Mayorkas, Biden's border chief, claims that the CBP One process cuts out smugglers and provides a safe, orderly, and humane process for noncitizens to enter the US. However, critics argue that the process is being used to smuggle an uncapped number of illegals past cartels in Northern Mexico, TV media outlets in the US, and public opposition, likely leading to an underreporting of migrant inflows. The policy echoes similar migration policies in other countries, which are known to reduce beneficial trade and extract vast amounts of human resources from poor countries. As a result, the policy is unpopular among many Americans, with a majority believing that the southern border is being invaded.

Rep. Chip Roy, R-Texas, has sent a letter to Defense Secretary Lloyd Austin requesting information on every Pride Month celebration sponsored or supported by the military. Roy is investigating how the Defense Department will spend taxpayer dollars to promote diversity, equity, and inclusion (DEI) events during LGBTQ+ Pride month. In his letter, Roy demanded that DoD turn over documents and information on every Pride Month celebration. He asserts that diverting funds from the military's mission to "deter war and ensure our nation's security" could erode the unity within the service ranks and the public's confidence in the fighting force.
The letter came after DoD canceled a child-friendly drag show at Nellis Air Force Base in Nevada that had been scheduled for the first day of Pride Month. According to NBC News, the decision to cancel the event came directly from Austin and Mark Milley. A drag show was hosted at Nellis Air Force Base each of the past two years, including 2021 and 2022.

They were experts in their craft, well-educated and true outdoorsmen, who could make do with very little. They were also mean and nasty, taking no prisoners. Lucian Cary died destitute in a New York City flophouse, and many committed suicide. They were excellent with rifles, shotguns, and handguns, and their shooting departments ran to 3,000 words. The best writer was Jack O'Connor, although Warren Page was underrated, while Col. Townsend Whelen was their favorite. The gun writers of yesterday were remarkable characters who understood the true nature of firearms.
