Flag And Cross: Hannity Kicks Off Trump Town Hall by Announcing It Will Be Very Different Than CNN's
Hannity Kicks Off Trump Town Hall by Announcing It Will Be Very Different Than CNN's
Fox News host Sean Hannity distinguished himself from CNN's Kaitlin Collins at a presidential town hall event with former President Donald Trump. Hannity made it clear that he wouldn't debate with Trump, unlike Collins who sparred with him throughout the night during a similar event in May. Hannity stated that they would ask Trump about the issues of the day. Trump was then brought on stage, and the event commenced without any heated arguments.

One of the most contentious moments from CNN's town hall event occurred when Collins asked Trump about his actions during the Jan. 6, 2021, Capitol insurrection, prompting Trump to reach into his blazer and show screenshots from his Twitter account the day before. Hannity's refusal to debate with Trump and get into heated arguments may have prevented the event from going viral in the same fashion as CNN's event, thanks to the highly contentious clashes between Collins and Trump.

The Epoch Times: Meta to Test Blocking News on Instagram, Facebook for Some Canadians
Meta to Test Blocking News on Instagram, Facebook for Some Canadians
Meta is conducting a temporary test that involves blocking news for some Canadian users on Facebook and Instagram. The move is in response to the Liberal government bill C-18, which proposes that tech giants must pay publishers for their content online. If the bill passes, Meta has said it may permanently ban news content on its platforms. During the test, randomly selected Canadian users will not be able to view or share news content, which could include news links, reels or stories. The company said it is selecting random news publishers to notify of the test and that only Canadians will be affected.

Fox News: Trump mocks Chris Christie's expected 2024 campaign launch: 'He's polling at zero'
Trump mocks Chris Christie's expected 2024 campaign launch: 'He's polling at zero'
Former President Donald Trump criticized expected Republican presidential candidate Chris Christie for his low approval rating as governor of New Jersey, questioning why low-polling candidates continue to join the crowded field of contenders for the 2024 nomination. Trump also mocked other GOP candidates, including Florida Governor Ron DeSantis, who is considered his main rival. Christie is set to launch his second run for the presidency after an unsuccessful bid in 2016. The former governor left office with an approval rating near the single digits.

The Epoch Times: Senate Passes Debt Ceiling Bill, Ending Threat of Default
Senate Passes Debt Ceiling Bill, Ending Threat of Default
The Senate passed the Fiscal Responsibility Act of 2023 to suspend the debt limit through Jan. 1, 2025, while making slight reductions to non-defense discretionary spending and modest increases in defense spending in 2024. The bill also makes changes to work requirements for some social welfare programs, streamlines the permitting process to drill for oil and natural gas, and takes back $20 billion in IRS funding and $30 billion in unspent COVID relief funds.

Republican senators voiced concern over the bill for its inadequate amount of military spending, citing growth in military spending and activity by China and other nations. Some senators opposed the bill because of additional work requirements on some recipients of social services while preserving tax cuts for wealthy Americans and large corporations. All amendments to the bill failed.

The American Spectator: How Conservatives Can Win the Next Debt-Ceiling Fight
How Conservatives Can Win the Next Debt-Ceiling Fight
The debt-ceiling bill passed with greater support from Democrats than Republicans, despite being dubbed “McCarthy’s bill." The legislation allows the federal government to fulfill its obligations without defaulting and jeopardizing its credit, but critics argue that it includes elements that put the con in conservative. The bill also places into the bill a concession that Democrats had already granted nine months ago, which looks like a Jedi mind trick. Conservatives must reverse the narrative that people refusing to go further into debt represent recklessness and people wanting to perpetually borrow to pay bills represent responsibility, and pass a bill that prioritizes spending for interest on the debt, Social Security, Medicare, veterans, and defense in case of a debt-ceiling emergency to end the implicit blackmail.

The Blaze: 'Shame on those who advocate this!' Elon Musk says he will push 'to criminalize making severe, irreversible changes to children below the age of consent'
'Shame on those who advocate this!' Elon Musk says he will push 'to criminalize making severe, irreversible changes to children below the age of consent'
Elon Musk is pushing to criminalize permanent gender-transition measures on children who have not reached the age of consent. In April, Musk noted that individuals should be mature enough to make their own decisions before other adults govern them with serious physical changes. Musk personally uses people's preferred pronouns, citing it as good manners.

