Liberty Nation: McCarthy House Debt Limit Deal Passed – But Will It Cost Him?
The House passed the Fiscal Responsibility Act, raising the debt ceiling by $4 trillion until January 2025. Non-defense spending is capped with a limited 1% annual growth, which did not meet the promises made by Speaker Kevin McCarthy during his campaign. Hailed as a bipartisan compromise, the act passed 314-117 with much drama and opposition from both parties. Democrats saved the bill at the last minute by flipping their vote, and despite the leadership's endorsement, many Democrats refused to back President Biden's play. Although Biden’s role in the agreement makes his signing likely, the bill must pass through the Senate before it becomes law.
Speaker Kevin McCarthy faces the threat of removal as the House passed the bill, which conflicts with his campaign promises. Under the deal, any representative can propose to remove McCarthy as the speaker, and the vote must happen under the House rules. Should the motion be called, Republicans need to vote unanimously to secure his position, but with 71 Republicans opposing the debt limit bill, his chances of keeping the job look grim. McCarthy could either be removed from the role or survive by turning to the Democrats for help. He is confident that this compromise serves the country's interest, but many of his promises have been broken, and his future remains uncertain.
Fox News: Rubio torches Comey's Trump-bashing book tour: 'Monetizing government service' at expense of country
Former FBI Director James Comey's warning about former President Donald Trump is an example of ex-agency heads monetizing their government service, according to Senate Intelligence Committee Vice Chairman Marco Rubio. Rubio said Comey and ex-officials like him have done more damage to the intelligence and federal law enforcement community than "any foreign power ever could" . In a recent interview, Comey claimed that a second term of Trump would serve as a "very serious threat to the rule of law, almost an existential threat”. Rubio rejected Comey's premises saying that the FBI is an important national security agency and that its rank-and-file agents do brave and important work.
The Epoch Times: NTD Good Morning (June 1): Minnesota Train Derailment; President Biden, Senate Leaders Want Quick Passage of Debt Limit Bill
A train carrying hazardous materials derailed in Minnesota, leading to a highway closure. The debt limit bill passes the House with overwhelming support but its success in the Senate remains unknown.
Red State: Biden's Pride Month Statement Has All the Woke Buzzwords—but Reveals Just How Radical He's Become
President Biden issued a Proclamation on LGBTQIA+ Pride Month, condemning hate and intolerance, but also making divisive assertions such as supporting gender-affirming care for minors and allowing biological boys to play on girls' teams. Many laws target the LGBTQIA+ community, and transgender youth face discrimination in healthcare, schools, and sports. Biden has appointed a historic number of highly qualified openly LGBTQIA+ judges and public servants, protected the right of transgender people to serve openly in the military, and proposed new rules to protect LGBTQIA+ Americans. However, his demands for radical, disfiguring surgeries on children and boys playing against girls show how radicalized this octogenarian president has become.
The Epoch Times: Unredacted WhatsApp Texts Handed to Cabinet Office, Says Johnson
Former UK Prime Minister Boris Johnson has handed over his unredacted WhatsApp messages and notebooks to the Cabinet Office before the deadline set by the country's COVID-19 Inquiry. The inquiry has requested the government to hand over the materials, as it aims to understand whether the UK government fell short in its handling of pandemic alerts due to a focus on other issues. Johnson’s readiness to provide the requested information goes against the stance of the Cabinet Office that has jurisdictional objections.
The Cabinet Office had argued against the release of the data, citing privacy concerns, but Johnson’s spokesman confirmed that all requested material had been handed in full and in unredacted form. Johnson’s move highlights differences within the UK government regarding the power and scope of the inquiry. Lady Hallett, who chairs the inquiry, pressed the government on handing over the information and said that it may investigate the personal commitments of ministers and decision-makers during the time in question.

The Federalist: MLB Players Could Protest Anti-Christian Hate By Refusing To Play
The Los Angeles Dodgers recently honored the anti-Christian hate group, the Sisters of Perpetual Indulgence, during their “Pride Night”. Only four players in the entire league made any statement against the decision, with the only Catholic player to come forward being Trevor Williams, a starting pitcher for the Washington Nationals. Williams denounced the Dodgers and called on other Catholics “to reconsider their support of an organization that allows this type of mockery of its fans to occur.” The only Dodgers player to come forward so far has been relief pitcher Blake Treinen, who criticized the Dodgers organization for honoring the Sisters of Perpetual Indulgence, saying the group “promotes hate of Christians and people of faith”.
MLB players need to stand up for religious tolerance following the recent controversy involving The Los Angeles Dodgers. Players who support religious tolerance should refuse to take the field on June 16 in protest, according to Mollie Hemingway. A large group of star players have already agreed to refuse to wear pride or trans flags of any kind this year, according to sources. MLB players who refuse to play might face financial penalties, be denounced by the media as bigots and have their careers affected in the long term. But they must choose a side, either the side of objective moral truth and resistance or to succumb to the fascism of the left.

Graham Hillard questions the effectiveness of Turnitin's software and suggests that there needs to be a radical rethinking of how student learning is assessed.

Gangs became a major problem in Britain due to the Labour government's reluctance to take them seriously until the 2011 riots, according to Sheldon Thomas, a former gang member and founder of Gangsline. Thomas met with then-home secretary Jack Straw in 2000 to express his concerns about growing gangs, but Straw denied any problem. Thomas believes that Labour's inaction allowed gangs to become too entrenched. Gangsline now works with the government and police forces to address the issue of street gangs, with a mission to reach and mentor young people at risk.

The viewer can expect a civil discussion as well.
