Daily Wire: DeSantis’ Illegal Alien Crackdown Sparks National Protest, But Brings A Great Opportunity For Deportations
Activists are organizing "A Day Without Immigrants" protests and strikes across the US to draw attention to an anti-illegal immigration bill signed by Florida Governor Ron DeSantis. The bill punishes employers who hire illegal aliens, making it tougher for them to gain employment. While the Florida law has led to voluntary deportations, it has prompted businesses, including those with illegal immigrants, to shut down for the day and workers to refuse to show up. The protests do not impact legal immigrants, but social media users such as TikToker Samuel Ruiz encourage participation to show the impact of targeted policies.

National Review: The Corner: Senator Steve Garvey?
Former baseball player Steve Garvey is considering a run for California Senate in 2024. The California Republicans have struggled to find a candidate to oppose Gavin Newsom and any opponent in a Democrat-packed primary. Garvey may have name recognition and experience in the field of fundraising, but he is politically inexperienced and ideologically vague. His past sex scandals could also become an issue. Republican strategy may require running a credible Hispanic or Asian-American candidate rather than a white player, but Garvey should be considered seriously in a less competitive state.
Breitbart: Ron DeSantis Bashes Reporter in New Hampshire: ‘Are You Blind?’
Reporter asks DeSantis why he isn't taking questions from voters during his first campaign event in New Hampshire; DeSantis responds by asking if the reporter is blind and explaining that he is talking to voters who are approaching him. Video shows DeSantis surrounded by a sea of individuals with whom he appeared to be engaging. Some side with DeSantis, others with the reporter. Tense exchange comes as DeSantis continues his "Our Great American Comeback" tour.
Red State: McCarthy Takes Debt-Ceiling Victory Lap, as Usual House GOP Critics Again Threaten His Speakership
House Speaker Kevin McCarthy faces rift within the Republican Party as 149 Republicans vote for a debt-ceiling deal with Democrats, while 71 Republicans vote against it. Florida Representative Matt Gaetz warns of an immediate motion to vacate if a majority of Republicans oppose legislation and use Democrats to pass it. Meanwhile, AOC criticizes McCarthy for his weak leadership, while President Joe Biden praises the passing of the bipartisan compromise bill.
Red State: Elon Musk Quickly Responds to Twitter's Censorship of The Daily Wire, but There Are Still Problems
Twitter censored content because it included instances of “misgendering.” A deal to promote and stream Matt Walsh's What Is a Woman documentary was canceled after a screener was sent over and Twitter employees decided it was abuse and harassment for a man to call his biological daughter “her.” Elon Musk responded by saying that using someone's preferred pronouns is at most rude and certainly breaks no laws. Twitter has labeled a clip from the film as hateful conduct and disabled retweets, while restrictions are still on the videos. Heads need to roll within Musk’s company; people need to be fired for this.
The Blaze: NBC News tries to rescue AOC from parody account by blaming Elon Musk — then buries the truth
Elon Musk blamed for the rise of a parody account on Twitter that mocks Rep. Alexandria Ocasio-Cortez. NBC News published a story regurgitating the narrative of Ocasio-Cortez about the parody account and claimed it "skyrocketed in followers and engagement over the last two days, with some help from Elon Musk." However, the truth is that the parody account received more attention after Ocasio-Cortez's own tweet complaining about it than when Musk first interacted with it. The account had 292,000 followers at the time of NBC News' publication and now has more than 375,000.
Human Events: BREAKING: Jack Posobiec talks to Scott Presler about $5 million
ballot chasing collaboration with Turning Point Action
Turning Point Action has pledged $5 million towards encouraging GOP voters to turn out early for the 2024 presidential election in Wisconsin, Arizona, and Georgia, collaborating with grassroots activist Scott Presler. This initiative involves registering new Republican voters, including the 40% of hunters and Second Amendment voters in Wisconsin who are currently unregistered. Part of the project includes using ballot chasing to ensure paper ballots are locked in, and educating people on how to vote early. The emphasis is on voting throughout the year leading up to the election, instead of just on election day.
National Review: Nearly 10,000 Photos from Hunter Biden’s Laptop Published
Former Trump White House aide Garrett Ziegler has launched a website called BidenLaptopMedia.com, which features thousands of photos from first son Hunter Biden's laptop. The photos, ranging from 2008 to 2019, have been reviewed and redacted by Ziegler's nonprofit research group, Marco Polo. The website aims to provide truth and transparency about the first family, sharing both positive and negative images.

