The Epoch Times: DHS Sought to Assign 'Risk Scores' to Social Media Users, Documents Show
The Department of Homeland Security (DHS) sought to create a "risk score" for social media users as part of an initiative called "Night Fury" to identify potential criminal or terrorist activity. Data included posts, photos, and videos on platforms such as Facebook and Twitter. The DHS Science and Technology Directorate (S&T) reached out to the University of Alabama at Birmingham about the project designed to “develop automated processes to identify potential pro-terrorist social media accounts." The OIG ruled that the DHS S&T had failed to maintain proper oversight of research projects with contractors, including "Night Fury," and that there were "privacy safeguards that should have been in place" but were not.
The discovery of the Night Fury initiative comes amid continuing concerns about the ways that federal law enforcement agencies have allegedly abused their authority, including misusing their power and harvesting data without a warrant. The FBI has faced allegations of misusing their authority, with a report released in 2021 finding that they had used one of its surveillance authorities to data harvest more than 3.3 million Americans without a warrant. Since then, the FBI has reportedly reduced FISA violations by 90 percent but this still leaves hundreds of thousands of illegal queries against American citizens. The FBI recently reiterated its promise to stop this data harvesting. A recent whistleblower report claimed that the FBI had become “enveloped in politicization” and had engaged in “serious abuses” of its authority.
The Epoch Times: Federal Agency Extends Stay for More Than 300,000 Immigrants
The Department of Homeland Security will offer temporary legal status to over 300,000 immigrants from El Salvador, Honduras, Nepal, and Nicaragua who cannot return due to environmental disasters and armed conflict. TPS designations have been in place for decades, but they do not lead to permanent U.S. status. However, the Biden administration has added TPS-related protections to a total of 16 countries since 2022, standing in contrast to the Trump administration's move to end the rule.

The New American: More Impeachment Articles Filed Against Biden and Harris - The New American
Two articles of impeachment have been filed against Joe Biden and Kamala Harris for the weaponization of the government against Americans, invasion of foreign nationals and criminals on the northern and southern borders, the slow investigation into Biden's corruption, and giving aid to America's enemies. Representative Andy Ogles filed the articles, stating that Biden violated his sworn oath to protect and defend the US Constitution. Ogles added that Vice President Kamala Harris had demonstrated incompetence time and time again.
Ogles and Representative Marjorie Taylor Greene filed seven of the eleven articles of impeachment against Biden and Harris, citing Biden's failure to comply with congressional requests and the family's corruption. The second article detailed Harris' incompetence in executing her duties and responsibilities while exhibiting indifference to American's suffering as a result of the southern border crisis. Both articles conclude that Biden and Harris "warrant impeachment and trial, removal from office, and disqualification to hold and enjoy any office of honor, trust, or profit under the United States."
The Blaze: How prepared are YOU for a possible supply chain BREAKDOWN?
Glenn Beck advises his audience to prepare for potential supply chain breakdown under the Biden administration by having emergency funds, paper maps, and enough food and supplies stockpiled. A recent poll taken by Beck indicates that 69.8% of his listeners have some investment in precious metal, emergency funds, and supplies, while 15% fall under the Mad Max category of being able to survive a nuclear apocalypse.
Breitbart: Woman Who Lied to Get 'Abortion by Post' Pills to Kill Unborn Child Jailed
Carla Foster, a mother of two, has been jailed for 28 months, with up to 14 months to be served behind bars, for falsely obtaining pills for a "very late abortion". She went ahead with the illegal abortion despite knowing that she was 30 weeks pregnant, more than six weeks beyond the legal limit for terminations. Post-mortem examination found that the baby was between 32 and 34 weeks old. UK law prohibits abortion after 24 weeks. Because of the "out-of-date" law criminalizing late-term abortions, Foster's case has reignited calls for reform.
The Right Scoop: BREAKING: Gov DeSantis has a radical plan to END weaponization of DOJ, FBI once and for all
Governor DeSantis of Florida has a plan to overhaul the Department of Justice and the FBI to end the perceived weaponization of the justice system. The plan includes firing federal personnel, reorganizing agencies, moving some of them out of Washington, withholding clearances if appropriate, and policing local prosecutors. The goal is to restore the DOJ and FBI to their pre-9/11 mission, and the effort is ongoing with consultation from experts and members of Congress.
Breitbart: Paul Ryan on Anti-Woke Legislation: 'I’m Not a Culture War Guy,' It's Polarizing
Former House Speaker Paul Ryan thinks that passing "anti-woke" legislation is too polarizing and divisive for the Republican party. While he personally sides with the anti-woke crowd on some issues, he believes that the party needs to focus on tackling big policy challenges, such as the debt crisis and China, in order to ensure a great future for the country. Ryan is not a fan of cultural war politics and believes in inclusive, aspirational politics that solve problems.
The Federalist Papers: ‘WOW’: Judge Enforces Electronics Ban for Trump Arraignment at Last Minute
Former President Donald Trump will be arraigned in a federal courtroom in Miami on a 37-count indictment for mishandling classified information. Ahead of the hearing, Judge Cecilia M. Altonaga has banned the use of cellphones and electronic devices inside the courthouse. Magistrate Judge Jonathan Goodman has passed a ruling prohibiting audio recordings, photographs, or videos of the hearing and to have the audiotranscripts available on Tuesday.
Breitbart: Paul Ryan: Trump Is 'Not Electable' After Classified Document Indictment
Former House Speaker Paul Ryan believes that indicting former President Donald Trump on federal charges would make him unelectable in 2024. Ryan, who has been a never Trumper for some time, claims that nominating Trump will result in losing the presidential election. Ryan also pointed out that Trump lost in 2016, and the Republicans lost the House in 2018, the presidency in 2020, and the Senate, which they might have won in 2022, if not for Trump's involvement. He added that the exhaustion and Trump's baggage would make it easier to argue he is not electable.
Flag And Cross: Ben Affleck, Matt Damon Decry Trump Campaign's Unsanctioned Use Of 'Air' Monologue
Ben Affleck and Matt Damon's production company Artists Equity condemned the unauthorized use of a monologue from their recent film "Air” in a newly-shared campaign video by former President Donald Trump. The Trump campaign clip is entirely based on a critical monologue from the film. The production company said they did not approve of the use of movie music in the Trump video ad and do not endorse or approve any footage or audio from "Air" being re-purposed by the Trump campaign as a political advertisement or for any other use.

