Front Page Magazine: One Nation, Two Sets of Laws
Prosecutorial discretion has led to a two-tier justice system in some jurisdictions, where pro-crime prosecutors choose not to prosecute thieves, drug dealers and violent criminals. While Manhattan DA Alvin Bragg issued a ‘zero day’ memo on taking office, telling prosecutors not to seek prison sentences for armed robbers. This selective prosecution has become routine in New York, and at the federal level, where written laws have little bearing as the unwritten laws of politics are used as a substitute for rigorous adherence to the law itself.