The Daily Wire had planned to promote Matt Walsh's "What Is a Woman?" documentary on Twitter to every user over the first 10 hours. After Twitter reviewed the documentary, it rescinded the advertising opportunity, limited the movie's reach and labeled it as 'hateful conduct.' The tweet currently carries a "Visibility Limited" label, and comments, retweets, and likes are disabled. Elon Musk says he will update the system so that followers can see it in their feed and commenting and deliberate sharing will be allowed.

The American Spectator: Joe Biden’s Sop to the Jews
Joe Biden’s Sop to the Jews
The Biden administration's plan to combat anti-Semitism in America was met with enthusiasm from many Jewish organizations, but Dov Fischer views it as a sham. Fischer argues that the plan fails to address the problem of black and Muslim anti-Semitism in America, and instead assigns chief blame for anti-Semitism on white supremacists. Fischer also criticizes the plan's lack of meaningful action to address anti-Semitism on college campuses and its failure to define anti-Semitism in a way that would include attacks against Israel and Zionism. In Fischer's view, the plan is an insult to American Jews and not worth the paper it is written on.

NBC Worries That Some Companies Are Backtracking on LGBTQ Agenda
Conservative pushback against corporations promoting LGBTQ products has led to companies reconsidering engaging in politics during Pride Month. The leftist media portrays this as a "culture clash," but parents pushing back against exposing their children to perverted ideologies is quite rational. Woke companies' virtue signaling during Pride Month has become ubiquitous, but this year some corporations have faced backlash over transgender issues, causing sponsors to become more hesitant, fearing a backlash on their bottom line.

Decorated war hero Ben Roberts-Smith has lost his high profile defamation case against three Australian newspapers, which reported that he committed war crimes in Afghanistan, bullied SAS soldiers and assaulted his mistress. The Commonwealth had asked for the case to be deferred on national security grounds.

The Epoch Times: What's Next After Senate Passes Debt Ceiling Bill
What's Next After Senate Passes Debt Ceiling Bill
The US Senate has approved the debt ceiling agreement, which suspends the debt limit through Jan. 1, 2025, and imposes caps on defense and non-defense discretionary spending enforced by sequestration. The bill will now go to President Joe Biden to be signed after several amendments, suggested by lawmakers to eliminate irrelevant parts of the bill, were rejected. Republican Senators Rand Paul and Marsha Blackburn have expressed contention over the bill, with Sanders also stating that he would vote against the bill. The fight to restore fiscal discipline in the nation’s capital is considered to be just getting started, with the debt limit deal being the first step.

The approval of the debt ceiling agreement prevented the nation’s first-ever default, with lawmakers introducing 11 amendments to the bill before its passing. Economists and market analysts warned that defaulting on the nation’s debt would have triggered an enormous shock, sending the country into a recession and creating job losses. Investors have since renewed their focus on the upcoming Federal Reserve policy meeting, with traders anticipating the Federal Open Market Committee (FOMC) will vote to hit the pause button on rate hikes. The two-day FOMC policy meeting will be held on June 13 and 14.

Republican attempts to add amendments were shot down, including one to impose new border controls.

The Epoch Times: Consumer Reports Challenges FDA's 'High' Arsenic Limits in Apple Juice, Citing Health Risks to Children
Consumer Reports Challenges FDA's 'High' Arsenic Limits in Apple Juice, Citing Health Risks to Children
Consumer Reports has criticized the FDA's final guidance on limits for inorganic arsenic in apple juice, arguing that the level of 10 parts per billion (ppb) is too high and may pose potential risks to children's health. The advocacy organization conducted its own testing in 2018 and found elevated levels of cadmium, inorganic arsenic, and lead in 21 out of 45 tested fruit juices. Consumer Reports supports the use of action levels as a means of enforcement and accountability for regulators and apple juice manufacturers, but believes a lower level of 3 ppb is necessary to ensure public health. Exposure to inorganic arsenic has been associated with various adverse health effects in humans, including cancer, diabetes, negative impacts on birth outcomes, and cardiovascular and neurodevelopmental issues.

Fox News: AI threat landscape could include automated propaganda bots, sophisticated email attacks: Security experts
AI threat landscape could include automated propaganda bots, sophisticated email attacks: Security experts
Experts warn of the dangers of AI and its potential to enable scalable disinformation and online scams. AI could allow governments to propagate and originate disinformation at scale, potentially drowning out dissident voices and flooding the social media ecosystem. Bad actors could also use large language models to create sophisticated scam emails that are harder to detect, and deepfakes are a prime concern regarding fabricated audio and video artifacts. AI detection is currently limited, and cooperation is needed at the government level to combat the rapid progression of AI. The potential risks of cyber warfare are significant, and education is necessary to teach people how to deal with online information.
