PJ Media: Why Is Fox News so Desperate to Silence Tucker Carlson?
Why Is Fox News so Desperate to Silence Tucker Carlson?
Fox News has sent a cease and desist letter to Tucker Carlson, demanding he stop publishing “Tucker on Twitter,” claiming he violated his contract by posting a straight-to-camera monologue on the platform. It is unclear whether Fox owns Carlson’s ability to express his views on current events, and Carlson’s lawyer has accused Fox of trying to take his client’s right to free speech away. Fox’s insistence that Carlson remain silent on current events remains a head-scratcher, given that he is no longer anchoring the primetime lineup for the network, and is not making money by expressing his views on Twitter.

Newsbusters: Soft vs. Hard Bigotry With the Ladies of ‘The View’
Soft vs. Hard Bigotry With the Ladies of ‘The View’
Republican Senator Tim Scott appeared on "The View" to address accusations of racism and the idea that successful Black Republicans are "exceptions not the rule." Scott provided evidence that despite racism, there are growing numbers of Black people succeeding and encouraged young Black people to see successful Black people as examples instead of exceptions. Freeing Black children from poorly performing schools would be a meaningful first step, something Scott has long advocated, however, the left opposes this even as many, including elected officials, send their kids to private schools. Scott's challenge to Black children was to follow the example of the successful.

The Corner: Bill Barr: This Trump Indictment Isn’t a Witch Hunt — It’s ‘Very, Very Damning’
Former Attorney General Bill Barr criticized former President Trump's behavior described in a recent federal indictment, calling the documents "very, very damning." Barr defended Trump against past political attacks but argued that this situation is different, stating that Trump was "totally wrong" to believe he had a right to the sensitive documents in question. Barr emphasized that these documents belong to the government and are not personal documents for any individual, including the former president.

The Blaze: Trump claims his indictment is a  'distraction' from the Bidens' possible crimes
Trump claims his indictment is a  'distraction' from the Bidens' possible crimes
Former President Trump suggests that the recent indictment against him is politically motivated and a cover-up for the criminal activity of the Biden family, including their alleged influence peddling schemes and foreign dealings. Republicans have been investigating President Biden's involvement in this alleged activity and claim to have been stymied at every turn. Trump also suggests that a minor charge against Hunter Biden may be in the works by Democrats to appear fair.43% of Americans view the indictment as being politically motivated, with Trump's favorability increasing since April and Biden's falling. The indictment lists 37 felony counts, including willful retention of classified documents, conspiracy to obstruct justice, and making false statements. Trump is set to appear in court on Tuesday.

Among the deals is a $5.6 billion agreement between the Saudi Investment Ministry and Chinese electric car maker Human Horizons to collaborate on automotive research and manufacturing, and a $250 million deal for Saudi railway company SABATCO to build rail wagons and wheels with Chinese state-owned rolling stock manufacturer CRRC. Spectator USA: Britain boards Biden’s climate gravy train
Britain boards Biden’s climate gravy train
UK's Prime Minister, Rishi Sunak, has negotiated the Atlantic Declaration with US President Biden, which allows British firms to receive subsidies under Biden's green new deal, providing access to tax credits that total hundreds of billions of dollars. British defense manufacturers will also be counted as “domestic manufacturers” for US procurement, which could lead to even more money on the table due to the profligate nature of the American arms budget. Despite being dismissed as meaningless by some, Sunak has seized the chance for the UK to take a percentage of the unlimited cash that President Biden is spraying at American industry.

The Epoch Times: Pakistan Receives First Discounted Russian Oil Amid Economic Crisis
Pakistan Receives First Discounted Russian Oil Amid Economic Crisis
Pakistan has received discounted Russian crude oil, in an effort to establish ties with Russia amidst dwindling foreign reserves. The first-ever shipment of Russian oil to Pakistan has arrived in the country with further cargo still expected. The details of the cost and method of payment remain unknown, however, Pakistan’s crude imports are anticipated to reach 100,000 bpd after the first shipment arrives. The purchase is a further outlet for Russia, which is shifting away from Western markets. The declining economy and reserves of Pakistan have resulted in various policies, such as increased tariffs to secure funding, in order to combat the issue of widespread poverty.

Pakistan has announced that it will import two million metric tons of wheat from Russia due to a shortage of food grain in the country. However, it needs to overcome the issue of making payments for the imports, as Russian banks have been blocked from the SWIFT international payment network. Barter trade options with Russia are being explored, in addition to international bidding or government-to-government options. According to the Foreign Affairs Ministry spokesperson, Pakistan has an “open policy,” implying that the government will seek “options and avenues” when there is a “national interest.” The economy of Pakistan has deteriorated, with barely enough currency reserves to cover one month’s imports. The policies implemented to combat the issue have involved raised energy tariffs, taxes, and scaled-back subsidies. The IMF has insisted on certain conditions being met before making further disbursements.

Liberty Nation: IMDb Rigging Disney’s Little Mermaid Reviews
IMDb Rigging Disney’s Little Mermaid Reviews
IMDb is accused of rigging the ratings of The Little Mermaid to show a more positive evaluation of the film, despite negative reviews from actual moviegoers. The ratings of the film were significantly higher on Rotten Tomatoes than on IMDb, leading to suspicions that the latter had altered the genuine, viewer-generated opinions. Some suggest that the skewed ratings are due to Disney dropping sponsorships and usage of sites critical of their movies. Others suspect that audiences are simply tired of the forced woke agenda in modern film-making, as seen in new Oscar rules incentivizing "diverse" movies, and a growing criticism of political correctness in the movie industry.

Forbes: Proposed Water Regulations May Not Help The People They Are Supposed To
Proposed Water Regulations May Not Help The People They Are Supposed To
New EPA rules propose strict regulations on perfluorooctanoic acid (PFOA) and perfluorooctanesulfonic acid (PFOS) in drinking water, reducing the allowable level to 4 parts per trillion and increasing costs for water treatment facilities. However, it has not been established whether the proposed limit is the appropriate standard for safe drinking water, and the lower limit may result in unintended consequences, such as increased water bills for communities with detectable levels of the chemicals. Companies using these chemicals may face more litigation seeking compensation for potential damages.

Regulations on drinking water in California and New York have reduced contaminants but at a significant cost for consumers, and the implementation costs of the new EPA rules may be significant as well. Strict standards set by the EPA may result in people paying a lot of money for marginal improvements in health and safety, especially if the cost-benefit ratio of the final rule is not improved. The government's role is to ensure that new regulations pass a cost-benefit test to prevent people from paying excessive amounts of money.
