Washington Free Beacon: Dozens of War Games Show US Unprepared for ‘Horrifically Bloody’ War With China
Dozens of War Games Show US Unprepared for ‘Horrifically Bloody’ War With China
The US is unprepared for a "horrifically bloody" war with China if it invades Taiwan, with war game reports predicting the loss of "thousands of servicemembers, dozens of ships, and hundreds of aircraft." Experts fear that the Biden administration is not doing enough to build a better deterrent for China, with the US Navy intelligence chief calling it "China blindness." Lawmakers are urging Biden to better arm Taiwan. China completed a three-day blockade rehearsal around Taiwan in April, with experts projecting an invasion as early as 2024 or by 2027. Defense experts warn that the impact on society would be "devastating."

Additionally, she will join Gabrielle Giffords in Los Angeles to commemorate 30 years of anti-gun violence work. Meanwhile, Democrat candidate Robert F. Kennedy Jr. has announced his candidacy for the presidential election, voicing support for the Constitution, gun rights, and an end to the Russo-Ukrainian conflict. Among the Republican contenders, Florida Gov. Ron DeSantis, a staunch conservative, is already locked in a battle with former President Donald Trump for the Republican nomination, while over 400 candidates have filed to run for president.

Trump Defender Alan Dershowitz: Fed Indictment ‘Much Stronger’ Than Bragg Case, Tape Recording ‘Damning’
Former President Donald Trump faces a "much stronger" federal indictment than the one from Manhattan District Attorney Alvin Bragg's office, warned Harvard Law professor Alan Dershowitz in a recent interview. Dershowitz, who previously served as a member of Trump's defense team and frequently defended the former president on cable news, claimed that the embattled former president is facing targeting. Despite defending Trump in the past, both Dershowitz and former Attorney General Bill Barr had harsh words for the former president, with Barr stating that if even half of the accusations in the indictment are true, Trump is "toast."

Red State: Even CNN Analyst Thinks Something Is Amiss About Process of Hunter Biden Case
Even CNN Analyst Thinks Something Is Amiss About Process of Hunter Biden Case
Hunter Biden's investigation hasn't progressed since at least 2018, says CNN legal analyst Elie Honig, deeming it "preposterous" how the case has dragged on for five years. The inquiry is regarding Hunter Biden's possible failure to declare his income and gun possession while dealing with addiction issues. Honig emphasizes that the laptop message is not involved in the tax issue case, even though reports have indicated that a grand jury asked a witness about the "10 percent for the big guy" message. Although the FBI has shown little progress in this matter, the Special Counsel has taken swift action against former President Donald Trump, exhibiting a clear double standard in the application of law.

Miami police are preparing for protests, expecting anywhere between 5,000 to 50,000 people, and have encouraged demonstrators to use their First Amendment rights in a peaceful manner. Trump has asked his supporters to protest peacefully, highlighting a previous peaceful protest against his indictment in April in New York City. Trump denies any wrongdoing and calls the charges ridiculous and baseless.

The Epoch Times: Senator Censured by North Carolina GOP Over Pattern of Siding With Democrats
Senator Censured by North Carolina GOP Over Pattern of Siding With Democrats
The North Carolina Republican Party has censured Sen. Thom Tillis (R-N.C.) over his votes on key legislation, including a bill that restricts gun ownership. Party delegates voted to censure Tillis over his votes on bills like the Respect for Marriage Act, which overturned a law that defined marriage as between a man and woman, and the Bipartisan Safer Communities Act, which expanded federal background checks and featured incentives for states to pass laws that enable judges to strip some people of their ability to possess guns. Supporters said they hope it sends a firm message of dissatisfaction.

Shift Tillis, 62, has represented North Carolina in the U.S. Senate since 2015, he has been attracting criticism for his shift on key issues such as marriage. Tillis opposed changing the definition of marriage earlier in his political career. The North Carolina Republican Party’s official position is that marriage between a man and a woman "must be upheld as the national standard." The Dare County GOP previously censured Tillis, declaring Tillis, through his vote for the new bill, "deliberately abandoned the national and state party platforms on marriage; and whereas his rejection of such a crucial plank of the GOP platform has damaged the reputation of his party and further marginalized the natural family."

Spectator USA: Biden’s China thaw goes deeper than rhetoric
Biden’s China thaw goes deeper than rhetoric
The Biden administration's softening stance towards China goes beyond a change in tone, as the US plans to allow top semiconductor manufacturers from South Korea and Taiwan to maintain and expand their chip-making operations in China without fear of US reprisals. This move amounts to a reversal on economic export controls designed to isolate China, a declaration of economic war. The administration's new line on China is that the health of the Chinese and US economies are closely linked and that a separation of economies would be disastrous for both countries and destabilizing for the rest of the world.

The high cost of living, particularly in energy and utilities, is making it increasingly difficult for Californians to turn a profit. The state's leaders are disconnected from the people and mainstream media is not holding the government accountable.