The Epoch Times: July 4: The Best Birthday
As July Fourth approaches, it's important to remember the significance of the holiday, beyond just fireworks and parades. The courage of our Founding Fathers should be honored and celebrated. Options for celebrating include backyard cookouts, attending parades or fireworks displays, or visiting historic locations like Colonial Williamsburg or Washington D.C.
For those seeking more unique celebrations, try attending National Tom Sawyer Days in Hannibal, Missouri, or the Annual Key Lime Festival in Key West, Florida. New York City's Macy's Fourth of July Fireworks Spectacular is also a big event, while Wyoming's Jackson Hole Independence Day Celebration offers fireworks against a majestic backdrop.
The Federalist Papers: Train Carrying Flammable Hazardous Material Derails, Triggering Emergency Response
A train carrying hazardous materials derailed in Minnesota, the second such incident in as many months. 24 cars from the Canadian Pacific train were derailed, but no leaks occurred and no injuries were reported. Lancaster Fire Department responded to the accident and closed a stretch of Highway 59 for cleanup efforts.
National Review: New Hampshire Voters Fully On Board with DeSantis’s Disney Fight: ‘Just Pragmatic’
Ron DeSantis's supporters in New Hampshire are unanimously supportive of his feud with Disney over the protection of children's innocence. DeSantis has been criticized by Chris Christie, Mike Pence, and Nikki Haley who believe he has abandoned limited government principles. However, New Hampshire voters believe DeSantis is doing the right thing by wielding government power to rein in a hostile private company. While these voters are turned off by President Trump's personal attacks, they believe DeSantis is more articulate and genuine than Trump, and he is for the people rather than for corporations.
Daily Wire: ‘He Gave Birth’: Glamour UK Gets Slammed After Putting Trans-Identifying Pregnant Female On Cover
Glamour UK featured a pregnant transgender man on its cover, causing controversy on social media for using the phrase "he gave birth," prompting a debate over gender identity and biology. The cover featured author Logan Brown topless, painted with a three-piece suit design, and headlined "Trans Pregnant Proud." Brown's partner is a non-binary drag queen performer in the UK. The article covered Brown's discussions of queer love, gender dysphoria, and navigating the NHS as a pregnant transgender man. Reaction on social media criticized the language used, with some claiming that it conflicts with biology.
Breitbart: VIDEO: Train Derails in Minnesota While Carrying Hazardous Materials

The Federalist Papers: US Embassies Waste No Time in Rolling Out 'Pride' Month Displays for the World to See
US embassies across the world have raised the LGBTQI+ rainbow banner alongside the Stars and Stripes in honour of Pride Month. The Biden administration lifted the ban on flying the flags on state property, instituted by former President Donald Trump, last year. Republican Representative Glenn Grothman from Wisconsin previously opposed the raising of the flags, calling it "completely disruptive and unnecessary", but the US State Department has released a statement underlining its commitment to promoting and protecting LGBTQI+ rights worldwide. Secretary of State Antony Blinken is also calling for restrictions against Uganda after the country banned homosexuality.

