Fox News: House committee grills Biden Labor Dept on child migrant exploitation ahead of hearing
Republicans are questioning the Department of Labor (DOL) over reports of the growth of child labor force among unaccompanied child migrants. The House Committee on Education and the Workforce sent a letter to Acting Secretary Julie Su asking what steps the DOL has taken to crack down on the exploitation of these children in the workforce. Many of these children secure employment by using false IDs, which makes it hard to ensure that employers comply with the Fair Labor Standards Act (FLSA), which bars minors from hazardous occupations, according to the committee. It also accuses the DOL of ignoring the problem and has shifted blame to Congress and employers.

Fox News: DeSantis on whether Biden's up for another four years as president: 'People can judge that'
Governor Ron DeSantis suggests that voters can decide if President Biden is up for another four years in office after the president tripped and fell while handing out diplomas. DeSantis emphasizes that he is running for president due to concerns over Biden's policies, not his age or health. DeSantis also counterpunches against former President Donald Trump, who is leading in GOP nomination polls, stating that it will take more than one term in office to "slay the deep state" and referring to Trump's failure to do so during his previous term.
Fox News: Nikki Haley warns US 'could end up with a President Harris' if Biden re-elected after latest trip and fall
Nikki Haley warns that if Joe Biden is re-elected, Kamala Harris could become commander-in-chief due to his advanced age. Daily Wire: Trump Vows To Fix U.S. In Six Months, Prompting DeSantis To Ask ‘Why Didn’t He Do It His First Four Years?’
Trump predicts he can “have it totally the way it was” in six months if he wins second term. He says his experience will help speed up his agenda. DeSantis criticizes this promise, asking why Trump didn't do it during his first term. DeSantis also argues that his ability to serve two terms will be an asset for Republicans in future elections.
Fox News: Florida jury awards $63.5M to businessmen harassed by Miami city commissioner
Miami City Commissioner Joe Carollo was found civilly liable for violating the First Amendment rights of two Little Havana businessmen who supported his political opponent in the 2017 city commission race. Carollo was accused of using his office to harass the businessmen through police and code enforcement, which damaged their reputations. A federal jury awarded $63.5 million in compensation and punitive damages to the businessmen.
Carollo's attorney stated that they plan to appeal the decision and that Carollo was not specifically targeting the businessmen but working for the betterment of his district. The city of Miami was not named in the lawsuit, but covered Carollo's legal fees. Carollo is a former two-term mayor of Miami.
Fox News: Kayleigh McEnany asks Chris Christie ahead of expected White House launch: 'Who are you trying to win here?'
Kayleigh McEnany advises Chris Christie to improve his messaging for his expected entry into the 2024 White House race next week. Christie’s team plans to adopt a 'joyful' and 'authentic' tone that appeals to the “exhausted majority” and does not focus on "anti-Trump messaging". However, McEnany believes this approach might not help Christie in the primaries, and advised him to focus instead on poll "movement" and on the debate stage.
Daily Wire: Daily Wire Celebrates One-Year Anniversary Of ‘What Is A Woman?’; Here’s How You Can Watch For Free
The Daily Wire will stream "What is a Woman?" for free on Twitter to celebrate the documentary's one-year anniversary, after Twitter had previously canceled a deal with the conservative media company due to "misgendering". The film sparked controversy as Walsh raises the question of the logic behind the radical gender ideology movement that has negatively impacted women and children. It led to a movement to protect children from the harmful effects of sex change procedures, with at least 12 states banning transgender surgeries on minors.
The Imaginative Conservative: Whittaker Chambers' "Witness": A Story for the Ages
Whittaker Chambers' "Witness" is a testimony against the dying civilization of Jazz Age America and communism. He believed man without mysticism was a monster, and once a communist, he left the party after seeing it as a fascist and terrorist organization. Though Chambers testified against Alger Hiss and communism, he was not just a witness against communism, but for his faith in God. Beyond confirming Hiss's guilt, the main reason for "Witness" today is to encourage others to not become monsters like the Soviet state and to forever assure one's standing as a counter-revolutionary. The American Mind: One Nation Under Pot
Plato believed that a vegetarian diet could create a harmonious society by encouraging timorousness and discouraging man's competitive instincts. Likewise, Tucker Carlson believes that THC in marijuana makes people compliant and passive, while nicotine frees the mind. With the trend towards further liberalization of marijuana, it is becoming a common ingredient in processed foods, raising questions about its potential effects on health and society. As with other additives in processed foods, harmful effects may not be discovered until it is too late, making it difficult to point fingers of blame or take action.