American Thinker: Understanding the import of Biden’s White House ‘pride’ bash

Fox News: Minibus slams into parked pickup truck killing 15 in Southern Egypt
A speeding minibus crashed into a parked pickup truck in Southern Egypt killing 15 people. The accident occurred due to excessive speed while an investigation is underway to find out the causes and circumstances behind the accident.
In Egypt, fatal traffic accidents are recurrent as they often result from poorly maintained roads, poor enforcement of traffic laws, and reckless driving which kills thousands of people every year. The country has seen many fatal traffic accidents, including one in May when a passenger bus collided with a slow-moving truck on a highway in southwestern Egypt, killing at least 17 people.
National Review: San Diego City Council to Vote on Camping Ban as Homeless Complaints Surge
San Diego may ban homeless camps on city property and in several other locations, even if shelter beds are available, to address public safety concerns. The proposed ban aims to get people in need into shelters where they can access services, and does not intend to run afoul of Martin v. City of Boise ruling that concluded prosecuting people for sleeping or camping on public property when they have no home or shelter to go to is a violation of the Eighth Amendment. San Diego has about 1,800 shelter beds, according to the city report, and is opening two “safe sleeping sites” to accommodate about 130 and 400 camps. Homeless counts rose by 32% to 3,300 people living outdoors in San Diego, according to a regional task force count. The city’s environmental department collected about 3,000 pounds of debris from homeless camps each month last year, and there were outbreaks of Hepatitis A, Tuberculosis and Shigellosis, as well as drug overdoses and attacks on park employees by homeless people. Homeless advocates have protested the proposal, calling for immediate action to provide housing.

