The Epoch Times: Government Overreached in Identity Theft Case, Supreme Court Rules Unanimously
The US Supreme Court has unanimously limited the reach of the federal Identity Theft Penalty Enhancement Act, rejecting the Biden administration’s attempts to prosecute a man already convicted of Medicaid fraud with a separate charge of aggravated identity theft, arising from the same fraud case . The act mandates a two-year jail sentence for violations and was established in 2004 by President George W. Bush. The Supreme Court’s 9-0 decision in Dubin v. United States stated that the act fails to provide adequate notice of what it criminalises and would unfairly impose extra penalties on those who commit another underlying crime, such as fraud .
Liberty Nation: Guns, Oil, and Politics – LN Radio
Oil prices are rising as OPEC and other countries reduce production. The war in Ukraine escalates as Russian troops gather near the border. The 2024 presidential primary is getting crowded, while gun rights continue to be a contentious issue in America.
American Thinker: Same Plot, Different Actors
The Department of Justice is resorting to familiar tactics in its indictment of former President Donald Trump, including count stacking, cherry-picking statements out of context, and leaking false information to the press. The indictment shows many boxes of memorabilia at Mar-a-Lago, but few of them held classified documents, and Biden's careless treatment of government documents goes un-reprimanded. The case will be tried in South Florida, a more favorable jurisdiction than DC, with appeals to Justice Clarence Thomas.
Despite 37 charges against Trump related to classified documents, the indictment makes no mention of the Presidential Records Act, which allows a President access to such documents upon leaving office and allows for negotiation with the National Archives. It assumes Trump had no right to take any classified documents, rendering the PRA meaningless. Trump's defense will also highlight irregularities in the Mar-a-Lago raid and leaks from inside the DoJ. If convicted, he can pardon himself in his second term.
Red State: 'I'll Never Leave': Trump Will Run For President Even if He's Convicted
Donald Trump plans to run for the White House in 2024 despite facing 37 charges relating to documents seized from Mar-a-Lago. He has made two campaign stops in Georgia and North Carolina and is a frontrunner in GOP primary polls. Trump called the indictment against him a "witch hunt" and "election interference". He criticized the Department of Justice and said that the charges are politically motivated. Despite the charges, a conviction would not legally prevent him from running or winning office. Trump is due in court in Miami on Tuesday.

National Review: The Truth about Redlining’s History
Redlining, the practice of denying home loans to African Americans in black neighborhoods, is often blamed for the racial wealth divide in America. However, recent research suggests that white households accounted for 82% of individuals living in risky areas that were redlined in 1930, and Caucasians were the sole owners of 92% of the homes in these areas. While proportionally more black individuals owned homes in redlined neighborhoods, this was likely due to poverty rather than racism. It is worth noting that redlining has been illegal since 1968 and has little to do with contemporary settlement patterns in many American cities.
American Thinker: The Effect of Utopian Fever on the Future
The 1939 World's Fair presented a utopian vision of the future, a showpiece of art, science, and engineering. However, this hidden, dark side of modernity coupled the evolution of things with the evolution of people, leading to the dehumanizing, negative aspect of progress. Utopians who aim to engineer a new world order, care little for the common man and have sacked religion from their plans - something that defines atheists, Marxists, and fellow travelers. Beware the "world of tomorrow" designed by leaders so demented as to render it uninhabitable.
The fallacy of man's obsession with progress has been highlighted over the years. After the blundering holocaust of World War I, trade unions, communists, sociological pragmatists emerged en masse to engineer a new world order that would bring peace, abundance, equality, and fraternity for all, steered proudly by the common man. However, these Utopians care little for the common man and have dismissed religion from their plans. How can we hope to regain "Paradise Lost" if we act solely on our conceits? When God is dismissed, and people act according to their conceits, we get times like these.
National Review: Christians Have Lost a Modern-Day Hero
Catholic Bishop Macram Gassis dies at 84. For 40 years, he worked tirelessly in war-ravaged Sudan to build a Christian civilization and provide basic necessities such as churches, schools, hospitals and clean water. He recruited priests and nuns to help him carry out good works despite the dangers. He believed in educating, caring for and respecting everyone, including women, Catholics, Protestants, Muslims, followers of traditional practices and the young and old. He was also a voice against the violent attacks of the government. Despite Archbishop Theodore McCarrick shunning him, Bishop Gassis continued to speak about the needs of his besieged diocese and received an outpouring of support. He will be remembered as an extraordinary hero.

National Review: Why Not a Pacific NATO?
The United States is not looking to create a NATO-style alliance in the Indo-Pacific, according to Defense Secretary Lloyd Austin. Officials in China have warned against such an organisation being formed. However, the lack of such an alliance underestimates the threat posed by China. The Southeast Asia Treaty Organization (SEATO) once existed to protect the region from internal conflict and global threat and was founded in 1954. While it dissolved some years later, the circumstances of China's current threat, as well as the foundations of the ASEAN and a number of bilateral and trilateral treaties, make an equivalent organisation for the Indo-Pacific a necessary prospect today.

Forbes: Production Designer Saini S Johray Opens Up On Working On ‘The Night Manager 2’
Indian production designer Saini S Johray discusses the research and design process involved in creating sets for films and web series in an exclusive interview. For contemporary themes, research takes two to three months and focuses on real-life locations that can be converted into sets. However, for historic, futuristic, or fantasy themes, research requires logical imagination since the evidence is limited. Johray also discusses the challenges of designing an Indian vampire film, ToothPari, within the Indian cultural context.

The Epoch Times: Underwater photographer captures glasslike insides of surf waves that look unreal through his lens
Photographer Nick Selway has captivated the world with his surreal pictures of big, breaking waves in Hawaii. He captures these images by diving into the breakers and capturing the water turned inside-out with his underwater lens. Selway's passion for photographing waves was first ignited by old surfing magazine shots from the 70s, 80s, and 90s. With two decades of experience, Selway says that understanding ocean rhythms is key to capturing the perfect shot. Despite the difficulties of shooting waves, Selway has become a master, boasting one of his shots as the "coolest shot" he's ever gotten.

American Thinker: America's Headlong Rush Back to Slavery
The left insists that America's founding principles are flawed due to its history of slavery, but they are demanding a rush back to slavery through woke ideology and top-down control of all Americans in the name of achieving social justice. The Biden administration continues to work toward censoring free speech, and the government wants to control where and how much Americans work and earn, demonstrating a desire to abandon capitalism and transform America into a communist utopia. The demolition before the remodel will destroy prosperity, morality, self-governance, and any semblance of God-given rights.
