Fox News: Trump slams 'sham' federal indictment as 'election inference,' the 'most heinous abuse of power' in US history
Trump slams 'sham' federal indictment as 'election inference,' the 'most heinous abuse of power' in US history
Former President Trump pleads not guilty in federal court in Miami to 37 federal felony counts stemming from Special Counsel Jack Smith's investigation into his alleged improper retention of classified records at Mar-a-Lago. Trump claims that the federal indictment is "election interference" by the Biden administration and slammed it as a "the most heinous abuse of power in the history of our country." He also defended himself, saying it is the Presidential Records Act that applies to his case.

Trump said President Biden will "forever be remembered as not only the most corrupt president in the history of our country, but perhaps more importantly, the president, together with the band of his closest thugs, misfits and Marxists trying to destroy American democracy, channeling real anger and charging the President of the United States under the Espionage Act of 1917." He further pointed out that Hillary Clinton broke the law and was not indicted, while he did everything right and got indicted.

House Freedom Caucus Member Ken Buck On Trump Indictment: I Won’t Support His Campaign If He’s Convicted
Republican Congressman Ken Buck says he will not support Donald Trump's presidential campaign if the former president is convicted of the charges against him in the federal indictment. Trump pleaded not guilty to 37 felony counts including retaining national defence information, obstructing the investigation, and allegedly lying to investigators. Buck, a former federal prosecutor, called the allegations “very serious” and expressed concern regarding equal treatment under the law. He noted that Trump will be judged by the standard he himself set when he called Hillary Clinton “unfit for the White House” due to her handling of classified information.

GOP Senator Strikes Back After Trump Indictment: Garland’s DOJ Is Going to Be Brought to a Halt

Vance's plan would temporarily deny new federal prosecutors at the DOJ, although he's making an exception for nominees of the U.S. Marshal's Service. Republican Representative Marjorie Taylor Greene backed Vance's plan.

Press secretary Karine Jean-Pierre avoids answering if the U.S. Flag Code was violated when a Pride flag was displayed at the recent Pride Month event at the White House. Jean-Pierre cites the importance of celebrating love and family and refused to be distracted by the protocol controversy. The display caused significant backlash from conservatives, who claimed the display disrespected the American flag and every American service member buried under its colors.

Actress Cheryl Hines won't be at every RFK Jr. political event, says she has her 'own career'
Cheryl Hines spoke up about her husband's presidential campaign, but made clear her focus was on her own career. Robert F. Kennedy Jr. sparked controversy for his vaccine stance and for comparing the U.S. government's push for vaccinations during the pandemic to Nazi Germany. Kennedy later apologized for his comments and suggested to Hines that they announce a fake separation to protect her from any backlash. Hines declined the idea, but stated that she was "upset" with her husband and felt that he sometimes misspoke and was misrepresented. Hines explained that she sees both sides of the vaccine debate and that her own focus is on school safety and "bodily autonomy".

Strategist: I hope more Democrats show up in less safe interview places after Newsom-Hannity interview
Jessica Tarlov praised California Gov. Gavin Newsom for sitting down for an interview with Sean Hannity and called on other Democrats to go on "less safe interview spaces" to get their message heard by voters. She believes everyone should go everywhere when it comes to political interviews, and Hannity was fair to Newsom. Fox News has persuadable voters paying attention, and Democrats should make their case respectfully. Tarlov thought Newsom did a wonderful job in the interview.

Sen. J.D. Vance (R-Ohio) vowed to block all of President Biden’s judicial nominees until Attorney General Merrick Garland stops using the DOJ to harass political opponents. Trump pleaded not guilty to all charges and is expected to speak at his residence in Bedminster.

National Review: GOP Rebels Relent for Now, Allowing House Business to Resume
GOP Rebels Relent for Now, Allowing House Business to Resume
House Republicans, mainly from the Freedom Caucus, ended their weeklong blockade of House proceedings after an agreement with GOP leadership. Members voted to approve gas-stove bills they had previously blocked, defying longstanding House tradition where the majority party votes in a unified block. The rebels are willing to continue breaking traditions if they don’t get concessions, planning to grind the House back to a halt if necessary. Appropriations could be a future point of contention, with the rebels concerned about the economic security of the country and warning that "there’s a lot more fights down the road."

FBI Admits Hiding Mention of Biden Recordings in Document Shown to Congress
During a Senate Judiciary Committee hearing, the FBI admitted that they redacted audio recordings of Joe and Hunter Biden in an FBI informant's document. The transcript contained references to 17 alleged audio recordings, but when it was made available to the House Oversight Committee, the references were deleted. The FBI claimed that it was redacted to protect the informant's source. Sen. Blackburn accused the FBI of politicizing and weaponizing an agency of the federal government against the American people who aren't elites.