The Epoch Times: Minister Blair Blames CSIS for Not Briefing Him on Beijing Threats to MPs
Bill Blair, Canada's Emergency Preparedness Minister, has stated that the country's spy agency, CSIS, did not brief him on Chinese regime threats to MPs in 2021. Blair expressed that "the minister needed to know, and so I was never notified of the existence of that intelligence, nor was it ever shared with me.” This is part of an ongoing investigation into the targeting of MPs, including Conservative Michael Chong, by the Chinese regime. Special Rapporteur David Johnston stated that there was a disconnect between CSIS and the Department of Public Safety due to poor information flow and processing between agencies, the public service, and Ministers.
The Epoch Times: DoD Funding ‘Extremely Concerning’ Hypersonic Weapons Program at China-Linked University: Gallagher
The Department of Defense is funding hypersonic weapons research at Alfred University in New York, which has ties to CCP-affiliated institutions in China. The Select Committee on the Chinese Communist Party expressed concern that American taxpayer dollars might inadvertently fund weapons development for the Chinese military as a result of these ties. Two letters, nearly identical, were sent to U.S. Secretary of Defense Lloyd Austin and Alfred University President Mark Zupan to address the committee's concerns about research security, requesting a briefing on the matter and copies of all correspondence between DOD and Alfred University.
Washington Free Beacon: Chinese Spies Posing as Tourists Tried To Infiltrate Alaskan Military Bases, Officials Say
Suspected Communist Chinese Party spies have entered US military bases in Alaska, posing as tourists to access some of the Pentagon's most advanced military capabilities and high-end war games. Officials say they have 'no plan' on countering China's influence, and days ago a Chinese fighter jet flew dangerously close to a US aircraft. Multiple encounters with Chinese individuals have been labelled as innocent mistakes, but officials warn that not all tourists appearing in Alaska are what they seem, some could be foreign spies. Details of the incidents remain mostly classified .

The Epoch Times: Orange County Cities' Financial Rankings for 2022 Are Here
Five cities in Orange County delayed posting their Annual Comprehensive Financial Reports due to new accounting standards and other factors. Leases were re-characterized as loans, leading to the recognition of assets and liabilities and the reporting of indirect debt. Cities also delayed the inclusion of defined benefit pension liabilities by one year to report positive results due to good returns from California Public Employees’ Retirement System (CalPERS). The rising tide did not help the city of Costa Mesa move out of the cellar. The 2023 ACFRs for Orange County’s 34 cities may have a different story to tell as the pension realities are reported.
The Epoch Times: Global Debt Soars Again
Global debt levels continue to soar, reaching $305 trillion in Q1 2023, causing a burden on growth and eroding purchasing power. Public debt is not a reserve asset, and governments use increasing debt for current spending with no real economic return, negatively impacting growth, job creation, and investment. Investors should expect inflationist policies to be accelerated, potentially leading to stagflation. Rising debt means gold remains as the only de-correlated and safe asset in an environment where currency destruction is likely to continue.
The Epoch Times: Elon Musk Again Ranked as World's Richest Person
Elon Musk regains title of “World’s Richest Person” on the Bloomberg Billionaires Index, with a net worth of $192.3 billion compared to luxury goods tycoon Bernard Arnault’s $186.6 billion. Musk lost nearly $200 billion in estimated net worth last year due to a decline in Tesla’s market value and his purchase of Twitter. However, Musk’s fortune improved this year following a rebound in Tesla stock, while LVMH’s shares declined about 10 percent since April, causing Arnault to lose an estimated $11 billion in net worth last week. Musk has invested much of his attention and net worth into acquiring and revamping Twitter, which has fallen two-thirds in value since October, and has suggested that Twitter could eventually provide a far broader set of features.
Breitbart: Nolte: Target Stock Downgraded by JP Morgan After Satanic Grooming Backlash
JPMorgan downgraded Target's stock from "neutral" to "overweight." It believes that recent controversies, like being accused of being satanic child groomers, could turn "Target's traffic negative after an impressive run of 12 consecutive positive quarters." Target is experiencing its longest losing streak in 23 years.
The Epoch Times: One Supreme Court Justice Dissents in Key Union Case
The US Supreme Court has ruled in favor of concrete company Glacier Northwest, allowing it to go ahead with a lawsuit against one of the largest unions in the US, the International Brotherhood of Teamsters. The lawsuit resulted from a 2017 strike where the teamsters walked away from the job, leaving cement to go bad in the trucks parked at the firm's site. Justice Ketanji Brown Jackson dissented, stating that the union's "conduct is at least arguably protected by the NLRA". Glacier had to dump not only the concrete but also pay for the wastage to be broken up and taken away.
The Epoch Times: Debunking Another Misleading Green Energy Study
Green energy evangelists argue that fossil fuels are successful because they are highly subsidized, and wind and solar would win in a fair fight. However, the data they use to support their argument is geared more towards generating headlines than good policy. The supposed data draws from an International Monetary Fund working paper that defines “subsidy” broadly and includes “undercharging for environmental costs” that occur from the use of fossil fuels, such as underpricing for local air pollution and global warming costs. Yet, there is virtually no evidence that man-made global warming is having a costly impact on today’s world, and the study fails to mention the massive contribution to human flourishing that has resulted directly from the use of hydrocarbons. The benefits of fossil fuels far outweigh the alleged costs, making it clear that these fuels have made the world a better place.

