National Review: The Corner: Has President Trump Asked for a Pardon?
Vivek Ramaswamy is running for the Republican presidential nomination, but is acting as a proxy for Donald Trump's nomination bid. He has vowed to pardon Trump if elected, and challenged other GOP candidates to join him. Some see this as a curveball for competitors, but the real point of the Trump prosecutions is to prevent him from winning in 2024. When asked, other candidates should respond that Trump has not asked for a pardon and they presume him innocent until proven guilty.
A pardon should be sought by the petitioner, not unbidden. Asking for a pardon is commonly understood as an admission of guilt. If Trump ever sought a pardon, other Republican candidates would give it swift and careful attention. Under the last two Democratic administrations, a two-tiered justice system has been in place, leading Americans to question whether they will receive the equal justice under the law that the Constitution requires. President Ford set a wise example by pardoning Nixon after his resignation and expression of regret to the nation. Ramaswamy's challenge to pardon Trump is not the focus of the Republican presidential campaign.

He believes that it was inevitable for Trump to be prosecuted and calls out those who turned on Trump when he lost power.
The American Mind: The Unmakeable Joke
Comedians often push boundaries to make jokes, but on the topic of abortion, they only go so far, always endorsing it in the end. Even those who flirt with pro-life sentiments still feel the need to emphasize their pro-choice views. However, some conservatives have taken a crack at pro-life stand-up comedy, with lines such as “In America, we [abort] because a baby 'would be a burden on Karen from accounting.'” For the author, the ideal pro-life comedy bit would be more aggressive, calling out the selfish and absurd bodily autonomy argument.
Breitbart: Trump: 'Very Confident' Melania Trump 'Doesn't Care that Much' About Indictments
Former President Donald Trump says that his wife, Melania, is not interested in the criminal charges against him or his potential 2024 presidential campaign. Trump was officially charged in federal court on Tuesday with counts related to obstruction of justice and concealing documents in a federal investigation. Despite the charges against him, Trump has continued with his presidential campaign.

Red State: Biden State Dept Demands $76 Million to Push Diversity and Inclusion, Citing 'National Security'
The Biden State Department is requesting $76 million to fund diversity, equity, and inclusion initiatives. The department's chief officer for diversity and inclusion argued that this is a priority for national security, allowing for new hires, monitoring staff demographics, and addressing complaints of discrimination. Despite opposition, DEIA initiatives remain central to the Biden administration's political agenda.

The café is a traditional gathering place for events of political significance in the Cuban exile community and serves as a local hub for major protests and debates among locals. National Review: The Corner: Let Google Be Google
Google faces antitrust complaints from the EU for its ad-tech business. The company's advertising business includes tools publishers use to offer ad space, tools advertisers use to purchase this space, and an exchange to match the two. The DOJ has also sued Google for monopolizing digital advertising technologies. The complaint alleges that Google abuses its market share to lock publishers into its services while purchasing rival firms and making entrance unprofitable. All those who believe in limited government, free markets, and individual rights should be alarmed by a governmental agency claiming the prerogative to specify appropriate prices.

The Imaginative Conservative: Tolkien's Traditionalism: Conveniently Forgotten?
J.R.R. Tolkien's beloved fantasy world of Middle Earth is based on tradition, monarchy, and elevated languages. Though a devotee of the Catholic Church, he was troubled by the changes and infidelities of churchmen and the theological atmosphere of the 1960s. Tolkien combines humility with criticism, acknowledging that changes and infidelities of churchmen and modern ideas could provide an excuse for "scandal" and unbelief. He recognized the destructive tendencies of liturgical antiquarianism, such as the disregard for Eucharistic reverence and a correct theology of sacrifice which followed on the heels of the Novus Ordo.

The Federalist Papers: Home Depot CEO Sounds the Alarm on Retail Theft and Potential Store Closures
Home Depot CEO, Ted Decker, has stated that the surge in theft plaguing its stores can be attributed, in part, to the lack of law enforcement action under Democrat officials in major cities and that shrinkage due to theft has exerted pressure on the company's gross margin. The retail industry, epitomized by Home Depot’s struggle, is battling a crisis fueled by lax law enforcement from left-wing prosecutors and a growing disregard for property rights.
Decker revealed that Home Depot is actively collaborating with state and local officials nationwide to raise awareness about this theft wave and expressed his support for a new law that would mandate the vetting of individuals selling items on online consumer marketplaces, thereby curbing the resale of stolen goods. The enormity of the issue is undeniable, with shrinkage accounting for a staggering $100 billion in losses for US retailers. The consequences are far-reaching, not only threatening the financial well-being of businesses but also endangering the safety of hardworking employees and loyal customers. ( )