The Epoch Times: Novak’s Greatness Goes Beyond Being the GOAT—Will He Be Recognized for It?
Novak’s Greatness Goes Beyond Being the GOAT—Will He Be Recognized for It?
Novak Djokovic is considered the greatest of all time in tennis, thanks to his unmatched mental, physical, and emotional strength displayed in every shot. He also stood up against COVID-19 vaccines, losing his chance to play at multiple events. Djokovic battled not only his on-court opponents, but also major politicians, scientists, bureaucrats, and media globally, losing sponsors and acclaim. However, he has been vindicated medically, as the wearing of masks and vaccine mandates are under increasing attack from many quarters. The sports media, including the highly woke ESPN, still refer to his anti-vax stance as an aberration excused only by his athletic abilities, without acknowledging the courage of his COVID stance.

The Dodgers are honoring men who dressed as nuns to mock the Catholic Church, causing controversy. This is a far cry from breaking baseball's "color line" as Jackie Robinson and Branch Rickey did 75 years ago. Rickey's methods for integrating baseball may have been slow but he was determined, and found the right man in Robinson. The Dodgers' current controversy shows little regard for Christian values, and is an attempt to cash in on trendy social justice causes. Wesley Branch Rickey, a conservative Republican, would be spinning in his grave if he saw this.

Two evacuation orders have been released as a result.

This Is the (Real) Most Dangerous National Park in America
Outdoor site Outforia drew on National Park Service incident data to find the national parks with the highest fatality rates in the US between 2010 and 2020. Denali, in Alaska, is the deadliest park by far; Virgin Islands, Big Bend, Redwood, Sequoia, Kings Canyon, Mt. Rainier, Death Valley, Channel Islands, Yosemite, and Guadalupe Mountains also make the list. However, it bears mentioning that the United States’ national parks are remarkably safe: In 2018, the National Park Service estimates it saw less than one death per million visitors, and some of the parks on our list saw less than one death a year. Your safety in the parks depends more on the decisions you make than the parks you choose to visit.

The American Mind: Who’s on the Other End of the Chatbot?
Who’s on the Other End of the Chatbot?
Our relationship with technology shapes us. Large Language Models (LLMs) promise to interface with us naturally through voice or text, erasing the need to translate our desires into keystrokes or clicks. However, the makers of LLMs filter and fine-tune them, determining what we think to ask for and the terms on which we can interact. Integrating LLMs into software everywhere means their rules become the rules of everything, and political bias, censorship, and language control creep in. The path forward is to use LLMs with awareness of what we gain and lose, demanding agency and decision power over which LLMs we use and how.

LLMs offer endless use cases, from generating text to image and code generation to helping us understand case histories, medical records, and more. However, the dilemma at the heart of every LLM is how to use it so as not to lose out on the formation that the task would otherwise provide. Using LLMs with an awareness of what we gain and lose means taking ownership over how we use them, training and fine-tuning them, and demanding agency and decision power. We must actively participate in determining what kind of LLMs are available and how we use them, as our relationship with LLMs will shape our language use and ultimately shape who we become.

Self-Driving Disaster: Elon Musk's Tesla 'Autopilot' System Linked to 736 Crashes and 17 Fatalities Since 2019
Tesla's Autopilot system has been linked to 736 crashes and 17 fatalities in the US since 2019, raising concerns about the safety of Elon Musk's driver-assistance technology. The severity and number of accidents have sparked a discussion on the safety of autonomous driving-based technology. Tillman Mitchell, a 17-year-old boy, was one victim in a serious incident in which a Tesla Model Y struck him when it was allegedly in Autopilot mode. Despite these concerns, Tesla CEO Elon Musk continues to defend the Autopilot system, arguing that autopilot-equipped vehicles are safer to drive than those that are only operated by human drivers. Criticism of the technology, however, grew, and some are calling for a ban on automated driving.

California Can't Generate Enough Power To Fuel Its Electric Vehicle Mandate, Report Finds
California faces significant challenges in meeting the power generation required to support its electric vehicle mandate, according to a Pacific Research Institute report. The state will fall more than 21% short of the power generation levels required, the study notes, due to the "seemingly insurmountable hurdles" it faces in transitioning to green energy. Policymakers are urged to reassess the state's approach for addressing global climate change. The shift to green energy is costly and volatile, requiring a scale comparable to a World War II level of mobilization, the report states. It also notes that the transition could weaken support for similar policies at a national level.

The Epoch Times: The Censorship Hegemon Must Be Stopped
The Censorship Hegemon Must Be Stopped
The Cybersecurity Infrastructure Security Agency, or CISA, was created to protect digital infrastructure from cyberattacks, but it has also become the central hub coordinating the government's information control activities aimed at protecting the "cognitive infrastructure." CISA is part of a censorship-industrial complex composed of federal agencies and private entities, where the censorship grunt work is outsourced. The U.S. government has censored Americans on a wide range of topics, from election integrity and the Hunter Biden laptop story to the war in Ukraine and more. Missouri v. Biden is expected to become the most important free speech case of our generation.