The Epoch Times: FDA Approves Pfizer’s RSV Vaccine for Older Adults
The FDA has given approval to Pfizer's new vaccine, Abrysvo, to protect older adults against respiratory syncytial virus (RSV). Abrysvo is the second ever RSV vaccine to be authorized for use, following GSK’s Arexvy on May 3rd. Abrysvo's approval was based on the interim results of the study, which included 37,000 participants aged 60 and over, with the vaccine being 66.7% effective at preventing moderate lower respiratory tract illness with at least two symptoms and 85.7% effective at preventing illness with at least three symptoms. An ongoing double-blind, placebo-controlled RENOIR study evaluating the vaccine's efficacy, immunogenicity, and safety will continue with efficacy data being collected during the second RSV season. Furthermore, the trial also produced concerns over autoimmune syndromes, with one case of a patient developing Guillain-Barre syndrome and the incidence rate for these syndromes being 1 in 9,000 in contrast to 1 in 100,000 in the general population.
The Epoch Times: Colorful Reflector in Cat's Eye Enhances Night Vision
Henry the cat's glowing eyes are due to the tapetum lucidum, a layer of iridescent cells behind the retina that reflects light back onto it, increasing the amount of light that hits it. The tapetum lucidum is common to animals that hunt after dark, and gives cats superior night vision. (,)
Freeze-drying raw meat does not make it safe, in fact it is one of the best ways to preserve bacteria, putting dogs and their owners at risk of Salmonella and Listeria infections. Small pieces of raw meat are particularly susceptible to contamination and pose a risk to puppies, children, seniors, and those with compromised immune systems. Safe alternative options are available at pet supply stores or through your veterinarian. (,)
The Epoch Times: Tuberculosis on the Rise: Here's What to Know About the Disease
The mass migration of people to Western countries has led to concerns about the introduction of tuberculosis (TB) and other infectious diseases not widespread in the United States. Prompt treatment is crucial for individuals with active TB, otherwise, two-thirds of them will die. The continuing arrival of migrants, especially from states on the southern border, is also bringing several diseases to the United States, most notably TB.
New York City has been severely affected by TB with a rate over twice the national average. In 2022, nearly 90 percent of TB cases in the city occurred among individuals born outside the United States. The identification and treatment of TB are crucial to prevent the disease from spreading and becoming more difficult to treat. The complexity of the TB bacteria makes it difficult to determine which antibodies or components can offer protection, and overcrowded living conditions increase the risk of spreading the disease.
The Epoch Times: Chimichurri Adds Double the Flavor