The Epoch Times: Gavin Newsom Tells Sean Hannity That California Has 'Not Made Progress' on Homeless Crisis
California Gov. Gavin Newsom admitted during a Fox News interview that his efforts to address the state's homelessness crisis have not succeeded. Newsom cited high housing costs, problematic regulations, and local opposition to new construction as reasons for the lack of progress. California is home to 50% of the nation's unsheltered homeless population, according to the U.S. Department of Housing and Urban Development. A coalition of 13 mayors from the state's largest cities has called on Newsom to allocate $2 billion annually to address the homelessness crisis.
Daily Wire: Nike Immune From Conservative Backlash Despite Long History Of Woke Advocacy
Nike has faced no significant backlash despite promoting far-left beliefs on gender and race, including a deal with Dylan Mulvaney, a transgender influencer. While Bud Light and Target have experienced significant losses following promotion of transgenderism, Nike's stock market fluctuations have not been tied to progressive stances. The corporation plans to celebrate Pride Month by hosting a panel discussion with a surgeon who performs sex change operations on adolescents, carrying out a "drag story time" and unveiling "gender-inclusive" apparel for children. Nike has also sponsored a "queer youth field day" for children as young as 13 and has even partnered an OnlyFans creator to teach children about voguing with free pairs of shoes to incentivize attendance.

The Economist: How Kyiv fended off a Russian missile blitz in May
The Ukrainian capital, Kyiv, successfully defended itself against a Russian missile campaign throughout May. In this time frame, Russia fired 16% of all the missiles it has used in 15 months of war, nearly three times the average rate, with most aimed at Kyiv. Ukraine survived due to its agile use of vintage Soviet air defence systems alongside new Western hardware such as the Patriot PAC-3 system, the first of which came online on April 21st. The country's missile-defence system is organised in layers, with each missile being used as effectively as possible so as to hit targets as far away from cities as possible. Although Kyiv's missile defence system may currently be world-leading, maintaining and improving it will not be straightforward. Furthermore, other cities remain vulnerable as the Russian missile campaign of terror shows no sign of stopping anytime soon.
Forbes: The Hawk Air-Defense System: Cold War Relic To Ukrainian Asset
The recent U.S. aid package for Ukraine included the outdated MIM-23 Hawk air-defense system, surprising some due to the advanced air-defense systems being deployed in the Russia-Ukraine war. However, the Hawk system will provide Ukraine with an advantage in controlling their airspace, complementing their existing air-defense arsenal. The Hawk system is designed to engage older equipment, making it an additional target for the Russians and possibly requiring them to utilize some of their newer, shorter-supply systems to neutralize the Hawk systems.
Spectator USA: Is Putin killing the OPEC golden goose?
As Ukraine prepares for a counteroffensive against Russia, signs are emerging that Russia is losing its diplomatic and foreign policy gains. Anti-Western energy alliances are beginning to fracture, and Russia's attempts to shut down competitors to its oil and gas are failing. At a recent OPEC+ meeting, tensions emerged as Saudi officials grew increasingly annoyed with Russia's refusal to cut oil output, instead flooding the market with discounted oil to fund its struggling economy and military operations. This short-term and underhanded approach is eroding confidence within OPEC+ and could have dire long-term consequences for Putin's regime.

The Federalist: Biden Admin Rejoins UN Club That Furthers Leftist, CCP Aims
The United States will rejoin UNESCO and pay back dues, despite the organization's anti-U.S. bias and recent support of China's influence campaign. The move is framed as countering Chinese influence, but funding the organization will still support the spread of CCP propaganda. Congress approved a waiver to allow the Department of State to request funding to rejoin UNESCO in their 2024 budget. The Biden administration's budget includes $150 million for payments and back dues, with a plan to pay off the full debt of $619 million in the upcoming years. UNESCO has also promoted problematic positions, such as "social and emotional learning" programs and normalization of pedophilia.
The Economist: The death of Silvio Berlusconi creates uncertainty for his party
Europe's political landscape shifts with the death of Silvio Berlusconi, causing uncertainty for his party and Giorgia Meloni's ruling coalition. Without its charismatic leader, Forza Italia may fragment and disappear, potentially causing some of his followers to defect to the opposition and eroding Meloni's majority. The most likely outcome is a reinforcement of the Brothers of Italy's ascendancy, although this could undermine Meloni's efforts to portray her government as representative of "harmless Latin conservatism" without Forza Italia being aligned with the radical, identitarian right.
Western systems arrived just in time to help Kyiv fend off a missile blitz by Russia in May. Ukraine is counter-attacking in multiple directions, with mixed results, and its main forces have yet to be committed. Zaporizhia may be the focus of its offensive. The best Western equipment is now showing up in the field, but other places in Ukraine also need it.

Newsbusters: WHAT? OpenAI CEO Pushes for ‘Global Cooperation’ with Communist China on AI

Conservatives have criticized Altman for promoting collaboration with a country responsible for atrocities such as forcing Uyghurs into “reeducation” camps.