PJ Media: Starbucks Union Claims Corporate Won't Let Stores Decorate for Pride Month
Starbucks Union Claims Corporate Won't Let Stores Decorate for Pride Month
Starbucks Workers United, a union of Starbucks employees, has complained that corporate has prohibited “dozens” of stores from decorating for Pride month this year. However, Starbucks has denied placing any restrictions on Pride décor, adding that the issue is largely left up to managers and employees. Meanwhile, the trans community, in particular, is becoming increasingly violent on its own in response to the actions of those who criticize them. It has been theorized that the transgender movement attracts dysfunctional people and provides an additional home for those who favor Marxist violence. The driving factor in that community is narcissism, and the need for attention is at the heart of the movement. The biggest danger now is that it might become passé, thereby denying the people in the community the attention they crave.

Few spontaneous displays of patriotism were seen during the holiday, despite festivities. Putin also said people in the contested Donbass region of Ukraine should be considered patriotic Russians.

The Epoch Times: Process Crimes Pose Key Legal Jeopardy in Trump's Classified Documents Case: Former Federal Prosecutor
Process Crimes Pose Key Legal Jeopardy in Trump's Classified Documents Case: Former Federal Prosecutor
Former Assistant US Attorney John O'Connor argues that despite President Donald Trump's retention of classified documents after his presidency being criminal, it's not illegal for ex-presidents to possess such documents. The way Trump responded to requests to return those documents could pose a real legal threat. Special counsel Jack Smith charged Trump in a 37-count indictment last week, including allegations that he kept documents containing classified information. O'Connor argued that the first 31 counts in the special counsel indictment are flimsy, but counts 32 through 37 are very strongly shown, and, frankly, devastating to the ex-president.

While finding the first 31 counts flimsy, O'Connor predicted that members of a jury will vote to convict on at least some of the remaining charges. The charges against Trump include one count of withholding a document or record, “corruptly” concealing a document or record, concealing a document in a federal investigation, conspiring to obstruct justice, scheming to conceal materials, and making false statements. Federal prosecutors allege that Trump and his co-defendant Waltine Nauta conspired to conceal documents from Trump’s lawyers and federal investigators seeking their return. O'Connor argues that Trump could have legally challenged the subpoena requesting that he turn over certain documents, but he can’t submit or cause to be submitted a perjurious statement.

KJP claims it is 'dangerous' to question safety of female athletes competing against males in testy exchange
White House press secretary Karine Jean-Pierre defended transgender athletes in women's sports, accusing a reporter of characterizing them as "dangerous." The issue has raised safety concerns and unfair biological advantages, with female athletes reporting injuries after competing against biological males. Biden administration proposed new Title IX regulations on transgender people in schools, but the "Save Women's Sports" bill passed in the House without any Democratic votes. Despite this, a new Gallup poll shows that a majority of Americans believe transgender athletes should play against those with the same biological gender.

Fox News: US Open's 15th hole to provide interesting quirk for golf's third major
US Open's 15th hole to provide interesting quirk for golf's third major
The 15th hole at the U.S. Open will be the shortest in living memory, adjusted to a minimum of 78 yards. The hole at Los Angeles Country Club is officially listed at 124 yards, but as one of the most precise challenges, it presents difficulties for even the best golfers. The US Golf Association team has details on the longest holes in the Championship's history but has focused less attention on the shortest holes played. Large teeing areas on most holes and LACC’s deep greens offer the team the ability to adjust how each hole plays and so they will keep an eye on ground and weather conditions, but insist that good shots and bad shots should not end up in the same place.

Forbes: Claims Made By ‘UFO Whistleblower’ David Grusch Are Pure Science Fiction
Claims Made By ‘UFO Whistleblower’ David Grusch Are Pure Science Fiction
Former military intelligence official David Grusch claims that the U.S. government is concealing the existence of alien spacecraft constructed by a "non-human intelligence," suggesting their bodies have crash-landed on Earth and others may come from another dimension. Grusch admits he has no direct evidence to back this up, but that his sources' reports were "very interesting." Critics cite the claims as science-fiction, as they assume crashes occur frequently and that humankind is advanced enough to reverse-engineer alien technology. UFO skeptics highlight the lack of evidence and suggestive nature of Grusch's claims, which prompt little proof of advanced extra-terrestrial or inter-dimensional life.

The Epoch Times: Tenants Facing Mass Eviction Sue Property Owner in West Los Angeles
Tenants Facing Mass Eviction Sue Property Owner in West Los Angeles
Tenants at the Barrington Plaza apartment complex in West Los Angeles have filed a lawsuit against Douglas Emmett Inc., alleging that the company is not following the rules of the Ellis Act, the state law allowing landlords to evict tenants if they take their units off the rental market. The tenants are being evicted from the 712-unit, rent-controlled complex, which has been the site of two deadly fires, so that the buildings can be renovated with fire sprinklers and other safety upgrades. The plaintiff's attorneys allege that the Ellis Act has been routinely used by developers to circumvent local eviction protections to convert the property into luxury hotels and condominiums.
