The Epoch Times: ProPublica Article Left Out Fact Justice Was Cleared of Ethics Violations: Clarence Thomas Defender
Left-wing criticism of Clarence Thomas and the Supreme Court has intensified since the Court's reversal of Roe v. Wade. A report by ProPublica, funded by liberal donor George Soros, accused Thomas of concealing vacations provided by a GOP donor that created a conflict of interest. However, a friend of the justice claims that he was cleared of wrongdoing over a decade ago and that this information was not disclosed by the report. Thomas's detractors have organized protests and even harassed the justices in public, and Democrats have proposed packing the Supreme Court to obtain a liberal majority.
According to a Wall Street Journal op-ed, the ProPublica report accusing Clarence Thomas of impropriety regarding undisclosed gifts was "old news." The report also claimed that liberal donor George Soros funded the group that produced it. Thomas was charged with concealing a conflict of interest by accepting vacations from a GOP donor, while left-wing activists agitated for his impeachment. However, Thomas's friend claims that he was cleared of improper conduct over a decade ago. Some have called for the Supreme Court to adopt an enforceable code of ethics, which could be unconstitutional under the separation of powers doctrine.
National Review: Donald Trump Vows ‘I’ll Never Leave’ the 2024 Race for President
Donald Trump declares he will continue his race for the Republican presidential nomination despite the 37 criminal charges he faces over mishandling classified documents. He made the statement while in Georgia and North Carolina, his first appearances since being indicted. The indictment includes Trump's aide Walt Nauta, and Republicans have called the indictment “damning.” Trump called it “ridiculous” and personalized it by telling supporters that the indictment was coming after them, and not just him. Law enforcement in South Florida is preparing ahead of his arraignment on Tuesday.
The Epoch Times: CCP Includes Xi’s Quotes in National College Entrance Exam Again to Tighten Political Control
Xi Jinping's quotations were used as a composition topic in China's annual college entrance exam, known as Gaokao, for the second time in five years. Experts say the Chinese Communist Party fears it can't control China's youth, and its brainwashing methods are ineffective. Two idioms from Xi were included in the essay section, and he was praised for "expressing common truths in vivid language." Critics say using Xi's quotes is beyond the authorization of scholars in the exam design group and is an attempt to control people's thoughts using methods from the Mao era.
The use of Xi's quotes in the Gaokao has sparked criticism about the CCP's attempts to promote loyalty to the regime. Some worry that students with different opinions may be denied points in the grading if they do not align with the standard answers. However, many Chinese people are disgusted with Mao Zedong's Cultural Revolution practices, and experts say the party-oriented education of the CCP cannot achieve its goal. Some protesters against the CCP's COVID-19 lockdowns last year were educated youth, including college students, who chanted "Down with the Communist Party! Down with Xi Jinping!" during demonstrations.

Liberty Nation: NATO Membership for Ukraine, an Internecine Tug of War
The question of Ukraine's NATO membership has been complicated by the unprovoked Russian invasion and annexation of Crimea in 2014. Although some NATO members remain in favor of Ukraine's membership, others see the current conflict as a barrier to membership. Nonetheless, there is strong support for Ukraine within NATO, and the forthcoming summit in Vilnius is expected to result in an agreement on a roadmap to membership and additional military support for Kyiv. However, it is unlikely to result in an invitation for Ukraine to join NATO at this stage.

The Federalist Papers: Alarmed Scientists Ask Public for Help in Hunting Mystery Person Responsible for ‘Cryptic’ Poop
A unique strain of the coronavirus has been found in sewage from two Ohio communities, according to Marc Johnson, a molecular microbiology and immunology professor at the University of Missouri School of Medicine. Johnson is tracking many strains of the virus, including cryptic ones, and has been analyzing genetic material to identify which strains are where .
The Centers for Disease Control and Prevention has stated that the strain found is not currently spreading or a public health threat, but is interested in understanding persistent infection and virus evolution in individuals with compromised immune systems. Johnson believes that studying this individual could provide important information about the virus and has asked for cooperation from suspected infected individuals to obtain necessary information through COVID rapid antigen tests.

Forbes: Underachieving India, Cricket’s Richest And Most Powerful Nation, Has A Decade-Long Title Drought
India lost the World Test Championship final to Australia, despite Virat Kohli's valiant efforts. Kohli's dismissal by Scott Boland proved crucial as India fell tamely. Australia celebrated a perfect start to their U.K. tour, and experts rated Pat Cummins' team the best the country has produced since the late 2000s. India's trophy drought - now a decade long - is surprising given the nation's huge passion for cricket, its population size, and its position as an economic powerhouse. Critics argue that the Board of Control for Cricket in India has not invested enough in grassroots and infrastructure.

Red State: Biden's Remarks and Flag Display at Pride Celebration Are Truly Messed Up
Joe Biden held a Pride event attacking laws that banned irreversible transgender surgery for minors. He said they were dangerous “anti-LGBTQ” legislation, falsely claiming they attack the right to raise your own children. He also claimed "more funding" was being committed to help families to "support and affirm their kids." Biden's use of the LGBTQ term was clumsy, he left out the "T" when saying they were committing funding for dealing with homelessness. Biden also talked about his first encounter with gay men and made up a story in which his father told him that the two men who he said were kissing were in “love.” He lied to the LGBTQ audience, pandering and trying to whip them up. He ended the ban on transgender Americans serving in the United States military. During the event, the Progress Pride flag was displayed on the balcony of the White House in the center and on the same level as the American flags, raising concerns about a violation of the U.S. flag code.