The Epoch Times: ‘Very Real Risk’ of Landlords Exiting Rental Market Amid Soaring Mortgage Rates
Rising mortgage rates may force landlords out of the rental market due to low profits, according to research by Savills. Investors' net profits fell to below 4% in Q1 2023, marking their lowest level since 2007 and prompting fears that landlords will exit the sector. The "dramatic shift" in finances has been attributed to 12 successive interest rate increases and limited tax relief. Savills predicts future investment in the rental market will be dominated by cash buyers and those with low borrowing requirements. Smaller landlords with high levels of debt are expected to face viability issues.
The Bank of England has increased interest rates 12 times in a row to 4.5% from 0.1%, leading to a dramatic shift in investor finances. The high rates have caused landlords' average net profits to fall to its lowest level since 2007, which might push some landlords out of the rental property sector. While tenant demand has grown, smaller landlords with higher debt levels are coming to the end of their fixed rate and could face viability concerns, making it a challenge to sustain a margin. In contrast, larger landlords in better financial positions are better placed to benefit from the post-pandemic period's rental growth.

The Epoch Times: Legal Group Demands Investigation of Navy Drag Queen Digital Ambassador Over 'Highly Partisan' Social Media Posts
Conservative legal group America First Legal (AFL) is calling for an investigation into “highly partisan” comments made by Yeoman Second Class Joshua Kelley, a drag-performing sailor and the subject of an official Navy digital ambassador pilot program. AFL has demanded that Navy Secretary Carlos Del Toro initiate an investigation into Kelley, who the group claims has “repeatedly violated the Uniform Code of Military Justice by engaging in partisan politics, acting disrespectfully towards his superiors in public forums, bringing discredit upon the military through obscene social media posts, and wearing the uniform under circumstances that imply Navy endorsement of personal views and activity.” Comments made by Kelley on his official Twitter account included criticizing the Trump administration, endorsing Democratic gubernatorial candidate Stacy Abrams in Georgia in 2018 and other Democratic candidates in the 2018 midterms, and retweeting campaign materials from President Joe Biden’s 2020 Democratic Presidential campaign. #(1)

Spectator USA: Why do we ignore Islamic slavery?
Siwa, Egypt, a place Alexander the Great visited, is home to 300 natural springs, Roman cisterns, date palms, olive groves and the Siwi language. Previously unheard of black slavery in the area during the slave trails to Mecca is contrasted with California's proposed reparation payments to the descendants of black slaves by the state government. The article goes on to discuss the historical and widespread role of slavery in Islam, covering Africa, Europe, Asia and white female captives whose lives were aped by their captors, and gives a brief history of some of their lives. It argues that the present fervor for reparations from former slave-holding states is misguided and ill-considered, since the recipients in the past were not paid, and the people forced to pay are no longer alive.
Daily Wire: ‘Incredibly Rare’ Roman Mausoleum Discovered In London
Archaeologists from the Museum of London Archaeology have discovered what is believed to be the most intact Roman mausoleum to be found in the UK. The mausoleum was unearthed at an excavation site in south London called Liberty of Southwark. Researchers believe the building may have been a wealthy family tomb and was probably two stories high. The discovery also included pottery fragments and roughly 100 coins, but no human remains or coffins were discovered. The find provides a glimpse into the lifestyle and living conditions of the area during the Roman period. The site is currently being developed as a shopping and living center, but city officials have said the recent finds will be preserved and displayed to the community.

Fox News: Polish authorities say woman who died as providers tried to maintain pregnancy should have had abortion option
Polish health authorities acknowledge a violation of patient rights in the case of a woman who died of sepsis in her fifth month of pregnancy. The woman was not told about the minimal chances of maintaining the pregnancy and had a right to terminate it as her life was threatened by it. The case gained scrutiny due to Poland's restrictive abortion law. Women's rights advocates warn that doctors prioritize saving pregnancies over women, while conservative anti-abortion groups accuse them of exploiting such cases for political gain.
National Review: The Corner: England’s National Health Service Bans Most Puberty-Blocking
The NHS England has banned the administration of puberty blockers except in the context of clinical trials. The new policy aims to explore developmentally and psychosocially appropriate options for children and young people presenting with gender incongruence, which may be a transient phase. This approach is more similar to the laws of Florida, Tennessee, and other states than to those of California, Washington, and the rest of the gender-affirmation cartel.
