Townhall: Trump, Felony Indictments, And The Storybook Ending That Will Never Happen
Trump, Felony Indictments, And The Storybook Ending That Will Never Happen
Former President Donald Trump is facing multiple legal battles that could send him to prison, making him far more likely to end up in a prison cell than the Oval Office. Even a single legal proceeding would take a heavy toll on anyone and Trump will be facing at least four. If Trump is incarcerated or in home confinement, he cannot be president or wage any kind of effective campaign. Legal battles only help Trump with his most loyal base, while making politicians more unelectable than they already were, leaving Trump's already slim general election prospects only get infinitesimally slimmer as the legal issues mount. Republican voters need to elect someone who can actually win a general election against a Democrat if they want to avoid giving this country over to the radical left.

Townhall: What Matters Most Is Taking Back the White House in 2024
What Matters Most Is Taking Back the White House in 2024
Former president Trump is facing double standard attacks resulting in two indictments, and possible Georgia and January 6th indictments are yet to come. Despite destroying cell phones and emails, and having classified documents in numerous locations, Hillary Clinton and President Biden have not been targeted like Trump. Trump's legal team will launch a vigorous defense, but the time involved in the protracted and messy trial could seriously harm his campaign to regain the White House. This unfair targeting raises the question of whether Trump is the right candidate for the 2024 presidential election.

The Epoch Times: Catholic Hospital Takeover by State Authorities Driven by Ideology: Law Professor
Catholic Hospital Takeover by State Authorities Driven by Ideology: Law Professor
Calvary Hospital's takeover by the Australian government has been called an ideological decision by law professor Joanna Howe, who claims that Canberra Hospital would be a better target if the takeover was truly about efficiency. Calvary's refusal to provide abortion services reflects the government's push to enforce their agenda and has set a precedent for individuals and institutions to be targeted by the government if they disagree with their views. The legal battle is ongoing, with ACT Chief Justice Lucy McCallum able to confirm a decision on June 13th at the latest. The acquisition of Calvary has caused concern among religious groups as their confidence in the government ensuring their religious institutions are safe from bureaucratic encroachment has been shaken.

The increasing decline in religious affiliation in Australia has led to a change in attitudes, with the ACT Labor-Green government appealing to a younger and more educated voter base that is more concerned with issues such as climate change and equality, rather than religious rights. The government's decision to remove federally-funded religious chaplains from public schools and extend mandatory reporting requirements for religious ministers reflect a shift towards secularism. ACT Chief Minister Barr has spoken about his belief that people should be able to enjoy freedom from religion without impacting others' freedom to practice it and expects it will be another decade or so before other politicians make similar observations.

Fox News: Country singer Jimmie Allen dropped from his label amid sexual abuse lawsuit
Country singer Jimmie Allen dropped from his label amid sexual abuse lawsuit
Country singer Jimmie Allen has been dropped by his label after being sued by his former manager for sexual abuse. Allen is being sued for sexually abusing his former day-to-day manager for a year and a half while working with her. Allen has denied the allegations. The lawsuit was filed in Tennessee federal court on May 11, claiming that Allen "manipulated and used his power over Plaintiff’s job to sexually harass and abuse her." Allen allegedly raped her following a dinner they attended after the taping of an "American Idol" episode in March 2021. Allen’s other alleged abuses included grabbing her breasts and bottom and putting his hands down her pants in public without her consent.

The Epoch Times: Repairs of Collapsed I-95 in Philadelphia Could Take Months
Repairs of Collapsed I-95 in Philadelphia Could Take Months
The collapse of an elevated section of the I-95 highway in Philadelphia has caused extensive travel disruptions and street closures. A fire from a tanker truck carrying flammable cargo caused the northbound section of the highway to fall through, and southbound lanes were also compromised. It may take months to repair the highway, which is “likely the busiest interstate in the commonwealth” with around 160,000 vehicles each day. No injuries have been reported, but the commercial hauler remains trapped in the debris. Federal partners are working with Pennsylvania officials to rebuild the major artery.

Townhall: The Exceptionalism of Opportunity vs. The Rule of Outcomes
The Exceptionalism of Opportunity vs. The Rule of Outcomes
GOP Senator Tim Scott appeared on "The View," but one panelist, Joy Behar, was absent. The progressive socialist left's real racism is evident in their lack of respect for a sitting US Senator who is Black. Sonny Hostin, a panelist on "The View," evidences the soft bigotry of low expectations, believing in economic enslavement and perpetual victimhood for Black Americans. Black intellectual elites perpetuate this ideology, while Booker T. Washington embraced economic empowerment through education and self-reliance for all. Progressives' rhetoric of "systemic racism" must be questioned, especially when Democrat governors do not support equal access to quality education. The left's soft bigotry of low expectations prevents us from reaching our full potential as individuals.
