American Thinker: Donald Trump on FOX News tonight (Thursday) for a televised town hall
Former President Donald Trump will appear on FOX News for a one-hour town hall on the Hannity program tonight. The broadcast will be a replay of a live audience event earlier in the day in Clive, Iowa. Trump's previous town hall appearance on CNN received mixed reviews, with ratings lower than his previous town halls on FOX News. Meanwhile, CNN rewarded host Kaitlin Collins, who hosted the Trump town hall, with her own primetime show.
Both Trump and Florida Gov. Ron DeSantis, who recently declared his candidacy, were in Iowa this week, which is of major importance to the Republican presidential nomination race. The caucuses will take place next January, with the exact date not yet set. Peter Barry Chowka, a veteran journalist, will provide a review of the town hall on American Thinker and links to the video.
The Economist: After a decade of SNP dominance, Scotland’s politics is suddenly in flux
Scotland's political landscape is shifting as fatigue and scandal signal the end of the Scottish National Party's (SNP) electoral dominance and the prospect of a second independence referendum. The SNP's polling has plummeted since former First Minister Nicola Sturgeon's resignation and police investigation into the alleged misuse of party funds. Now, there is a growing possibility that Shawlands in Glasgow, the heartland of Scotland's modern nationalist movement, could elect Labour MP Gordon McKee to oust the Tory government in Westminster. An independence referendum is off the agenda for the foreseeable future, and cooler heads suggest the SNP should now focus on extracting money and autonomy for Scotland from a Labour government keen to cement its electoral gains there.
Fox News: Nearly 10K photos from Hunter Biden's laptop hit the web: 'Truth and transparency'
A new website called BidenLaptopMedia.com has been launched, featuring almost 10,000 photos from Hunter Biden's laptop spanning from 2008 to 2019. Garrett Ziegler, the founder of nonprofit Marco Polo, said that the website took months to complete as they had to go through the photos and redact any sensitive information. Ziegler said the website is "about truth and transparency" and promised "a completely authentic recounting of the photos on the device" while insisting that the project is not a "hit job" against the Biden family.

Foreign Policy: India Is Stuck in a New World Disorder
India's growing self-confidence in foreign policy stems from its increasing economic clout, leading to its diverse arms suppliers. New Delhi's support for Moscow has shown up through abstaining from votes at the United Nations and importing large quantities of Russian oil. It still has a long way to cross to fully establish itself as a major global power due to its reliance on Russia for spare military parts. ( )

The Epoch Times: Republican Presidential Candidate Vivek Ramaswamy 'Deeply Concerned' Over Musk's China Visit
Tesla CEO Elon Musk's meeting with China's foreign minister and his reported opposition to economic decoupling between the United States and China has caused concern for Republican Presidential candidate Vivek Ramaswamy. Musk's trip to China, his first in over three years, saw him meet with Foreign Minister Qin Gang, where he reportedly praised China's "vitality and promise", while announcing he would expand his business there. Ramaswamy took to Twitter to express his concern and claimed that it is a "real risk to the US when the CCP turns our most prominent business leaders & celebrities—Tim Cook, Larry Fink, LeBron James, Elon Musk—into puppets to advance their agenda."
Musk has remained silent on his visit to China, including his meeting with the foreign minister. Musk's quietness on social media is unusual and has added to concerns that he is being too close to the perceived anti-US agenda of the Chinese Communist Party (CCP). Musk's visit comes at a time of increasing tension between the US and China and reports of cyberattacks and IP theft. This followed the downing of a Chinese surveillance balloon over the US earlier this year. China's growing friendship with Russia and its aggressive actions towards Taiwan and the South China Sea are also causing concern.
The Epoch Times: Xi Calls on China’s Top National Security Officials to Prepare for ‘Worse Case Scenarios’
The leader of the Chinese Communist Party, Xi Jinping, has urged national security officials to be prepared for "worst case scenarios" and "stormy seas." He emphasized the need to speed up the modernization of the military, as the situation regarding national security has become "complex and grave." The regime must also construct a national security risk monitoring and early warning system. China affairs commentator Wang He said that the use of "bottom-line thinking and worst-case-scenario thinking" shows that the tone of the National Security Commission meeting was combative, indicating that the CCP is at its weakest point.

The FDA has granted approval for Pfizer’s Abrysvo vaccine against respiratory syncytial virus (RSV) for adults aged 60 and above. The second vaccine against RSV to be approved by the FDA, Pfizer's shot was shown to be nearly 86% effective against severe illness, according to clinical trials. The CDC is set to meet later this month to decide distribution and frequency as Pfizer looks to make it available for seniors by autumn. RSV is primarily a childhood disease, yet it can be fatal for the elderly and those with underlying conditions. It kills an estimated annual average of 14,000 senior adults in the US.

Forbes: Ralph Yarl Shooting: Judge Agrees To Seal Court Documents Citing Threats Against Suspect
Andrew Lester, an 84-year-old white man who shot Black teenager Ralph Yarl, has been granted a request to have court documents that led to threats against him sealed. Clay County Judge Louis Angles’ decision to do so has aroused concerns about the fairness of the trial. Additionally, Lester’s actions have been described by an “overwhelming majority” as “racially motivated.” ( )