Fox News: Prince Harry, Meghan Markle 'nowhere near done' talking about royals, might make another documentary: expert
Prince Harry and Meghan Markle are not done speaking out about their experience in the royal family, according to experts. The Duke of Sussex is reportedly shopping around the film rights to his memoir, "Spare," and is interested in making a documentary about his late mother, Princess Diana. Despite recent reports that the couple is finished with tell-alls, royal commentators say there is more to come.
Experts say there is no proof of return on investment in the content created by the couple and their currency is their royal family link. Royal commentator Duncan Larcombe advises the couple to stop all criticism and stop the attacks. He suggests that if Prince Harry and Markle have nothing left to say, it could be a sign that relations across the Atlantic are thawing. They should turn their attention elsewhere and focus on work with Archewell instead of seeking to remain in the public eye.
Fox News: Belk scrubs website of kids' LGBTQ apparel after selling trans pride shirts for 2-year-olds
Belk has removed most of its children's LGBTQ pride clothing after an inquiry from Fox Business, which highlighted that a T-shirt for children as young as two displaying the words "So happy to be me" and colors symbolizing the transgender flag was being sold on the site. The graphic shirt was promoted online by the company as a way to show support, and was available for boys aged between four and seven. It was stocked by online retailer Instant Message, which is yet to comment on the issue. A separate shirt for boys bore ice cream confections colored to represent the gay pride, bisexual, lesbian, transgender and non-binary flags.
Following Fox's inquiries, both shirts and most of Belk's Pride section were removed from its website, with a few pieces of apparel left. At least three girls' shirts marketed on the site for seven-to-16-year-olds also promote LGBTQ themes. A Disney shirt for boys was also being sold with a rainbow design and the words "Think happy thoughts," though it is now out of stock. Belk made no comment on the matter.

Fox News: Trinidadian ambassador elected UN General Assembly president
Trinidad and Tobago's Ambassador Dennis Francis has been elected as the next president of the U.N. General Assembly. The Assembly has taken the spotlight in reacting to the war in Ukraine because of Russia's veto power in the Security Council. General Assembly resolutions are not legally binding, but they are important as a reflection of world opinion.
Francis's theme for his presidency is "Peace, Prosperity, Progress, and Sustainability." His main focus will be to re-energize U.N. goals for 2030, which are seriously lagging, including ending extreme poverty and combating climate change. Francis will take the presidency "at a deeply challenging moment for the human family" as Guterres points to "conflicts and climate chaos, escalating poverty, hunger and inequality, mistrust and division."

Inflation and high living costs are forcing Baby Boomers to return to work, with 55% saying they need more money and 1 in 6 considering returning to work, according to a survey by Paychex. The Imaginative Conservative: The Absurdity of Modern American Theater: A Call for Rebirth
The American theater has lost its way, becoming either purely commercial or ideological, lacking social utility. The theater's origins in religious feeling, storytelling, and social cohesion have been replaced by vulgarity, vice, and sentimentality. Society needs a theater that offers a cohesive image of the human condition, and teaches us to examine our image of sorrow and felicity together. The traditional theater was a public art, urging unity and agreement on social norms and values. The need for social definition was as important to playwrights as the necessity for distance and hostility between artist and audience.

Attorney Jennifer Williams will face a jury in the wrongful death lawsuit brought by Cynthia Randolph on behalf of her daughter Mikaela Haynes. Williams served as Mikaela's Guardian ad Litem during a vicious court battle that led to Mikaela's suicide rather than be placed in the care of her sexually abusive father. Williams tried to have the case dismissed, but the court found that she owed a duty to protect Mikaela and that the plaintiff had sufficiently alleged negligence. This case is one of few in Missouri to make it past qualified immunity claims against GALs, and it sends a strong message to attorneys failing to guard children's best interests.

Barr's departure comes amid a wave of exits from the Post, with senior culture editor David Malitz also moving on to become the New York Times' culture deputy editor. Some believe the departures reflect discontent in the Post newsroom under Buzbee's leadership.