The Epoch Times: Supreme Court Sides With Whistleblowers in Pharmacy Fraud Lawsuits
The Supreme Court revived whistleblower lawsuits against SuperValu and Safeway for allegedly overcharging the government by filing false Medicare and Medicaid reimbursement claims for prescription drugs they sold. The lawsuits will be allowed to proceed in the lower courts. The case was deemed important as it concerns the federal False Claims Act, which is a key tool for the government to crack down on health care fraud.
The appeals court previously found that the two companies had overbilled the government, but found that their pricing was based on a reasonable regulatory interpretation and that the companies lacked scienter. However, the Supreme Court unanimously found that the appeals court had applied the wrong test and that the question presented was whether or not the defendants knew the claim was false. The FCA is the “most important anti-fraud statute” and was enacted in 1863 to deal with defense contractor fraud during the Civil War.

The Babylon Bee: Elon Musk Weeds Out Remaining Woke Twitter Employees With Avocado Toast Trap
Owner Elon Musk constructed an elaborate trap at Twitter to root out hipster millennial tech employees responsible for alleged political suppression and bias. The trap was baited with avocado toast, which Musk believes will lure in woke millennials who can't resist the delicacy. The trap involves a combination of elements that eventually drop a wooden box onto the individuals eating the avocado toast, making it Musk's greatest invention. The $6 billion trap is seen as a bargain to root out problem employees as it would weed out individuals with "woke" agendas.
Flag And Cross: New Robot Centipede Could Help With Planetary Exploration
A robot centipede modeled after insects could assist in search and rescue missions and planetary exploration. The machine is made up of six segments and, thanks to motors that can adjust an adjustable screw, the flexibility of the couplings can be modified both as it walks and when it reaches a specific location. Using “pitchfork bifurcation”, it can change from straight walking to curved, either to the right or left, which means that it can negotiate difficult terrain. The centipede can also reduce both computational complexity and energy requirements while controlling numerous joints. The researchers suggest that future versions could include additional segments and control mechanisms.

The Epoch Times: Anti-ESG Arguments Sway Some at Environmental Conference
Speakers at The Economist's “Sustainability Week” meeting in Washington discussed the existential threat posed by environmental problems and how ESG investing can combat them. While ESG principles drew support from participants, anti-ESG proponents argued that such principles threaten vital coal, oil, natural gas and other hydrocarbon fuels and their extraction. However, speakers claimed that ESG is necessary for fighting climate change, and that other means of combatting environmental and social troubles are not as effective. There were disagreements between academic Witold Henisz and investor Terrence Keeley, although most participants supported ESG investing by the end of the event.

The Epoch Times: Oklahoma Eases Restrictions on Abortion
Oklahoma’s Supreme Court has ruled that two laws banning abortion with the exception of life-threatening emergencies are unconstitutional. The court stated that the laws require a “medical emergency” before an abortion is allowed, which goes against an earlier ruling stating that the Oklahoma Constitution allows a pregnant woman to terminate a pregnancy to preserve her life. However, the court declined to rule on whether state law grants the right to an abortion for other reasons. Meanwhile, a new report by the Society for Family Planning suggests that abortion restrictions by over half of US states have led to a drop in abortion numbers. However, a survey found that many women feel pressured or forced into seeking abortions due to a lack of support and financial stability.
The Epoch Times: Government Should Abolish Inheritance Tax, Says Former Chancellor Zahawi
Conservative MPs are calling for the abolition of inheritance tax in the UK, with former Chancellor Nadhim Zahawi branding it "morally wrong" to take someone's assets on their death. Zahawi argued in The Telegraph that the tax negatively affects personal finances and the wider economy, and suggested that Prime Minister Rishi Sunak's government had "a golden opportunity" to scrap it. Among those backing the call are former Business Secretary Jacob Rees-Mogg and former Home Secretary Priti Patel. However, Labour Party MPs argue that eliminating inheritance tax will benefit only the richest. #[[economy]]
