the Trump court appearance should have been televised for transparency to the American people as it tests the Constitution. He believes the public has a right to see Trump's face, the judge's face, and all the evidence. Trump pleaded not guilty to 37 federal felony charges related to the mishandling and retention of classified documents at his Mar-a-Lago estate and could face decades in prison if convicted on all charges.

Former President Trump claims his federal indictment is "election interference" by the Biden administration, and has slammed it as "the most heinous abuse of power in the history of our country". He pleaded not guilty to 37 federal felony charges and attacked special counsel Jack Smith calling him a "deranged lunatic" and President Biden for arresting and charging his "top political opponent." Trump believes he is undergoing "political persecution like something straight out of a fascist or communist nation."

Feds banned from flying non-US flags under new GOP bill after White House flies Pride flag
Sen. Roger Marshall introduced the One Flag for All Act to make it illegal to display any flag other than the American flag on federal buildings or properties. The bill is a response to the Biden administration's decision to fly the Pride Flag more prominently than the American flag over the weekend during a gay pride celebration at the White House. Limited exceptions are included, such as flags representing the nation of a visiting diplomat and flags representing the state of a member of Congress. Several political figures on social media supported Marshall's criticism of the White House decision. A related bill to restrict the kinds of flags allowed to fly on Department of Veterans Affairs properties also advanced.

Since When Is Donald Trump Not the Big Story?
ABC’s Jake Tapper and MSNBC’s Nicolle Wallace showed their inability to deal with Trump when covering his arraignment. Trump enjoyed lunch with his supporters at Versailles Cuban Restaurant in Miami and Wallace and Tapper couldn’t handle it, asking their control room to cut the video. Television is a visual medium, which Tapper and Wallace knew wouldn’t be won by them, with Trump having an edge in playing the medium.

The New American: Republicans Have No More Excuses. Biden Allegations Must be Pursued.
Republicans Have No More Excuses. Biden Allegations Must be Pursued.
President Trump has been indicted on 37 felony counts for allegedly refusing to hand over classified documents stored at his Mar-a-Lago residence. While the left has celebrated the indictment as a victory for "democracy," many on the right have dismissed it as political persecution. Republican Sen. J.D. Vance of Ohio has refused to support Biden's Justice Department nominees in response to Trump's indictment but says the Republican caucus needs to take more action. There are credible allegations that Biden, while he was vice president, received $5 million to serve the interests of Ukrainian firm Burisma Holdings. However, Republicans have been hesitant to investigate Biden for fear of scandalizing the public.

Chuck Todd upset over 'bizarre moment' of Hispanics greeting Trump in Miami: 'A real perversion'
Anchor Chuck Todd was shocked by Hispanic supporters greeting ex-President Trump at a Miami restaurant after pleading not guilty to 37 felony counts, calling it a "perversion." The scene of supporters and religious leaders cheering for Trump made it "surreal," with Todd comparing the scene to Central and South American corruption. Todd railed against MAGA Hispanics who rallied around Trump and the "exile community" endorsing his indictment, calling it a "real perversion."

Jury: Starbucks must pay white woman $25M for racially motivated firing
A New Jersey jury awarded a white female Starbucks executive who had been fired, $25m in punitive damages citing racial discrimination. Shannon Phillips was fired over the alleged mistreatment of two black men at a Philadelphia Starbucks, even though the local store manager, who was black, authorised the actions that led to the men being arrested. Phillips argued that Starbucks used employees as racial scapegoats to satisfy media and activist demands. This case reveals that a racial pendulum is swinging too far to the left.

Author Post: INDUSTRIAL REVOLUTION “HANGOVERS” PART II: COMMAND-AND-CONTROL MANAGEMENT
The Greatest Generation, defined as those born from 1901 to 1927, brought the command-and-control style of military management to the workplace after WW2. This rigid, top-down approach remained popular in corporations for decades. However, in today's world, this centralized decision-making process can hinder productivity. Decentralizing decision-making can empower employees and enable customer-facing roles to make more agile decisions. Companies need to consider moving decision-making closer to where it should be made - at the worker level.

