The Epoch Times: O'Toole Warns of 'Performance Politics,' Social Media Perils in Final Commons Address
O'Toole Warns of 'Performance Politics,' Social Media Perils in Final Commons Address
Erin O'Toole warns Canadian MP's against chasing algorithms and performance politics on social media, saying it could be the start of the country's decline. He calls on colleagues to focus on the country's national purpose instead of fuelling polarization. Social media is starting to tear the country's democracy down, and if Parliament is not careful, there will be a generation of voters who have not heard a viewpoint different than their own.

Townhall: On the Argument That We Shouldn't Be Aiding a Corrupt Country
On the Argument That We Shouldn't Be Aiding a Corrupt Country
Conservative author and radio host Dennis Prager supports aid to Ukraine in their fight against Russian aggression and argues that the argument that Ukraine is corrupt holds no merit. Prager points out that America aided South Korea, which was not yet a fully functioning democracy at the time of aid, and aided Stalin's Soviet Union despite their atrocities against Soviet citizens. He notes that Ukraine is no more corrupt than America, which has been corrupted by left-wing influence. Prager ultimately believes that corruption should not be a reason to refuse aid to Ukraine, especially when they are considerably freer than the attacking nation.

Prager recognizes valid points made by opponents of aid to Ukraine, such as pursuing peace as vigorously as war and seeking compromises. However, he argues that the idea that Ukraine is corrupt does not hold water, as America has aided countries that were not fully functioning democracies in the past and aided Stalin's Soviet Union despite their atrocities. He also points out that Ukraine is no more corrupt than America, which he believes has been corrupted by left-wing influence. Prager ultimately believes that one should not refuse aid to an attacked nation based on the amount of corruption in that nation, particularly when that nation is freer than the attacking nation.

The Epoch Times: Nuclear Is the Energy Policy Australia Needs for the Productivity Puzzle
Nuclear Is the Energy Policy Australia Needs for the Productivity Puzzle
The Australian Treasurer Jim Chalmers faces a tough task as the country's productivity hits a new low, while GDP per capita falls along with a rise in interest rates, wages, and housing costs. Although Chalmers is not solely responsible, he and his team will need to present a new plan to Prime Minister Anthony Albanese to turn the situation around. One area that could significantly impact productivity ultimately is the country's energy policy, with nuclear power being a viable option that can reduce electricity prices and minimize resource-intensive renewables, among other benefits.

Townhall: Democrats Abandon the Blue-Collar Worker in Favor of 'Social Justice' Warriors
Democrats Abandon the Blue-Collar Worker in Favor of 'Social Justice' Warriors
The Cheswick Generating Station, a coal-fired power plant, was recently retired due to environmental group pressure, unfavorable economic conditions, and evolvement of market rules, making it impossible to compete with subsidized solar and wind energy. The demolition of the facility caused a loss of jobs and economic impact in the community, with 290 coal power plants having permanently closed between 2010 and May 2019 in the U.S. due to similar reasons. Meanwhile, China continues to build more coal-fired power plants despite pledging to go carbon-neutral.

'Worst Wildfire Season:' Quebec Makes Progress as Wind Fuels Flames out West
Canada is fighting the worst wildfire season of the 21st century, with 431 wildfires burning on Monday and over 200 listed as out of control. Nearly 32,000 people remained out of their homes because of smoke and raging wildfires. To tackle the situation, the country’s federal government has offered free travel documents and visa extensions to people affected by the fires nationwide. Chile, Costa Rica, Spain and Portugal have sent hundreds more firefighters to Canada to assist the ongoing efforts. Alberta’s Public Safety and Emergency Services Minister, Mike Ellis, warned of a long and challenging summer ahead, as it is only two-and-a-half months into a seven-month period stretching out until the end of October.

The Epoch Times: Body Recovered From Rubble of Philadelphia I-95 Highway Collapse
Body Recovered From Rubble of Philadelphia I-95 Highway Collapse
A body was recovered from debris of a collapsed overpass on I-95 in Philadelphia following a gasoline tanker catching fire on Sunday that officials suspect caused the collapse. The driver of the truck remained unaccounted for in the aftermath of the incident. The highway was shut down in both directions and the rebuilding of the damaged section is expected to take several months.

Traffic reporters say local drivers had heeded warnings to take public transportation or stay at home, however, Pennsylvania Governor Josh Shapiro issued a disaster declaration, freeing up federal funds to help rebuild the heavily utilized section of the highway. Officials report the use of emergency relief funding will also be employed but was unable to provide a specific amount.