North Korean Hackers Suspected In $100M Crypto Heist That Could Fund Nuclear Program
North Korea's Lazarus Group, believed to have stolen over $2bn in cryptoassets, is suspected of responsibility for a $100m+ cryptocurrency heist on Estonia-based crypto exchange Atomic Wallet. The heist affected 5,500 wallets, according to crypto analysis firm Elliptical. Lazarus is believed to have primarily targeted South Korean entities for espionage purposes but has also targeted cryptocurrency exchanges. Last year, it allegedly stole $100m of virtual funds in the Horizon Bridge crypto heist. Analysts suggest that some of the stolen money could now go to North Korea's nuclear and ballistic weapons programs.

The Epoch Times: Cuba’s CCP Spy Base
Cuba’s CCP Spy Base
China is suspected of building a military spy base in Cuba. It will allow the People’s Liberation Army (PLA) to monitor American communications and military and maritime operations, potentially violating the Monroe Doctrine. The accusations have been refuted by Cuba and the Chinese Ministry of Foreign Affairs, but relations between China, the United States, and Cuba have been deteriorating for several years. The CCP's incursions in Latin America have been described by the U.S. Southern Command as a “relentless march” and an attempt to displace the United States. U.S. lawmakers have urged the Biden administration to take action against the CCP's expansion into the Americas.

North Carolina Republicans send bill banning green investments to Democratic Gov. Roy Cooper
North Carolina has passed a law banning state agencies from using environmental, social and governance standards for investments, contracts, or hiring and firing employees. The move is part of a Republican campaign against big businesses that promote sustainability and diversity, with at least two other states passing similar legislation. Democrats note that the law is not clear on what criteria are prohibited and could be detrimental to businesses by discouraging them from making their own decisions. Governor Roy Cooper has yet to decide whether he will veto the bill.

Here’s How Stocks Performed After The Fed Stopped Hiking Rates In The Past
The S&P 500 has rallied to a 14-month high, with the index potentially surging even more should the Federal Reserve stop raising interest rates. The S&P 500 has historically gained 16.8% on average in the year following conclusions to Fed tightening cycles. Even if the Fed reverses course, the S&P has gained 18.9% on average in the 12-month period following the first pause in four previous tightening cycles. However, a Fed pause may awaken the bear as the S&P trades at a 25 price-to-earnings ratio, a valuation metric far too rich for many experts’ tastes.

Biden Brags That He's Destroying Economy At Slightly Slower Rate Than Before
President Biden claims the U.S. economy is growing despite inflation caused by his predecessor, COVID-19, extreme Republicans, and cis-gendered Republican bigots. He announced a new act to reduce inflation that would increase the national debt. Despite this, one CNN reporter praised his relatable personality. Inflation rose 15% after Biden announced mortgage forgiveness for one-legged trans BIPOCs making less than $200,000 a year.

The UK inflation rate dropped for the first time in eight months, but prices of basic essentials remain high.

Let the Beatles Be
Paul McCartney and Ringo Starr have released a new Beatles record which features AI-assisted vocals from late Beatle John Lennon. The team digitized a demo tape from Lennon recorded in 1978 and used artificial intelligence to improve parts that the producers wanted. However, some say that the process violates the core of what the Beatles were, with the band's records arranged, recorded, and mixed by the whole band rather than being worked on separately by individual members.

The Economist: How much is a human head?
How much is a human head?
The international trade of dead human bodies for medical dissection is on the rise, with a surprisingly lively demand for real human remains instead of anatomical simulations or computer models. The trade is important for doctors to practice on real humans before operating on live patients, but the supply of bodies cannot always meet the demand. While some countries, like Britain, only allow first-person consent for body donation, the United States permits second-person consent, which allows someone (or the state) to donate a deceased person's body on their behalf. This has led to a net export of body parts from the US, with some companies charging high fees for the procurement, handling, and shipping of these remains.

Drug Price Legislation Inexplicably Exempts Important Market Forces
Congress is currently considering limiting the power of pharmacy benefit managers (PBMs), which negotiate lower drug costs for governments, insurers, unions, and large employers. While some argue that PBMs are simply "middlemen" who add little value, others believe that PBMs effectively serve as a counterweight to pharmaceutical company monopolies. However, Congress has failed to consider the impact of pharmacy services administrative organizations and pharmaceutical wholesalers on the market. The current legislation being considered will likely be the only chance to address drug prices before the next election, so it is important for Congress to consider all players in the drug supply chain and reduce costs for patients.

Prosecutors have accused Hannah Gutierrez-Reed, who was the weapons supervisor on the set of "Rust," the film that Alec Baldwin was filming when he fatally shot the cinematographer, of being hungover after drinking and smoking marijuana on set. They also accused her of reckless conduct and said her charge of involuntary manslaughter should move forward. The defense had filed a motion to dismiss the charge, and Gutierrez-Reed's lawyer has said the prosecution has "abandoned the idea of doing justice." A new preliminary hearing is scheduled for August.

Blue Cat vs Channel Cat: The Difference Between America's Most Common Catfish
Blue cats vs channel cats: two of the most common catfish species in the country. Channel cats are easy to catch and great for beginners, while blue cats can reach true goliath status and require different baits and tackle. Juvenile channel cats have small black spots while young blues are solid silver/gray with no spotting. Blue cats can decimate native populations of white catfish and channel catfish in some regions. Juvenile blues weighing less than ten pounds feed and behave very much like channel cats, but trophy blue cat hunters need to be better prepared with stout gear and chunk baits.

Despite the pullback in June, Nvidia shares have soared approximately 156% for the year, largely due to its leverage to artificial intelligence (AI), which has gained momentum with the popularity of OpenAI's ChatGPT. In contrast, C3.ai fell more than 15% at one point in the evening of April 5 in the US markets on the news of a short C3.ai report and the brewing of a regulatory storm on the AI industry in several countries, causing a collapse of AI stocks in the US stock market.

Artificial intelligence (AI) has advanced significantly, but it has also raised concerns due to its ability to create and spread fabricated information, or "hallucination." AI-generated false statements and quotes can mislead users into believing they are factual, causing public mistrust, disinformation, and fraudulent news stories. The issue extends to creating entirely fabricated articles, research papers, and legal cases, posing potential risks to industries such as journalism, law, and medicine. OpenAI has taken proactive steps to refine its models and explore solutions, but it's up to society to balance the potential rewards of AI while navigating the challenges with vigilance and discernment.

Jack Carr's take on terrorism in the skies on June 14, 1985: Crew was 'nothing short of heroic'
In June 1985, TWA Flight 847 was hijacked by terrorists who demanded the release of 700 Shiite militants from custody in Israel. Jewish passengers were separated from the others and the terrorists beat and killed U.S. Navy diver Robert Stethem before finally releasing all hostages after 17 days of negotiations and concessions. One of the terrorists, Mohammed Ali Hamadi, was later arrested and sentenced to life in prison for Stethem's murder, but was paroled in 2005. Intelligence sources indicate that he was killed in a drone strike in Pakistan in 2010, although his death has not been confirmed.

Despite the heroic efforts of the pilot and flight service manager during the crisis in the air, Robert Stethem was the only person killed in the hijacking of TWA Flight 847. After the remaining hostages were released, they were driven to Syria and then flown to West Germany, ultimately returning home to a welcome from President and Mrs. Reagan. While the Boeing 727 returned to service, Stethem's life was cut short at the age of 23, leaving his hopes of making a career in the Navy unrealized.
